is there a way to take out the filler ## No, the new Oxycontin OP has been specifically designed to prevent people from doing just that. They are trying to curtail abuse of the medication. It is, however, still supposed to work the same and can cause the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Do you have any other questions? ## the new reformulated drug oxycontin op does not have the same effects and pain relief that the oxycontin oc brand has.what should i do?I am on oxycontin 80 oc mg. ## Its not reformulated . And its the same molecular structure as the o.c. you were probably abusing the o.c. which made them into instant release. ## Verwon, the questioner specified OC, NOT OP. I hope everyone will reply to my post. I 'am like thousand of good people who live in pain every minute of the day. And now since Purdue the makers of Oxycontin has reformulated the OC to OP we all suffer. I like all has called Purdue with my concerns not only a complaint on how this new Oxycontin does not work and its side effects. What I will do if I have enough people to respond is to set up a FACEBOOK page were people can add his or her story about how the OP do not work, what side affects he or she is having. Also where everyone can boycott any medication that Purdue sells. When at the Pharmacy ask the Pharmacist to give you another brand of medication not one made by Purdue. Trust me there are many other drug companies who make the same day to day medication we take. From bloo...

How can I tell if oc 80 is real? ## Hi Misti, If you could provide the imprint(s) on the tablet, along with a physical description of the pill (color, shape, etc), then I can help you determine if it's real or not. I have seen a round green 80mg Oxycodone tablet with the imprint: M 596; and another round green one with the imprint: ABG 80; and one other that is oval and green with an imprint of: 33 93. While I'm sure there are a few others out there besides these three that are 80mg doses, once you post back with more details, we can narrow down the search. I hope this helps!

Need info what pharmacy sells oc? ## Unless you post your general location, it is going to be difficult for anyone to let you know if any pharmacies in your area still have a supply of them. The chances of anyone still having them in stock, however, is pretty low. The original formula of Oxycontin with the OC marking has been discontinued by Purdue and have been replaced with the new product that has the OP marking. While pharmacies were still allowed to dispense whatever supply they had on hand, once they run out, they have no choice but to switch to the new formulation. Are there any other questions or comments? ## yes, need to know what pharmacy has them??? ## I am in N. VA and some pharmacists say they don't have it and then when I ask again, they do have the OC - why do they li...

I took my first Oxy 60 OP. It did not work well...reminded me of the generic ones a few years ago. Will Purdue ever go back to the Oc formula? ## They are not intending to, at the moment, however, many people have been reporting problems with this new formulation not working as well or causing odd side effects. I suggest you contact Purdue and the FDA to report the problem: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 Do you have any other questions? ## the new oxycontin dosnt work dosnt release the med if u dont believe put 1 in a glass eee how long it takes to disolve. then take a plastic botttle se how long it takes to disolvein water same difference it the bottle wont disolve in water neither will the new pills, check out wha...

Do you have any more questions or information to add? Please post back if you do. ## what are the side effects if taken 3 times a week ## I have a fairly significant spinal injury. I have had surgury to my cervical spine and am putting off surgery to my lumbar spine as long as I can. When I was 40 I was told i had the spine of a 90 year old and I am now 62. I am in constant pain and I am agressively doing what I can to stay mobile at all. this is in reply to all who are complaining to the new oxycontin 80 OP. I have been takeing them for 2 years now. My last scrip is still the OC. I pray they are pulled before we get them here. There are other meds we all can go to such as the fent. Patch which comes in a lolly pop too. I bet they will be pulled & back to the old ones before the year is out ## Pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original product, until their stocks runs out, then all will only be able to get the new Oxycontin OP. There have, however, been many complaints that they do not work as well and cause odd side effects, even though they are supposed to work the same and have the same side effects. Anyone that has problems should report them to both the FDA and Purdue at the following numbers: P...

Got my script filled a few days and didn't notice til today that they're OPs. I've also been sick for the past few days - Do OPs make anyone else sick? Lightheaded, dizzy, sleepy, nauseous, flu-like, can't function. Have taken OCs for years and never had these problems. ## Yes, there have been many complaints that they are not as effective and that they cause odd side effects. I am sorry to read that you are having a problem. i just want to know if it's a oxycontin or not! ## If what is Oxycontin? Can you post back with more information, such as a description of and the markings on the tablet in question? A 20mg Oxycontin tablet from the U.S. would be manufactured by Purdue Pharma and it would have either an OC or an OP on one side, with a 20 on the other. Both of them are pink and round.

