These posts are yrs old... in australia this tablets have just arrived and ive had a day on them and have belly problems I have had pancritus and gall bladder taken out im scared re stomache and from wot ive read here u guys in usa have had no luck so I may be out of luck too. Let us know! ## Mate I'm in Australia on methadone program... But my pharmacist said there is definitely a generic coming bout it's going through court. They've been made and are waiting on a ruling. Probably end of August. Try oxynorm. There only 20 mg but are just as good.

is taking 2 10mg oxycontin tabs the same as taking 1 20mg oxycontin? ## Yes, it would essentially be the same, though there may be some slight variations, just due to there being two separate pills, so the release rate could be slightly different. The FDA classifies Oxycontin as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I got my meds last on the 7th of august 2017 and all was good. They were put in my purse and my daughter came here with her friend who's a kleptomaniac (i was told after the incident). I always divide my new meds in half and keep the 1 half in my bag, and I buried the 2nd in a makeup bag at the bottom where you can't see them unless you're looking through it. And mind you, i gave no permission to go in my purse. I got up and literally ran to get water. Came back and noticed that my bag wasn't looking right but i didn't think much of it. So after i got some water she all of the sudden had to go and rushed out the door. This has nothing to do with drug abuse! Or Harm prevention! And everything to do with the drug company wanting to keep their monopoly on the pharmaceutical drug market.... I was nearly killed in an auto accident in '92. I developed severe fibromyalgia among other problems due to brain damage and temporary coma and paralysis. For years Drs. Told me my pain was all in my head. It wasn't recognized as legitimate until '97. If you are having bad side affects from Oxy OP find a compounding pharmacy that will make the formula for you. Not easy to find a one that will be able or willing to do this for you but they are out there. It is an option but make sure your doctor submits a pre-authorization for "compound" medication if you have insurance coverage. If not, the compound med is half the cost of regular OP pills. Many people do not know about compounding medicines so be prepared for that road block. Do research and be prepared. I have been taking oxycontin and oxycodone for the nearly 7 years. I have RSD/CRPS. I did have it in both legs with gross swelling. The burning sensation is indescribable and I am a 10 on the McGill Pain Index. I am fortunate that the pain is only in my right leg at this time. We, RSD, have a bulletin that is put out monthly. Currently we have no major movie stars suffering from this disease with the exceptions of( Paula Abdul and Audrey John-Celebrity Chef) so we get very little attention. It is an invisible disease that lacks the medical backing it deserve. It also ranks extremely high in the suicide category. I have had Bone Spurs along my Lumbar and Some Thoracic vertebral bodies. Also, L4, L5 bulging discs. prescribed OxyContin gradually from 10 mg to 80mg over 12 years. Pain started to decrease and lowered my medication to Methadone 10mg /2 or 3 pills every 12 hours. Pain Managed until August 4th, 2014 car accident causing a burst fracture of my L4 vertebrae. The Doctors prescribed 4 x 10 mg Methadone tabs q 8 hours and 5 mg Valium for spasms . Pain relieve if I lay in bed and do nothing except go insane. They changed my Dose from 4x 10 mg Methadone tabs q 8 hours to q 12 hours which did not cover me for 12 hours. Then they added 10 mg Oxycodone/325 for break through. Any pharmacy can order the Sandoz generic Oxycontin for you, you just have to have the correct script. They do come in a 10mg dose. Your doctor, when writing the script, has to make sure NOT to put a 'tick' in the box that says 'no brand substitution permitted' so you will be able to obtain the generic brand, otherwise you will automatically be given the reformulation. insurance company now won't pay for chronic pain meds. (oxycontin) noting all kinds of reasons which I answered. It started with pre authorization, then reduced dosage, (have had same dosage for four years). I have never misused or tried to get meds. early. I know this is an abused medication but I have to go to work every day and this allows me to do so. They say I have a right to appeal and have looked for legal help but nobody will take case. I was just reading everything on the site about oxy's. I used to abuse them and have found myself finally unfortunately I had to get arrested in the process but went to rehab and came out a new found person. I know someone who currently uses them because of the pain he has in his knee ankle and heel from a motorcycle accident he was in and currently has rumetory arthritis (spelled that wrong lol) but you got the hint. He just went to pick up his script for 60 pills and Walgreens had him sitting there for over an hour because they always tell him he needs the pre-authorization which is always sent by the doctor before he even goes to pick them up. So need less to say......he sat there for over an hour and was then told that THEY ARE DISCONTINUING 40 AND 80 MGS OPS AND OCS ALTOGETHER....
