can i order these off line?if so what web site do i go to? ## Hello, Heather! How are you? No, you cannot, since this is a controlled substance, which requires a doctor's prescription. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I live in Oak Ridge TN have a legit prescription for 60 oxymorphone ER 20 mg. Doctor is within 20 miles of my residence. Does anyone know where I might be able to fill them? ## Unfortunately, there is no directory of pharmacies that have any given medication in stock that I can refer to for you. The only thing you can really do is physically go to them, with the prescription in hand, to see if anyone has it in stock. If you call them, they won't give you an honest answer, because they have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is an actual customer with a need, or a potential thief. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone please help. I am going through transitioning doctors and Insurances. Currently no Insurance. long story short I am having to pay for my prescription of 120 Oxymorphone er 40mg. Yet the lowest I can find is still around $600 !!! With discount card. Yikes!! My research has found there are NO programs available. I have found Discount cards, but nothing substantial. Does anyone have a good lead? I'm grateful I am down to a single pain med. But financially its straining. ## I know exactly how you feel because I've been in the very same situation. That certainly is a ridiculous price. Honestly, the best option is to consider discussing with your pain doctor the possibility of switching to a different pain medication once you get settled with a new doctor because there are ...

i am alergic to morphine and my doctor just put me on oxymorphone. he said i would be ok. does anyone know anything about this whether i will be ok with oxymorphone. i haven't taken any yet don't pick them till tomorrow. thanks. ## Hello, Rosco! How are you? It is an opiate, but not the same as Morphine. However, when someone is allergic to one medication, there is always a risk that they will discover more that they're allergic to, but the only thing you can do is try it and see. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. My dr knows that I need three disk replacement but he keeps giving me Norco 10. I need something stronger and to them is like I can't give you anything stronger. What should do ## Unfortunately, due to the risk of abuse of such medications, many doctors will not prescribe anything stronger, anymore. It's too hard for many of them to adequately monitor the patient, if they have a busy practice. Have you considered pain management? That would likely be your best option to get the help you need. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

How long does it take to work, have 30 oxycodone for break thru pain! I used to take Opana 40Mg ER & seemed to work better, or faster! Broke back in service, then in 1975, again in 2002, with 12mmx8mm rupture @ L3-4 & fragment in nerve root @ L3-4, moderate severe spinal stenosis From C3 to L-5, crippled up but 77 Sept 11, 2017 & I don't want operations (to be gutted like fish been told by doctors!) & I have diabetes & heart problems too! Help, what is best for severe pain, 24-7 with terrible neoupathy down left leg, thigh to foot! ## It really varies from person to person. A time released medication is slowly released over the dosage period, so it may not alleviate all of your pain immediately. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit f...

Been on every pain pill off and on for 19 years. Insurance will not cover Oxymorphone Er. What other pain pills work the same? I was taking 20mg 2x a day. ## Hello, Kevin! How are you? I am sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Which other ones have you tried? There is a variety available, including Oxycodone, Morphine, Dilaudid, and Tramadol, so you can ask your doctor about trying other options. The FDA warns that they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

My physician recently prescribed 20mg of Oxymorphone 2X a day with 10mg Oxycodone for breakthrough pain up to 3 a day. My question is what is equivalent strength of the Oxymorphone to the Oxycodone? Dr. Made it seem like it's very strong, which initially was in first month but now 3 months later, not as much. I do have multiple pain issues, not just back pain. Still I find myself taking all 3 Oxycodone for quite a bit of breakthrough pain. Dr is acting as if I shouldn't need but 2 for in between. Any thoughts? ## Hello, Bel! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Oxymorphone is actually twice as strong as Oxycodone, so it's a 2 to 1 ratio. 20mgs of Oxymorphone equals 10mgs of Oxycodone. However, it is normal for your doctor to want you to use the least amount po...

I take subutex for opiate addiction but I'm still in chronic pain. Will oxymorphone be blocked by buprenorphine in subutex like it blocks other full opiate agonists? ## Hello, Robin! How are you? No, it isn't the Buprenorphine that blocks anything. I believe you're actually thinking of Suboxone, which contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone, it is the Naloxone that blocks other opiates, not the Buprenorphine. Subutex doesn't contain the Naloxone, so it doesn't block them. Oxymorphone is also a very potent narcotic, so you shouldn't take it, without your doctor's approval and supervision. If you're being treated for addiction, it may also be against the rules of your treatment contract. Is there anything else I can help with? *These medications carry the risk ...

I’m taking Oxymorphone 5mg five times a day and it’s barely relieving my low back, neck & sciatica pain anymore. My problem is I have Kaiser Permanente insurance. Ever since the Opioid Crisis, the Pain Management Dept. protocol is to get every patient OFF ALL OPIOIDS. However, my Primary Care Doctor is much more sympathetic & is in charge of prescribing my pain medications. She has tried to help & support from other departments to no avail. Do you think Vicodin ES could be added to my Oxymorphone regimen? I found some old Vicodin ES & have been cutting them in half, & taking them with my Oxymorphone 5mg on really rough days. When my Worker’s Comp Doctor was treating me for this injury, before the WC Insurance stopped treating me, he sometimes had me...

