I just got out of Dover Behavior health for a nervous meltdown I was prescribed Paxil & xanax what scares me is the other medications I'm on which are percocet 10mg no Tylenol & oxycontin 40mg. I went today to pain management and they had received my record's for Dover. I told my Dr my fears and she said that my fears were just my anxiety and I had no need for worrying. Wanted to break ambien in half but accidentally did it to my oxycodone 30mg instead. Is it dangerous to take half of a standard dosage? ## It may release too much of the medication, at once, since OxyContin is a time released formulation. What I'd suggest in this case is just not taking that pill. Yesterday I picked up a 20 day supply of oxycontin 30 mg. It was a 20 day script. At 2 a day my px was for 60. I was HORRIFIED when the pharmacist billed me for 325.00, including my insurance discount. They claimed there is not a generic oxycontin. Oxycodone 30 mg was $15 for 60...so needless to say I was shocked!!! Is there an equivalent slow release to replace 30 mg of oxycontin? There has got to be something. I've been on oxycontin 80s for yrs. A new pain mgmt doctor says I'm taking too much and has also refused to prescribe ativan 1mg 2 per day. I have been on a rollercoaster ride with meds being changed. I was given Zanaflex and Topamaze. Will these meds help me? Oxycontin dropped from 160mg 2xday, to 1 tab 3xday, no anxiety meds. I'm a patient going to pain management receiving OxyContin for chronic lower back pain and nerve damage in my feet and legs! Well unfortunately I really messed up and started taking OC twice a day 12 hours a part. I worked my way up to taking 40-60 mg in the morning and 80 mgs at night. i originally started using after severe depression and anxiety and wanting to feel better to fill an emotional void left by a really bad year in my life which led me to start using. No BS here, I wanted to feel better and unfortunately started using and am on week 14 of my addiction. I suffer from cervical stenosis and severe back pain that may require surgery. I am also suffering from a mental illness/deep depression/anxiety. I take several meds for the latter. I had been prescribed hydrocodone 5/325 every six hours, and that worked great for my pain, and I didn't sleepy. Now since changing Pain Mgmt Specialist, he prescribes OxyContin 10mg 2x a day, and this makes me so sleepy, especially with all of my other medications. This new doctor said hydrocodone was not good to take with my mental illness, but he gives me OxyContin? I don't get it, clearly the OxyContin is worse for me if I'm sleepy all the time, at least I could function and stay awake on hydrocodone. I came across some orange/peachy colored tablets with Mylan 345 one side and nothing except a line, groove across the other side. What is it? I'm suffering, even confined to bed rest when sx are uncontrolled, from severe systemic scleroderma, that b* tch of an autoimmune connective tissue disease that has crippled my body and stolen my life. I have used 150mg per day for six months, to deal with osteoarthritis in the hip. I moved from Oxycontin to Lyrica, and am satisfied with this decision. My hip replacement is pending within the next month or so. Lyrica is so effective in stopping the pain, I am wondering whether to stay on it, and keep pushing off the operation. I was on 80mg of oxycontin 3 times a day and it was no longer helping after taking it for many, many, many years. I switched to Suboxone for my Chronic Pain Mgt. Was on 6mg films for the 1st year and always had extra, as I took them at night. I was shocked how well they worked along with Flexeril for my back, leg and feet pain. Then I was cut to 3mg film once a day. I usually take the 6mg film every other day, and still forget at times, so I may only use 11 instead of 14 in 28 days. I recently tried to cut to the equivalent of 1/3 a day, but the insomnia and anxiety were off the charts after only a few days. At my last appointment it was Student Teaching Day.
