Does anyone know a good pain doctor or clinic in columbus, ohio who isnt afraid to prescribe meds? My Doc just got his license revoked, Thanks ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach in my opinion, is to discuss up front and honestly what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Mos...

Another thing to keep in mind is to not ask them to prescribe any specific medication, when you call a new doctor to set up an appointment, because most doctors will consider that to be drug seeking behavior. ## I live near Coeur d'Alene ID and the only pain management treatment available here is a gestapo clinic that gives you painful cortisone injections-they won't increase your dosages, and then if you are taking more than your prescribed dose-they cut you off! need specifics on docs who prescribe oxycontin in Cleveland, oh area ## There are no listings of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that can be searched for you. Technically, any doctor can prescribe it, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require it on a long-term ongoing basis for the management of chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then the easiest thing to do would be to ask them to refer you to someone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Most do but few do it illegally and also won't prescribe it...

Hello. I'm in severe pain. Need doctors from Youngstown Ohio Canton Akron + Cleveland + western Pa. My doctor got arrested now I'm left with no doctor. Anyone know where I could go? Please let me know. Thank you. ## May I ask the name of the Dr you were seeing? I don't think I'm supposed to drop names here but I'd be happy to give you names of those located here. You can very likely do a Google search for pain managers in the area. Why not have your pcp refer you somewhere? You're going to need some kind of referral there's no question of that. They don't make appointments for new patients over the phone without a faxed referral and very likely will request the records come from the referring Dr. Why? They don't trust that the patient hasn't made ...

Does anyone know a dr. or pain dr. that is willing to prescribe this to me..Either in Col, ohio, or Springfield ohio!! Thanks for your time!! ## You'll most likely need to see a pain management specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place at the beginning of the year. Due to the increased rates of over prescribing and improper prescribing, the DEA and FDA are making it harder for general practitioners and surgeons to prescribe such medications for long-term use and most people that need them must be referred to pain management. Due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, if you require medications on a long-term basis for pain management, you'll need to see a specialist. Please help me find a Doctor that can just give me what I need. ## Hi, Amanda! I'm sorry you're having such problems. There are probably several issues at play here that are causing them. One is that due to the increasing rates being found of improper prescribing and over prescribing, general practitioners and surgeons are being transitioned away from prescribing medications like Norco for long-term pain management. An attempt is underway to transition those to only being used for short pe...

Doctors who are willing to prescribe pain medication in Cleveland Ohio ## Hello, Anna! How are you? Unfortunately, with the stricter regulations that were put in place last year, most doctors are going to be very reluctant to prescribe controlled substances on a long-term ongoing basis for an uninsured patient. The reason being that it makes it much easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. If you did get a doctor to prescribe, most pharmacies won't fill them for cash paying patients, anymore, due to the pharmacy hopping reason. It's far harder to control and keep track of the prescriptions of someone that's paying cash, as opposed to someone with insurance. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly?
