Pain Doctor Utah

I moved from TN to Utah and I'm having problems finding a doctor who is taking on new patients. I have been on 60 100mg morphine 2x a day and 120 20mg oxycodone 4x a day since 2009 after breaking my back in several places. Can anyone offer any advice? Even with being on disability supporting MRIs, X-rays, etc they still want to do another surgery. Unless something new comes out I'm not willing to try surgery again. I just want to stay on what worked and not have them say physical therapy or acupuncture will fix everything because it won't. I moved from Tennessee to Utah and need find a doctor here that will prescribe me exactly what I'm already on. i get 60 100mg morphine 2x a day and 30 200mg morphine 1x a day and 120 20mg oxycodone 4x a day. don't want start with new dr and him start me out on low dosage that's not gonna do me any good. i don't want waste my time. they can see my file so i don't see what the problem would be of giving me what I'm already taking. ## Hello, Renee! Been on 60mg of methadone for the past 12 years, been seeing alta pain clinic in Sandy, Utah. I provided them with a copy of the EKG that I have an upper gi burning that they wanted to run few tests and one of them was EKG last August one of the urgent care after hours because it was on the weekend, alta pain been asking me to get an EKG for the past few months and i gave them the one I had by urgent care, when they looked at EKG they said oh you're fine you're very lucky because your heart is fine and it's okay, all the sudden as of January 1st visit He tells me that oh you have a QT prolongation your hearts we want to switch your med's, anyway they put me on Opana er 30 mg twice a day with a cocktail of oxycodone Ir 10mg 4 times a day and 10 mg Valium three times a day...

I've had chronic pain for fifteen years and been on many types of medications, opiate and non-opiate. When I changed insurance and couldn't see my regular doctor, I ran out of fentanyl patches and oxycodone. I had never abused my medication, but after going through a few days of horrible withdrawals, I became desperate and made the dumb mistake of trying H. That was three months ago and I'm too ashamed and embarrassed to attempt to try a new pain specialist. I did go to a suboxone clinic for about a week, but the pain was too unbearable and I went back to the dope. I have really bad veins, plus I'm not good at inj's. so I have bad bruises and marks. I want to get on legitimate pain meds, even methadone if that's all I can get. I can't go on like this anymore ...

As I read through the sometimes heartbreaking threads, I find myself wondering why it is so hard from the Mid-West through the East Coast, to find a physician and or pain mgt DR to prescribe narcotics to us folks, the chronically ill??? So far, and God willing, it has not yet been like that on the West Coast, specifically California. Please shed some light, and better yet, what can I do to help? I am moving back to Las Vegas from Utah (where they have about stripped me of all my meds) and I really need a doctor who will prescribe my meds. I am currently on Percocet 15, Morphine 45, and Soma. My amounts have been cut in half and I used to get morphine 60mg. My next visit they are cutting me off the soma. That is the only muscle relaxer that has ever worked for me. I was hurt when a ride malfunctioned at Disneyland (screwed by lawyer), which resulted in neck and back surgery and I also have Lupus and Crest Syndrome. I do not go an hour without being in pain.
