Does anyone know a pain management doctor in Memphis or north MS, that will prescribe pain killers, that is not afraid of the FDA. I am self pay and have no insurance and have had R.A. for over 20 years. In horrible pain. My last doctor would only give me Lortab 10. Which I have built up a tollirance too. ## I may not have a PM doctor that I can personally refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as locating pain management doctors within your general area. Today I was informed by my pain specialist in Knoxville Tn. I am being booted out. I have substantial medical proof of need for chronic pain. 5 yrs. of perfect urine , no missed appts. etc. A nurse practitioner pushed my buttons in the wrong manner. Told me I had 3 warnings for short medicine. Highest shortage was 7 pills. I've never asked for and early refill. 2 failed surgeries in my lower back , spinal cord damage in cervical as my arm is numb 70% of the time. I was supposed to have surgery after the holidays to correct this. I am 63yrs. old and without a compassionate Dr. I will loose most quality of life. I am not demanding certain medicines as many do. My daily dosage for 4 yrs. has been 4 10mg. IR Oxycodone and 1 12 hr. Morphine 15mg. 2x per day. Is there anybody in the Knoxv...

I need to find a new pain clinic in Knoxville TN. The doctor at my clinic now is of the philosophy of 60 mg total of meds a day. He does not believe in tolerance. I have been on meds for 4 years now and can attest to the idea of tolerance. Does anyone know a clinic that does not use this philosophy? Does procedures? Takes tenncare? I am desperate! I have let my pain get too out of control and need to do something before I lose my job to being in too much pain! ## Hello, Fedup! How are you? Unfortunately, that's not likely to change, even if you see a different doctor. There were new directives set forth by the DEA last year that instruct doctors to limit the amount of medications prescribed for pain to a certain amount a day, with exceptions only being made for those that suffer int...

need a pain clinic in tn alabama ,doctor just closed was on 100 mg morphine 90 a month 180 roxicodone a month need doctor immediately close to tn Al border if anybody has a cash pay or insurance doctor 4000 patient going crazy please help ## Hello, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach in my o...

who or what Dr. can write a referral to a pain clinic in knoxville, tn? ## Hello, Angela! How are you? Really, any doctor that has documented why you're in pain can write one. Though generally, it is expected to come from your PCP, since they are the ones most familiar with your medical history. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, having them refer you to someone would be the best thing to do. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?

Chronic pain in knees, elbows, neck (also degeneration). Holding down a job with this pain is impossible. Interfers with sleep, walking, standing, just plain daily living. I have a disabled child (5 yrs. & 70 lbs.) and has to be lifted. Pain from doing this is unbearable. Depression is a real problem. No doctor will treat me, have no insurance or money. Right at this time, I can't afford the meds or the doctor, but I need the help desperately. ## @horsefly, Sorry to hear about this intense pain you've been dealing with. Have you considered looking into any types of patient assistance programs or things of that nature? From what I understand, there are some drug manufacturers who offers these programs for patients who can't afford the full cost of their medication(s). It...

I have been taking methadone 20mgs. twice a day, plus 10mgs of oxycodone 4 times a day for the breakthrough pain. This has been my regimen for over 2 years now. But before I was only on methadone by itself since aug of '99. I went from 140 mgs. down to 70 and now I am down to 40. I need to find a pain clinic closer to home. Maybe in TN or Lexington, Ky. Does anybody know of one in these locations? I would greatly appreciate the help.

Does anyone know of pain clinics that take out of state patients? Also looking to get put on opanas, or something like that. Been on loratab 1000's for 15 years and they don't do the job anymore. I realy hope someone out there knows someplace in GA or TN. Hope to hear from you soon and thanks. ## First off, there are no Lortab tablets that contain 1,000mgs of anything. And next is a question, why aren't you looking in your home state? Even if you do find a doctor that will treat you, when you're from out of state, most pharmacies will not fill your prescription under such circumstances. ## I am looking for a pain management dr in the Saginaw area who takes out of state claims from New Jersey, I' m thinking about relocating from Delaware. As of May 1, my PCP will no longer treat chronic pain. I developed rsd/crps several years ago after surgery. I was referred to a pain clinic; PT; several modalities. Finally got pain manageable with Fentanyl Patches and Hydrocodone. Multiple weaning attempts, but pain was too much. Almost 2 years ago, I was able to wean off of the patches. So now, just using hydrocodone. It keeps pain tolerable most days. I am awake, alert and fully functional. I take 20 mg four times a day. As a critical care and hospice nurse for 30+ years, I know risks and ramifications. I also know I CANNOT tolerate 24/7/365 pain. I just need someone who will continue the regimen that has worked for me for years. I have done it all; biofeedback, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, etc.. I am on full term disability du...

I've been in PM for 8yrs and in that time I've only ever been to 3 clinics and never have I've been dismissed for anything other than insurance issues. Never broken any rules anywhere. I've been on fentanyl patches 150 all 8 years. My current clinic that I've been with for more than a year, all the sudden said I would be going way down on the patches. Their reason is health department guidelines and my MEDD score was too high. Told me the acceptable range for patients will not exceed 180. Their only reason was this MEDD score. After a year of giving me 150 all the sudden this. Is this just middle TN or are most pm doctors doing this? And if you have a Dr who isn't doing this, please let me know. I have great insurance and can go most anyplace. I'm now down to...
