pain clinics authority
Can apain clinic take your opana before they agree to treat you?they took 55out of 60 opan30 i brought too first appt. as i was told to bring all my meds.i was given a script of oxycontin 10mg2/day told take script leave opana or take opana and leave script. i just had major back surgery18 days prior please help ## Well, they really gave you the option, take one or the other. And yes, they are allowed to do so, it's considered a contractual agreement for treatment and most clinics do this. IE: If you want them to treat you, your part of the agreement is that you will not take any controlled substance medications other than what they prescribe for you. If you don't agree, you leave and they don't treat you. These agreements are also usually very, very strict. Some go as far a... ...

Is Oxycontin the same as MS Contin?
My best friend, who introduced me to her surgeon that performed my 360 fusion, was recently forced to return to PM due to pain from numerous back problems including but not limited to Bone spurs, bulging discs, curvature of the spine and more..., Her PM clinic is about an hour away from mine. Anyhow, he had her on Oxycodone 15 MG IR 4 times a day and he recently added Oxycontin 30mg ER twice a day due to her not having much relief from just the 15 mg pills. It made all the difference in her level of pain and I had my friend back :) When she went to fill at the pharmacy (CVS) she has always used due to them being next door to the clinic, she was told she would have to go to a pharmacy in her county (next exit down) as could no longer fill for her out of county (we are in TN and first we ... ...

I am 4 months pregnant and just statred taking Methadone for pain after being hooked on oxycodone and oxycontin sense before pregnancy.
I just started taking methadone a couple days ago for pain because I was in a pain clinic taking Oxycodone (perks) and Oxycontin (extended release perks) both at 10mg 3x a day but I would take more than prescribed because it didnt help my pain at that amount alone. Then I found out i am pregnant and those meds are category B in the FDA database so its safer to take them while pregnant but I missed one appointment at the pain center that i didnt even know about they made an appointment for me without seeing if i could make it and didnt notify me prior to the appointment day so of course i missed it. Then they kicked me out and said i refused a pill count that i didnt even know i had i mean C'MON thats stupid. but anyway before that happened my doctor put me on this Butrans patch 5 mi... ...

from wi on 110 mg Oxycontin and cant find a doctor
I am on a regime from wisconsin pain clinic it works great and I get a quality of life. The AR doctors want to screw around with something that works. I need a Dr. to pick up where other drs were doing and now AR dont want to RX oxycontin or oxycodone. What is the beef? Where can I go. ## The main problem is that it is a medication that is quite commonly diverted and abused. Thus, it is under strict government control and all prescriptions they write for controlled substances must be reported to the federal government. If, for some reason, the government thinks they prescribed it for the wrong reasons, then they can face serious sanctions or the loss of their medical license. In this case, you really can't blame doctors for being extra careful. Did you bring your medical records and... ...

doctor that prescribes oxycontin in san francisco?
I am trying to find a doctor in san francisco, ca that isnt going to be a huge hassle in prescribing oxycontin....anyone know a good doctor? I have full insurance ## I am not familiar with doctors in California, but if you have a legitimate reason to have it, you may just want to look into pain management clinics. They are generally more open to prescribing such medications, than regular doctors. Most doctors have to worry, because they government closely supervises their prescribing practices and they are held responsible if found to prescribe certain drugs for invalid reasons. Oxycodone is a very potent narcotic analgesic. Common side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more here: Does anyone else know any doctors in that area? ## I think online is a... ...

looking for a family dr to manage pain in indiana
My family dr died the day before my appt. I have been going to him for 10 years and he had managed my pain with oxycontin and percocet. It seems a lot has changed in 10 years trying to find a dr and it seems that pain clinics that want to run you through mill with expensive unecesary tests are the only options. If anyone knows of a dr who is realistic and understand chronic pain in the Southern indiana or Louisville ky area any reccomendations would be appreciated. Thanks ## I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, a PCP is not going to be able to prescribe such medications for you. I have medicare and access insurance, Thank You. ## Hello, Dennis! How are you? Any doctor can prescribe Methadone for pain, but most are very reluctant due to the fact that it is so highly addictive. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? Pain Doctors Alabama
My dr in mont al has been prescribing me 3 80mg oxycontin for several years. My visit last wk he refilled my scrip and said it could be the last because he was told there was diversion possibly coming from his practice.Btw that was 3 a day. If he doesn't refill my scrip on my next visit. I need to find a DR quick. Is it legal not to wean a patient off? The pain clinics in this town are full. ## If he cannot continue to prescribe, he should be able to refer to another doctor or clinic that will accept his current patients. Has he suggested anyone? And yes, it is perfectly legal for a doctor to stop prescribing your medications, even if they are habit forming, at any time. They are not obligated to treat you or prescribe anything, unless you are in life threatening danger. As a courtes... ...

Pain Medication Abuse
"Purdue Pharma recently announced it is conducting clinical trials on OxyContin in children. Immediately some have criticized, suggesting that the exposure to opioids at an early age will inevitably lead to addiction later in life. The larger issue that was missed is that there are times opioids are necessary for children. Children in intensive care units, emergency rooms, post operatively or in rehab often require strong analgesics. These are children with cancer, with severe burns, with sickle cell anemia or other conditions. It would be cruel and inhumane to leave children untreated who experience extraordinary amounts of pain. Of course opioids should not be the first line of therapy if an alternative is available, but they may be the only way to provide relief. So the question ... ...
