I've been on PAin killers now for around 10 yrs. I started out with loratad 10/500 and they worked pretty good then they stopped making those and couldn't get relief from none of the rest. Finally my Dr.changed me to Percocet 10/325s. Well at first they seem to work then the past few months I can't seem to get relief. He even gave me tramadol to take in between but nothing!! I'm not wanting to go back to PAin clinic ...been there done that..was off in left field for a while but managed to come off all they had me on and was scared of Dr.s for a lil while but the PAin for too much and went to Dr. Which sent me to neurologist in turn has helped me for a lil over 3 yrs now. But the Percocet 10s are not cutting it anymore and scared of what's next. Can anyone tell me wha...

I have disk degenerative disease in bottem 6 disk from tail bone up, scoliosis, fibromyalgia and uneven hips. Started tylenol3s when was 13 and I just turned 31. Have gone from tylenol 3s percocet morphine(10*30*50*100m) ms morphine demerol dillaudid (2*4*8) hydromorphs (6*12*24) fentynal (12*25*50*100). All my doctor did was keep handing me more pills. I cried and pleded for them to send me to a specialist for diagotistics. I'm very happy to say that I am down to 3-30mg morphines a day. I have 2 year old son who is dennis the mennis maybe has him beat lol. Some days its tough to get up. I'm currently at the point where the morphine is lucky to last 3 hrs. :( I never want to go back to the amounts I was on before but I need to be able to function. I picked up meds on 13th. I swe...

In the 70s there was an OTC analgesic you could buy for pain. It was not Aspirin or Tylenol. It began with the letter "E". (It wa not a compound; Excedrin.). I have been wracking my brains to no avail. Thanks in advance. ## Somebody saw this question on our Facebook page and is suggesting: "Empirin # 4". Does that ring a bell? ## Yes it does, and was my first thought. I guess I thought the medication was an aspirin alternative, so when I looked up Emperin and saw that It IS asprin I wondered if there was another answer. Thanks for the reply! ## Empirin ## There's a narcotic beginning with an E called Endocet (Percocet) for pain.

opana 10 vs percocet 10 for chronic pain in legs from neuropathy + severe muscle atrophy! I have a bullet in my back which can not be removed. some one told me about opana as he suffers with the same injury! Was wondering if the opana works better on this type of nerve pain better than the percocet? ## Hi Delain - sorry to hear about your chronic pain. Technically speaking the Opana (active ingredient Oxymorphone) is a significantly stronger pain killer than Percocet if you are taking the same dosage. However, depending on how your body metabolizes it and exactly how you are taking the medication could influence the result. If you have already started the Opana may I ask how you are finding it compared to the Percocet? Hopefully you are finding the relief you need! ## I havent switched ...

I've read where people say it's IMPOSSIBLE to fake the yellow 10/325 percocet and whoever believes that is sadly mistaken. The biggest sign is that sometimes the yellow is a little worn or the pill had white spots on it. The second is that the instant the water hits your mouth they almost instantly dissolve and you can hardly swallow the chalk in your mouth. The third and most important sign is this: if you hold a prescription pain killer up to the light it had a sort of gloss/sheen to it. The fakes do not have this. The only exception would be if the pills were REALLY old they may have lost their sheen. But for me, that is the biggest thing. Fakes are rare, but don't be so naive. INVESTIGATE. People are crazy. ## While it may be good to know the difference between fake tabl...

Hi. I'd like information comparing Percocet (Oxycodone / Acetaminophen) and Tramacet (Tramadol hydrochloride / Acetaminophen). Is Percocet a stronger more powerful pain killer than Tramacet? If so, by how much? If you have been taking Percocet are you likely to get the same effect from Tramacet? Is there a chart somewhere that compares or ranks all pain killers comparatively? If so please tell me where. Thanks - good health to you all ## The Tramadol is not actually a narcotic, it is derived from an opiated, but it is not actually one, so it is therefore nowhere near as strong as the Percocet, which contains a strong narcotic Oxycodone. ## She asked about Tramacet not Tramadol. Tramacet is an opiate as is Percocet. As for the chart listing different opiates and their strengths, I wo...

I have a prescription for Percocet that was filled 4/25/17. I have 90 pills. The directions are one every 8 hours. Is that a 30 day supply? I have a refill on file at the pharmacy that was hand carried at the same time this one was. Sometimes I need to take more than one every 8 hours. I have spinal/disc issues and a pinched nerve to boot. Just trying to figure out when it's okay to call for the next refill. I don't want to break any laws! I am surprised how out of control the drug use has become when it comes to pain killers. ## Yes, that would be 3 a day, for a 30 day supply, unless the directions say to take it as needed, then your doctor might expect it to last longer. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, s...