I have been taking oxymorphone er 2 tabs a day, 10mg each. I have 26 vicodin 7.5/325 per month for breakthrough. It's not enough. Both knees and lower back hurt. I have suggested changing to oxycodone 20mg (for breakthrough instead of vicodin) 1 or 2 a day, or raise the dose of oxymorphone to 30mg, or 1 or 2 oxymorphone ir per day, Please, please I invite anyone to make a pain regimen for me, I have to do something! Lisa12 ## Hello, Lisa! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the pain you're suffering from. However, only your doctor can make a pain management regimen for you. Can oxymorphone 40mg with an imprint of G74 be broken to where I can take a quarter of the pill? They seem too strong... I told the Dr and then he gave me Ultram - no happy medium. ## No, it is not safe to cut or break this tablet, since it is a time released formulation of Oxymorphone. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have you tried the Tramadol to see if it works for you? ## There are much lower doses of the oxymorphone. It's surprising your doctor started you on the highest dose. I'd try maybe the 20mg. That's if you are still looking for that medium.

How come my Dr keeps telling me that with oxymorphone 40mg you do not get breakthrough meds and refuses to give me anything else.Been on same dose over. 3years and meds do not work like they used to.Is it just me who deals with extremely strict guidelines. I know others are getting BT meds and he thinks I'm dumb.Is 3years too soon to expect med increase? ## Hello, Joe! How are you? No, you are not the only one dealing with this, there have been many people complaining about it all over the U.S. The amount of time it takes for someone to become tolerant to a medication and need an increase can vary from person to person, so there is no time frame for that. What type of doctor are you seeing? Is he a pain specialist or a PCP?

I have to find a new pain mgmt Dr asap, my last pain mgmt group stopped taking my insurance last month. Any info on pain mgmt drs in nashville (smyrna, murfreesboro, etc...) or the surrounding cities that will keep me on my current meds? It's taken a year to find the right combo, to control my pain and let me live a semi-normal life. And I know many drs are scared to write for the oxymorphone hcl er. Thank you! I really appreciate any help! ## Have you found a good pain mgmt in the Nashville area? My current ofc (C.P.S.) just notified me of their closing. They gave me 1 extra month of scripts but no referral or idea of where to go. I currently am on 160mme. Can anyone recommend a pain management doctor in mid-Tennessee? Any help is much appreciated.

I would really like to know because my 1 pain med is gettin weak for me. ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? It is a different narcotic, but is distantly related, so there is no way to say whether you will or will not have another reaction. Has your doctor prescribed it for you? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## i am allergic to morphine/ can i take oxymorphone. ## I hope you found your answer but I wanted to say I to am allergic to morphine but I am able to take oxymorphone

What other drugs contain oxymorphone. And what is a normal dosage amount for someone in severe pain from 8 hip surgeries and 2 back surgeries? She's 58 years old with hbp that's controlled with medication. No other health problems. ## Hello, Nana! How are you? Opana is the available name brand for it, though it is also available as a generic, there is also a time released formulation. As to the dosage, there is no hard and fast rule for that, it depends on the person, the severity of their pain and how opiate tolerant they are, so it's best that she take whatever dosage her doctor has prescribed to see how well it works for her. I had been on 10 mg oxymorphone for 2 years due to 6 failed lower lumbar back surgeries and 2 neck surgeries, one which left me with a cage and disc replacements. The tightness and pain I feel daily is excruciating. I am 55 years old and can barely get out of bed each morning. So when the laws changed recently on the mg of opioids allowed daily (under 200mg) it changed my life. The doctor prescribed a smaller dose to meet the criteria. So I was on oxymorhpone 10 mg from global pharm with no problems for 2 years. 2 days ago when I started the 5 mg oxymorphone from Aurobindo (Aurolife) pharm manufacturer from India, I have been sick with stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and a headache. I didn’t take it for 7 hours and realized that I felt a little better as the hours went by but as s...

## My insurance is running out. Are there discount programs for oxymorphone? ## Oxymorphone is still being made. They pulled the brand because it's easily abused. ## Both the brand name (Opana) and the generic are still available. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Tucker, I am sorry, but discount programs are rarely offered for controlled substances, especially once they are available as generics, since by their very nature, they are already cheaper. Some companies occasionally offer them, but it is not a common thing, and even then, they only offer them, until the generic becomes available. Have you asked your doctor about trying a cheaper alternat...

I have bad anxiety and I take both Oxymorphone HCL 5mg as well as Oxymorphone HCL 10mg ER painkillers. I take 5 Oxymorphone hcl 5mg pills a day for breakthrough pain and Oxymorphone HCL 10mg ER twice a day. I also take 5 mgs of Valium once a day. Is that ok if I spread everything out? ## Hi Lisa, According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), taking Oxymorphone with Valium is generally not recommended and may cause problems with your breathing. Because the potential for interaction is reportedly very high, they encourage patients to contact their doctor about adjusting the dose and/or frequency of dosing to help mitigate possible risk factors. Oxymorphone is said to have an estimated half life of 8 hours. So spreading things out sounds to me li...
