2 Topics FoundI take three hydrocodone 10/325 at once. Would taking one 30 oxycontin be the the same? ## Taking one 30mg Oxycontin would not be the same as taking three 10/325mg Vicodin tablets. I say this for a number of good reasons: 1. Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone are completely different drugs than Oxycontin (different chemical structures mean different effects as well as side effects) 2. Oxycontin is an extended release version of Oxycodone; meaning that it's effects will last a lot longer than Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone in and of themselves. 3. The inactive ingredients are also going to be different in each medication; which means you may have a completely different reaction to one v.s. the other. 4. There's a good reason your prescribed one and not the other. Oxycontin from what I hear...

The difference is in the amount of Oxycodone in each tablet, one has 5mgs and the other 7.5mgs, but they both contain 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic pain reliever.