I have been on OxyContin 60 mg. 3 time'sa day for about 6 or 7 year's. It woked GREAT. I have gotten 3 refill's of the NEW OxyContin they are not the same, they do not work as the old ones did, they do not last as long, it takes longer to take ANY kind of effect, I have went to the doctor, he does not want to change any thing, I called Purdu to find out how to get the old one's back, some one said if op is on the pill instead of oc it would be equal to the old one's. I dont know ! all I know is I went from being able to thing's to sitting in a chair or laying in a bed, I can not even get out of the tub now with out help, I have 6 grandchildren that I use to be able to play with (not for a long time, but now FORGET IT.) we have been seeing the original oc 80's around here and was wondering if they are coming back already or if they oc's are replaced with the op's???? ## No, they aren't coming back, however there are many still on the street, due to all the theft and diversion that occurred, plus any pharmacies and hospitals can still provide or sell them, until they run out of stock. Ethex is also a licensed distributor for Purdue and from what I have read in various posts, they have still had a stock of the original Oxycontin product. On the current supply runs out, everyone will be forced to switch to the new product. Are there any other questions or comments? ## where do you live? ## this guy has no clue what he is talkin about. the real ones are coming back.. my father was gettin th...

I just got my monthly fill of Oxy 60 oc. But this fill I noticed the pills say 60 and on the other side it is stamped op. Is this the same meds as I have been taking? Thank you. Tom P. ## Yes, it is the same medication, this is just the new Oxycontin OP, it has been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Otherwise, it still contains Oxycodone, is supposed to work the same and has the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Do you have any other questions?

I've been taking oxycontin 30mg with oc on them - this time i got oxycontin 30 with op on them and they seem to make me sick. What is the difference? ## Oxycontin OP is brand new to the market and is replacing the regular Oxycontin. The only difference is that the Oxycontin OP has been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Even if someone tries to crush or chew it, it will retain its time released properties. Otherwise, it works the same and has the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am not certain why it would be making you sick, as compared to the other ones, have you tried contacting your doctor or pharmacist about it? ## the new pill u are now getting is a new formula of the old oc and is supposed to be tamper proof so people cant abuse th...

OMG I felt like I was being posioned. I have taken OC for 3 years now, it has made my life managable. I suffer from severe chronic pain. I started taking the new OP 20mg on Friday 3X daily. After the 2nd dose I felt sick to stomach I did not relate it to pill, After 2nd day I felt like I was going to die. Could not eat or drink or sleep. Had chills like withdrawal symptoms. Day 3 throwing up, stopped taking the pills. Two days have past I now take the Opana, as soon as I started taking the Opana my symptoms were subsiding. I never in my 54 yrs of life felt the sickness I felt those 3 days. I am not an abuser of them. I do take them everyday 3x a day. I normally take the 30mg OC 3x daily and dropped down to 20mg. I call them Oxy Poision OP I will never take another one in my life, even i...

The ones with the OC marking were the original product, manufactured by Purdue and were also the name brand. Pharmacies were permitted to sell them, un...

I take 160mill of oxycotin 2 times a day and roxi 30 mill every 3 hours for breakthrough pain. What is the difference in the meds? Also I have the generic oxycontin, 80 mill is it different than the brand name? I ask because they dont seem to effect me like the oxys I recived in the hosbital. The generic pill is lite green and oval is this the same ? ## Does the so called generic oxycontin say oc on one side and 80 on the other? The name brand are lite green with those letters and numbers. The generic form should work just the same. Perhaps you are just working up a tolerance to them. Roxi's are oxycodone just like the oxycontin is; however, the oxcycontin are time-released over an 8 or 12 hour period, (depending on what you are on.) The roxicet is the same as percocet. Yes having the same problem. I have four herniated discs and the original OC 80 would do the job but OP's to come close to doing the same job your talking twice the dose easily. Any info would be awesome ## Hello, Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding the answer to your question on the web, I even checked the FDA site and wasn't able to find any information on the topic. I read a report from 2011 that Purdue pharma stopped making Oxycontin..but that I'm to sure if anything has changed since then. Have you checked with any local pharmacies? Since they are the ones who provide medication, they would very likely know what is/isn't in stock at this time... You may even try contacting Purdue Pharma, it never hurts to go straight to the source! If you have any more ques...
