I have RA and herniations of 4 disks with bone spurs off of 3 of my disks as well, I am in need of a physician that understands that there are legitimate people with documented conditions that require medications that help you live; not just survive. I am so depressed now, not just because of the pain; but because physicians treat you poorly; and as a drug seeker when they have diagnostic proof that you are in pain. I need any suggestions for a pain management physician near Atlanta, Ga ## I have a similar condition and have been seeing Dr C.B. Reddy in Griffin...about 30 miles south of Atlanta.... Shabby office, but great nurses and a doctor who not only genuinely cares about you, but listens to you...(most don't hear a word you say). He also bills only for the time that he sees yo...

I need dr in the north Atlanta area that is actually willing to write a pain prescription and not just do expensive procedures ## Hello, Kitty! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to whether or not they will prescribe medications that I can refer to for you. Generally, possibly habit forming drugs are the last choice for treatment, to be used only when the other treatment options have failed. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? With many pain specialists being overwhelmed right now, that would like be the easiest and speediest way to find the help you need.

My name is David, Ive lived in Atlanta for years and was on 1mg xanax 3x a day, and for knee replacement Percocet 10 3x a day. My Dr. Is moving and I need a Dr. quick. I live in Gwinnett Co. please help, thanks. ## Im on xanax and have been on percocet the past 8 years. My Dr. has to move and gave me 3 weeks notice. Please help. ## Hello, David! How are you? I"m sorry about the problem that you're having. Is there a chance that your doctor could refer you to a colleague, before he leaves? That might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Due to the new directives set forth by the DEA last year, most doctors are going to be reluctant to prescribe both medications and will refer you to specialists for treatment. Someone specializing in pain management, and a ps...

Need a doctor in Atlanta GA for Methadone for Pain. Its the only thing that has helped relieve back pain and without it, theres no point. Ive been on a low dose. Because of people overdosing and dying, we are now treated as criminals - and due to liability issues, doctor after doctor no longer prescribes. No doctor will help me so Im now panicking because I dont want to be in debilitating pain. Plus in our healthcare system, doctors get paid by insurance for procedures and so theyw ant to to that cuz they make more than a drug script ## Hi MAT, Here is a list of doctors who can prescribe methadone, suboxone, and subutex in the Atlanta, GA area. methadonedocs.com/methadone-suboxone-doctors/Georgia-Ga/Atlanta.aspx Also, have you ever considered trying acupuncture or essential oils? Looking for a good Pain Management dr in Atlanta. I've been going to the same dr for 8 years and out of the blue he changed his patients meds, no longer prescribing any type of Oxycodone. No matter how well it's working for the patient. He's changed mine to Opana ER and it's $1200 for the prescription, I can't find a pharmacy that stocks them and I hear they have terrible side effects. Help me find another dr please! ## let me guess is his initials D.H? dr. Da......He??? ## Opana ER contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, it is another opiate just like the Oxycodone you were taking, so it carries the risk of causing the same side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. They also carry the risk of being habit forming. R...

Need any information on what Doctors prescribe methadone.. ## Hello, Tony! How are you? If you require it for addiction/maintenance, then your only option is a clinic. A private practice doctor isn't allowed to prescribe it for that. However, if you require it for pain, then any doctor can prescribe, but most will be reluctant to do so, due to it's highly addictive tendencies. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone suggest a doctor in that area?

My pain doctor prescribed OxyContin (Oxycodone ER) 30mg for pelvic pain. However, I can't seem to find them in the Atlanta, GA surrounding area. Can someone tell me why? ## I live in the U.K. and my Dr prescribed 120 mg (5 times a day), with 40 mg for breakthrough pain. I can only assume I must be the only person on this amount as I'm having a similar issue. ## dkc, how have you been checking for it with the pharmacies? Because, if you are just calling, or even going in and asking them, without showing them your actual prescription, then you aren't likely to be getting an honest answer. To try to help prevent theft, and diversion, since this is a very commonly abused medication, they will usually just tell a random person asking that they do not carry it, or it is out of sto...

Help, I need a doctor in Atlanta Georgia that can see me pretty quick and refill my Oxycontin (which are for my 4 herniated disks that keep me in constant pain). We just relocated from Arkansas and I will be out of meds on Saturday and need a doctor quick. PLEASE HELP. ## I'm sorry, I know this type of thing is very troublesome, but due to the new laws, I doubt you're going to get in anywhere that fast to a new prescription. If you're a chronic pain patient that requires long-term pain management, a regular doctor can no longer prescribe them, they have to be prescribed by a specialist that is trained to treat pain. Learn more Oxycontin details here. And most places have gotten a lot busier since these laws were put in place and everyone has to switch to pain management. Is ...