I am taking 10mg Oxymorphone twice a day, with Vicodin 7.5/325 for breakthrough. If I have occasion to need the Vic I take 1 tablet and it knocks me out the first day and renders me too drowsy and weak to be useful for 2 or 3 more days! Any advice/suggestions? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? All narcotics can cause sedation and drowsiness, so there's no way to say which one won't cause you such a problem. Everyone is different and the only thing you can really do is try other ones to see which one causes you the least amount of problematic side effects. Percocet might be an option that you could discuss with your doctor. It contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and the Oxycodone tends to give energy to more people than many other narcotics. I'm using Percocet right now and they aren't helping me much anymore, would Lorcet be a good pain killer to switch to ? ## it takes 15mgs of perocet to provide the same relief as 10 mgs of hydrocodone ## Percocet contain Oxycodone, and Acetaminophen, while Lorcet contains Hyrocodone with Acetaminophen. Oxycodone is stronger than Hydrocodone, so Lorcet may not work as well for pain, but it can vary from person to person. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Ref: Medline Plus Oxycodone and Medline Plus Hydrocodone Is there anything else I can help with?

So i was wondering what is the next step up in something stronger... i dont want the 10/600 dosage , Percocet just isnt for me....Can anyone help me?? ## Hi Stephen, I actually came across a chart listing all of the top pain killers, ranking them from weakest to strongest. And it looks like morphine sulfate would most-likely be the next step up from what you're taking now. Hi, My current doctor has decided that it would be best to stop my monthly prescription for 30mg percocets. I have chronic back pain from skiing injuries and other sports related problems. I have never abused or taken more than was suggested. I never got "high" and was always able to work and interact with clients in a positive way. Now without the medication, the pain is becoming a distraction. Does anyone know a doctor who isn't scared to prescribe common pain killers. They are produced for a reason, but recent uptake in illegal abuse has made doctors uneasy with long term prescriptions? I live in the Philadelphia area (main line) but I am familiar with the greater Philadelphia metro area. Thank you and kind regards. ## I think you may be confusing medication names and if ...

My girlfriend took it for a pain killer, as she had surgery on the right shoulder and right knee. You can learn more Dilaudid details here and you can learn more Opana details here. I was taking 5 mg of percocets 6 times every 24 hours. I recently tried suboxone to see if could act as a pain killer/substitute for the percocet. It made me feel like I was on an opiate but did not take away the pain. I took a 1/3 of a 8/2 mg strip over the span of 2 days. Wasn't much at all. I just want to go back to my 5mg percocets. It's been about 12 hours since I took my last little piece. Am I good to get back on my percocet regiment now? I no longer feel the effects of the suboxone, probably because I barely took any. But I didn't want to over do it because of the fact of me wanting to try out the transition first. Could someone fill me in? Thank you. ## You usually have to wait about 72 hours, before other opiates will be effective for you, again, after taking Subox...

I lost a finger on the job and i was getting a pain killer percet 10s. so the dr. cut me down to a vike and they do nothing for the pain, so i would like to find a new doctor who can prescribe the 10s because i still have pain ## Hello, Krvin! How are you? If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What is your general location? That information might enable someone to recommend a good doctor in your area. ## I recently moved from broward to palm ...

I've been on soboxone for 3 years. I'm now having a bad bout of Colitis, Very painful. Day 5 off soboxone and my Percocets are still not breaking through? Help???? ## Because suborn is a blocker . You would of had to cut back on suboxin or actually quit all together to be effected by the pain killers . so there is nothing you can do about it honey you cannot take a handful of painkillers to override the Suboxonethats where stuff gets dangerous . Also suboxin was not made to ttake three years in a row . It was supposed to be used to get off of Hard drugs ween yourself down and be over. Now you may need a detox because of ' subs ' or you need to wean yourself darling honey that's what it supposed to be a little bit less every week until nothing

Hello, I have been managing joint and joint replacement pain for years with Norco 10/325 on an as-needed basis. We are using the 10 mg because it as a smaller ratio of Tylenol than the 5/325. I have been careful to use it only as needed because I fear addiction. Recently I painfully injured my hip and needed to use pain killers more often. My doctor switched me to Percocet, which did little for the pain and gave me a huge headache. I thought maybe the headache was a fluke or had to do with switching from Norco, so I spent a 3 day weekend in a chair without any pain meds and then tried the Percocet again, but the results were the same - headache and little pain reduction. So I went back to the Norco, using it more often and in a slightly higher dose. My biggest fear became reality - I de...
