Hello I just moved to dallas tx from Oxford Connecticut in feb and I have not been able to find a reasonable enough dr to put me back on my old prescription. I was hit by a truck in my teens and my left leg was shattered and my lower back was severely damaged. I was working with a roofing company for 8 years in CT but I was severely injured last may on the job so I am now in the process of receiving workmens comp. My new injuries are due mainly to my childhood mishap so I was and am pretty much screwed for life. My dr in ct was prescibing me Percocet 30 mg for pain and xanax to help me sleep at night and I was pretty good for the past 4 yrs and was never really in much pain as I'm in now. I really need to find a good dr soon so if anyone knows one plz let me know

The Drug Enforcement Agency is making it very hard on doctors to prescribe pain medicine such as oxycodone, oxycontin, percocet and even hydrocodone. They have set new rules that go into effect May of 2016, that's this month. Unless you have a serious condition and have been on these meds for the treatment of your pain it will no longer be easy peasy getting the appropriate pain relief you need from a general practitioner... If you have sciatica with burning down the legs into the feet I suggest seeing a neurologist to treat your pain... Avoid a pain management clinic for now (until the dust settles from the new rules) if that's you I described.. A neurologist will order a emg, mri, and even a CT Scan. These will show your issues and justify a slow moderate increase in your pref...

I started taking isosorbide man er 30 mg on a Sunday, I developed what I thought was a bad bug really high fever and diarrhea. I got a little better. I even called the Dr. He said discontinue for one day and see if there was a difference. I did and didn't notice any . I got better and then about 4 days later developed severe abdominal pain and fever again. I'm being treated for diverticulitis, but waiting for a CT to confirm this. I'm just wondering if anyone has had this happen??? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Those symptoms are listed by the FDA as possible side effects of this medication, however, they could also be from Diverticulitis. Other possible side effects may include changes in vision, earache, sweating, bleeding gums and jaw pain. Have you had your CT, yet?

Had afib since 2006. Had a cardiac ablation 1 week ago. Dr put me 50mg of flecainide a day. 5 days later started severe lower back pain and severe lower a dominant pain. So bad today I had to be taken to ER in ambulance. Blood work and CT scan were normal. Heart rate was 160 in ambulance. Was released and told the pain is muscle skeletal issue. Still in lots of pain. Is this related to the flecainide? ## Hello, Traci! How are you? I'm sorry that you're so miserable. Yes, those symptoms could be due to the medication. It has been known to cause those side effects in some people that take it, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, constipation, weakness and blurred vision. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to try a different medication.

I didn't ever feel 10/325 of hydro did anything. Now I have 5/325 but have not taken it yet. I am really in pain, ihave a ct tomorrow. ## Hello, Sheryl! How are you? Yes, though it is a medication, please don't think the numbers mean anything odd, the higher the number, the higher the dose. Thus, the 5/325 isn't as strong as the 10/325. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Dear Sheryl, yes! Vernon is right. The 10/325 have double the amount of Hydrocodone than the 5/325. Tens r stronger. The 325 is just the amount of acetaminophen (Tylenol) that's in it.

Have a multitude of chronic pain issues and can not find doctor to help me.Have medical records with me. Reports from Neurologist, Rhuematologist, Pain Treatment Center, Physiatrist, MRI's, CT Scan and three years of pharmacy records. Being treated like a drug addict. Without meds for three months. (Percocet 10/325). Not functioning and very sick. Can anyone help me? ## How have you been looking for a doctor? The reason I'm asking is because the biggest mistake I see many people making in your situation is calling a new doctor and asking if they will prescribe a particular medication. If you do that, doctors and their staff will view it as drug seeking behavior and, in many cases, you won't even get in the door. What you need to do is set up an appointment with a new pain ma...

I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Have you set up an appointment with a pain specialist, yet? That's all you can really do and make sure that they receive a full copy of your most recent medical records, then keep the appointment to discuss your treatment options and see how/if they will help you. Please help me find a dr who prescribes hydrocodone. I can't find one who still follows the hypocratic oath of (first do no harm) The very day I and everyone in chronic pain with X-rays and MRI are put in harms way. Don't they realize that pain, unrelenting, 24/7 pain can take the will to live away. To have no quality of life, is to have no life at all. ## I completely understand and agree with everything you said, as I've been suffering with chronic pain for many, many years, and I receive no relief from the pain meds that I've been prescribed, except for sleepiness for a short time. Every other month or so I'm scheduled for some type of MRI, CT or x-ray. These tests very, very seldom show anything different. I have degenerative arthritis in practically every bone/j...

Does anyone know a doctor who will prescribe methadone on ct not a clinic? I cannot meet the hours for a clinic and I really need help ## Unfortunately, under current U.S. law, a private practice doctor is not allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment. They can only prescribe it for pain. You may want to consider trying Suboxone, since it doesn't require daily clinic visits. You can check for a doctor that treats with it in your area by using the search engine on the site Suboxone.com click here. The FDA classifies this mediation as an opiate, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. I am caring for my father, who has a pacemaker plus defibrillator, and is on several heart medications plus a blood thinner. He is not on any medicine for lowering blood pressure because of an allergic reaction, but it does not seem to be a problem when he gets checked at the doctors office. He is still driving, moves around the house, goes to visit friends, and checks his email. However, over the last 3+years he has gradually diminished walking due to weakness he experiences when taking about 15 steps that increases as he steps. We have been primarily going to neurologists to try and find answers, but all along, he has had over all muscle aches and pains, and about 6 months ago, started experiencing lower back pain. Again, more CT scans and x-rays to try and figure this out. Finally to...

How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. If you went to an addiction treatment doctor, so that is in your medical records, then yes, it will complicate things. Most doctors are going to be reluctant to prescribe potent medications, if they do, they are going to be very closely watched by the government and will be held responsible, if you'd develop an addiction to anything. It doesn't matter if that's not why you were taking it, if that's wha...

I've been prescribed a large dose of OxyContin, 360 mgs. per day, + 180 mgs. of Roxycodone per day. Both have been upped over three years for several problems related to my bones, and now cancer. I get terrified that I'll lose them and if I do, will the Drs. replace them? If not, what would be prescribed to get me through the withdrawals? I have heard withdrawals are horrendous and can't imagine going through that on top of cancer and my other issues. I've asked and have been told to just NEVER lose or misplace them. The rules and regulations of the pain management clinic I go to state over and over that they do not replace lost or stolen medications and do not refill early. What does someone do if it does happen? I live in CT. ## If your meds are stolen call the cops an...

I am seeking a pain dr. in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma or surrounding area that does not treat patients as criminals for needing pain meds. Broke neck in 2007 has left lasting pain in several areas of body. The pain is always with me and is unbearable at times. Our family Dr. has notified his patients he will not be giving prescriptions for pain meds any longer due to strict guidelines and clinic board complaints. ## I have heard may Drs refer to pain-laden patients as SEEKERS. THIS IS DEGRADING AND SAD. Not all patients looking for pain meds are suffering from unbearable pain; BUT, after a patient divulges what I call "PROOF OF PAIN" with numerous testing (x-rays, mri, ct scans, results-etc) and trust their chosen physician with all pertinent information to be legally and rightfull...
