Pain Doctor Cash Paying

If you cant find a pain management doctor who takes your govt. ins. And you pay cash for a pain doctor, will you lose you govt. ins.? ## Hello, If the pain doctor won't take your insurance, I don't see why they would penalize you for paying cash. Since they don't take the insurance, then you don't really have any other choice. I'm sure every pain center/insurance policy is different though, so there is no way I can fully answer that question for you. Have you called the Government program that provides your insurance? I'm sure that if you let them know about your situation, they will work with you. Good luck!

i do not have ins and im in pain all day everyday does anyone know a dr who will take a patient with cash that needs pain meds ## Any doctor can take cash and since it is legal tender, they are supposed to accept it. If you can pay for the appointments needed, then it doesn't matter if you do or do not have insurance, though they may ask you to prove that you can pay for them, or to pay in advance, which is their right. The same is true of getting prescriptions filled, the pharmacy can't refuse yours just because you are paying cash, rather than using insurance. Learn more pain management details here. Paying cash, however, does not remove someone from the government oversight radar, all prescriptions for controlled substances would still be tracked. If you'd like someone to...

Doctors who are willing to prescribe pain medication in Cleveland Ohio ## Hello, Anna! How are you? Unfortunately, with the stricter regulations that were put in place last year, most doctors are going to be very reluctant to prescribe controlled substances on a long-term ongoing basis for an uninsured patient. The reason being that it makes it much easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. If you did get a doctor to prescribe, most pharmacies won't fill them for cash paying patients, anymore, due to the pharmacy hopping reason. It's far harder to control and keep track of the prescriptions of someone that's paying cash, as opposed to someone with insurance. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, they might be able to refer you to someone that can help. Can an...

My husband and I are moving to Naples, FL on Nov.1st and I need to find a doctor who will continue to prescribe me the 180mg of ms contin I take per day. My husband takes methadone 60mg per day for chronic pain and he needs a doctor also. We will not have insurance there so we will be paying cash. I would appreciate any real referrals. ## At this time in Florida you aren't likely to have much of a problem finding a doctor to prescribe them, but getting them filled will likely be the issue. There has been no official word on what is going on there, but people all over the state have been complaining about not being able to get their prescriptions filled for any narcotic analgesics. Hey I just moved from pa to ky and looking for a dr that will prescribe my oxycodone 30mg that I have been on for years.. I haven't had any luck finding a dr that will prescribe my meds. I have had several back surgeries and need another surgery but don't have insurance right now. Does anyone know of any doctor around here that will prescribe my meds? I have medical records and MRIs that prove I need surgery and in severe pain!! ## Hi, Sasha! Unfortunately, without insurance it is going to continue to be difficult to find a doctor willing to prescribe it and, if you do find one, you'll be on another adventure to find a pharmacy that will fill it. Paying cash is one way that people have used to doctor and pharmacy hop, in other words to scam and get multiple prescriptions for...

I have spinal cord damage spinal stenosis too many things to list I had a fusion done on my,neck for c4 to c7 lost,my blue cross insurance so there for, lost my pain management Dr I love in Louisiana and I'm in desperate need of a doctor to help if anyone has any suggestions please, let me,know ## Look for Pain Mangement Drs in your area. Ask if they accept cash pay patients, some do and some don't. You will need a copy of your medical records from your previous dr. If you were dismissed for breaking a pain contract or other rules, it will be very difficult, if not impossible to find a dr to manage your pain. ## Did you ever find a doctor that accepts cash paying patients/no insurance? I'm getting desperate

I know that generic Norco is weak. How can I get the real ' name brand' meds? ## If you're paying cash, you can just tell the pharmacy that you want the name brand only. However, if you have insurance, your doctor will need to write the prescription as 'brand medically necessary', or whatever the equivalent is in your state. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, not all generics are problematic. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have already asked Costco and the hospital pharmacy for name brand, and they say they don't have the code to order name brand for narcotics. Just moved need pain mgmt. doctor who takes cash and walkins ## Hello, NewHere! How are you? I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you're not going to find a walk-in pain management clinic, anymore. They are strictly monitored by the government, now. Most will even balk if you're paying cash, because it makes it easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. The easiest way to find the help you need would be to set yourself up with a PCP and then have them refer you to someone. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

Looking for dr with maintenance license near Charleston wv instead of paying cash at clinic for chronic pain ## Hello, Shena! How are you? Under current FDA law, private practice doctor's are not allowed to prescribe Methadone for addiction, or maintenance treatment. Only medical professionals that are specially trained to treat with it are allowed to do so, and only in a clinical medical setting. They can prescribe it for pain, but if someone has ever gone to a clinic and been treated with it, regardless of whether or not it was for addiction treatment, or pain, that is listed in your medical records and regular PCPs, or pain management professionals are not allowed to prescribe it. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as...

I live in upper Michigan (sault ste. Marie), I do NOT have insurance, i AM prescribed low level medication (Tramadol) for pain, however, am seriously interested in finding the closest doctor to upper Michigan (yet one that genuinely cares about his patients), that only prescribes or also prescribes methadone for addiction. As long as paying cash for a doctor visit, a script, etc... isn't an outrageous amount, I am willing to travel to wherever (the closer to northern mi., the better / easier). This is my first time ever inquiring about something like this, and have NO clue at all where to start. Name and / or phone number to doctors office, city etc... and ANY other info would help and be greatly appreciated. thank you. ## In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I have listed bel...

The doctor prescribed me Percocet and the pharmacy gave me the generic which is oxycodone/acetaminophen 5-325. What's the difference in the 2? Also idk why the pharmacy gave me the generic, can they change it? ## Under current U.S. laws, your pharmacy has to give you the generic, if one is available, unless you are paying cash for a medication and ask them to give the name brand. Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, so you have received the correct medication. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I have been seeing the same painmanagment Dr 3years. They were forced by NJ family care to discharge me because I pay cash to see him. He is very reasonable with his offfice visit fee. This new law is complete bulls***! I have to drive over an hour just to get my medication refilled. I am not like all the others who have 3 and 4 different meds to fill. I only have the one as I told my doctor I did not want to be on a bunch of meds that I would become hooked on but this is just a bigggg pain in the ass to have to call every walmart and pharmacy in town and 2 towns out just to get a script filled. this is just a waste of time. And costing us as patients more money as my doctor has now moved my appointments to every other month instead of every 3 months and I am a cash paying customer as I have no insurance to help with anything. Someone needs to give the DEA a brain and let them see all the trouble they are putting those of us who are responsible with our medications th...
