I have really bad back pain and I have been seeing my doctor for about three years. I have tried just about every med that there is. I finally settled with oxycodone 30mg. It has been a life saver for me. I now can work without pain. Lately, I have been experiencing it not working and that disappoints me because now I am starting to have more pain. Is it possible that I have become used to the medication and it is not working anymore??? Is 30 mg the maximum dose? I am now taking 30mg every 4-6 hours. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? ## Lakeka, unfortunately i had the same issues. After time, it seemed my tolerance for the oxycodone grew, and it became less and less effective. What is the new drug op that is substitute for OC .what is the diffence?? ## It is the new version, called Oxycontin OP, it is specially designed to prevent abuse. Even if someone crushed or chews it, it will retain its time released nature, but still work the same. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. i've been on the op oxycotin for a month and i am very disoppointed with the pain releafe i'm getting compared to the oc brand and i also get cramps in my legs and it doesent last for a complete 12 hours you should go back to the oc brand i my self are going to change meds ## this site does not manufacture nor sell any medications, this is an information website. I was involved in a car accient last year and am now working with a Pain Manage clinic. I have had injections upon injections, epiderals, blah blah and now they belive it is a tear in my disc between L4 and L5. Needless to say VERY painful. The most recent visit has placed me on Oxy AGAIN. I acutally took myself off them a few months ago because the pain was not getting ANY less... actually the same if not worse regardless of how many or mg increase. At 20 mg 2 X day I said I am done and started to only take 1 them none. That was miserable... Switched Doctors.. told him all of this and what does he do .. BACK ON THE OXY.. I took a 40 mg oxycotin about 2 hours ago by mistake. My hubby didnt take his meds today and put it back in the wrong bottle. He put it in my bottle of flexeral muscle relaxer and boy did I know it about 30 minutes later. I didnt know what was wrong with me for a while until I talked to him and he told me he put the pill in the bottle in the front which is my meds. I take 6 15 mg oxycodone a day and 2 flexeril. Tomorrow I go in to get my meds refilled and a epidural and I am so worried it will show up in my UA. My doc here in Kansas sends off the ua and has it checked for levels to make sure folks are taking their medicine and I would never risk getting kicked from the clinic. I was on my computer aand my sons page was up and he had a picture of a pill yellow with 40 on on side and abc or abg on the other what is that? ## That is a genric Oxycotin.. if your son had it on his page.. you need to be concernd they are the most highest habit forming type of narotic and the reason i say this for i have had a battle with them for years. What is equal in mgs? I have been prescribed a 60 mg. of OxyCotin ER. Now the dr. is suggesting I use 30 mgs. of Morphine Sul ER. Can you give me the mgs. that equals the 60 mg.OxyCotin ER . I've been taking (4) 80 mg of oxycotin for over 10 years. My insurance changed rules and put me at 50% payment which is $900. I can't afford that. So the Docter wrote a 10 day supply of name brand oxycodone and the payment would have been $300. The pharmacist filled it with generic oxycodone (manufacturer QLT)Which only cost me $12 with my insurance. The problem is Besides being in pain managemt for spinal cord injury, hx of 5 neck surgeries , I have celiac disease with an intolerance to gluten and soy.