I need a pain doctor or pain clinic who doesn't require a referral, takes Medicare and Medicaid, who will prescribe my Xanax 2mg, Dilaudid 8mg, Roxy 30, Soma 350mg. I have my paperwork from the hospital state to take these meds. I need someone in Atlanta Ga, or Roswell Ga, Lwrncvil Ga. ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. As to your medications, it is doubtful that you will find one doctor that will prescribe them all. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you need to see a specialist, so for that list, you'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist, as well as a psychiatrist for the Xanax. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dr...

Anyone a Good doctor in satx that is not scared to prescribe pain medication? I just moved here from Atlanta and im having such a hard time finding a dr, i was in a serious 18 wheeler accident and i need help are there still any caring doctors that dont treat u like a addict but like a person who has to live with chronic pain that they wanna help???

I have been prescibed oxycodone for pain from 3 surgeries. I have worked for my company for almost 7 years. I recently moved to atlanta and now im being told that I cannot work if im taking pain meds even though it has been prescribed by my doctor and I have used it for the past 5 years and never had an issue until now. Can they do that or does the law covers me can anyone help. ## Help, Jbliss! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Much of it really depends on what your job entails. There are certain jobs that are considered unsafe to perform under the influence of such medications, even if a doctor has ordered them, such as driving a truck, operating heavy machinery, or supervising those that do. There are some legal protections, but they don't apply in all ...

My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. She still has no insurance except Medicare A&B. she's almost out of meds and the pain she will experience is excruciating. The docs she has seen here all want her to jump thru hoops to make sure she's not a drug addict. How can we get her the meds she needs without spending her ssi check all on doctors who give her no help? ## @Anthony, Sorry to hear about your mom's situation. If...

I am new to Georgia. I live about 45 minutes south of Atlanta. My Dr. back home prescribed me Hydrocodone and/or Tramadol for menstrual pains. My menstrual pains have inconvenienced me 5 days a month for as long as I could remember until I met my Dr. back home. I don't want to waste the time or money going to a Dr. here for him to tell me to take 800mg Ibuprofen and call it a day. Any recommendations for doctors who are open minded to pain medication? ## Hi, Brooke! Sorry about the pain you've suffered. It isn't that doctors aren't open minded and don't want to treat pain, it's that there are restrictions on what they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it, how much they can prescribe and for how long they can prescribe it. Since this is related to your menstru...

I have "Idiopathic Small Fiber Peripheral Neuropathy" and have been fighting this HORRIFFIC PAIN since Jan 24,2012 and it took till April meeting with my Neurologist (I lived in Atlanta) to have an EMG and then a Biopsy to verify my illness. My Ga Family Practice WROTE ALL MY PAIN MEDS! I needed to leave Atlanta due to the weather and I chose Ormond Beach next to Daytona BUT AS I TRY TO FIND DRS. DOWN HERE IT IS A NIGHTMARE!! My son had his tonsils removed on 6/2/2009. He has been on this medication for 10 days for severe ear pain/throat pain especially before eating/sleeping. Is this drug addictive? Should I be concerned that he is still taking? My husband is more concerned. I would like to trust physician's recommendation in that they would not prescribe for so long if it were a concern. I need a second opinion please. ## When I worked pain management in a very large hospital in Atlanta, I was taught that if you take the medicine for pain, there is almost no risk for addiction. If, however, he is taking it for a "feeling" then there is an issue. True pain needs to be treated. I hope this helps.

My PM Dr is telling all patients he can no longer write Oxycodone beginning Jan 2017 because the DEA is controlling the supply and it will be virtually impossible to find. Does anyone know more about what is going on? I'm in Atlanta GA and I have had chronic pain since 2009 and have no idea what I will do. ## This is correct, the DEA is reducing the amount of almost all schedule 2 pain medications manufactured and available in the U.S. by 25% or more starting in 2017, this information was published in the Federal Register and a press release from the DEA itself. That doesn't mean it's going to be impossible to find, but it may become much more difficult, since that will also further limit the supply that any pharmacy will be able to have in stock each month. Sadly, I can onl...

Hello, I have been taking Synalgos DC for about 20 years and I also am suffering without it. I recently called Caraco Pharmaceuticals on March 29, 2010 and was told that the drug would be available to wholesalers this week and that pharmacies should be able to get it. I called my pharmacy and was told they do not see it yet. I am so frustrated. Like so many of you I can't wait to get this medication. It helps me so much. My doctor is giving me Tylenol with codeine which does nothing really for the pain. So frustrating! Keep calling because the last time I spoke to Caraco she said to me that she hopes that will have enough to go around which was this week March 29th because there is a demand for it. They acquired it from Mikart Pharmaceuticals in Atlanta, Georgia I was told by Caraco...
