I have posted before about these meds which are the most effective rescue meds available (though not here in the UK) from my OxyContin, which only lasts a maximum of six hours and not the 12 as stated on the box, so need up to three rescue dosages of a suitable 4-hour action analgesic daily. First, can anybody tell me if the much cheaper TEVA US generic oxymorphone is up to the quality standard of the excellent Endo IR OPANA 10mg (and occasionally I need 5mg tablets as well)? What is the best value for money brand of hydromorphone IR high dosage (4mg and 8mg)? I know that the original Abbott/Purdue DILAUDID is by far best, but I hear good things about Ethex and Mallinckrodt's generics. Mallinckrodt also tend to be a lot cheaper than most generic opioids. I have a terminal condition, so what do I have to lose by identifying myself? Nonetheless, please respect my privacy. It appears that Roxane manufactures/did manufacture Levorphanol under the trade name Levo-Dromoran and may be available outside the USA. The biochemical characteristics of this drug indicate that it might be a favorable replacement for the Oxymorphone that I take now. Apparently it can be compounded by a specialty pharmacy, but could a prescription be filled under the present circumstances for a manufactured form? ## I did, in fact, receive an e-mail from a representative at Boehringer Ingelheim USA indicating that Levorphanol tartrate is currently manufactured in a generic version by Roxane Laboratories.
