Hello: I live about an hour from the Georgia border with Florida and due to the shut down of all the pill mills and the legitimate doctors scared by the DEA to write any scripts, I need to find a pain clinic or doctor who will write scripts for verifiable spinal injuries and pain. I have been going to the same doctor for 8 years who just retired and am heading for one big painful time not to mention a bad detox that will probably kill me.?? DUE TO ILLNESS AND HOSPITALIZATION my Dr has taken a leave of absence from practice cancelled all appointments and refused any refills. I am only on hydrocodone 10mg 5x daily. I moved to Grand Haven, Michigan almost a year ago. I have been on pain medicine for over 4 years due to rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and lupus. Please help ## Methadone Clinics do not treat chronic pain. And there is a difference between physical dependance from taking it for a long time, as with chronic pain, and the criteria used when evaluating someone for methadone maintance due to addiction, If you're able to find a dr that will treat you, they will need to get a copy of your medical records from your last dr. You didn't say why your last dr refuses to treat you. But depending of the reason, it may be almost impossible to find a dr to treat you like you have been in the past.

I was told Friday by my Pain Management Doctor at my monthly appointment that the DEA was implementing a new law dictating to doctors on how much pain medication they could prescribe per patient per day. It could be equal to no more than 120 mg of Morphine per day per patient and they had to comply within 3 months for all of their patients. I am trying to find out as much information on this as possible. I don't know if my Pain Management Doctor is stating fact or if he is just running scared and if he is stating fact, I don't know if this is federal or state (Alabama) mandated.
