i just want to know if it's a oxycontin or not! ## If what is Oxycontin? Can you post back with more information, such as a description of and the markings on the tablet in question? A 20mg Oxycontin tablet from the U.S. would be manufactured by Purdue Pharma and it would have either an OC or an OP on one side, with a 20 on the other. Both of them are pink and round.

OMG I felt like I was being posioned. I have taken OC for 3 years now, it has made my life managable. I suffer from severe chronic pain. I started taking the new OP 20mg on Friday 3X daily. After the 2nd dose I felt sick to stomach I did not relate it to pill, After 2nd day I felt like I was going to die. Could not eat or drink or sleep. Had chills like withdrawal symptoms. Day 3 throwing up, stopped taking the pills. Two days have past I now take the Opana, as soon as I started taking the Opana my symptoms were subsiding. I have been on Oxycontin for 3 years. I am not stupid, I did not ask the doc to keep increasing my meds, I would decide to stop taking them for a two week on and two week off if I could. I am in chronic pain,my life has been altered to the degree I cannot walk without assistance any distance. I do walk into a store that has carts to push. Two back surgeries, the type of back that just keeps getting worse, had I not had the surgery I think I could have controlled the pain with Vicodan and Advil. pinkish-mauve in color with a single line marking it in half,alittle smaller and thinner than an 80 mg oxycontin ## I cannot tell you anything about it unless you provide the markings from the tablet, that is what identifies it, not the size and color. Can you please post back with this information? ## There are NO other markings except the line down the middle on one side of the pill.

ip or o/c what is different ## Did you mean the OP marking? The original Oxycontin manufactured by Purdue Pharma bore the OC marking, with a number designating the dosage on the opposite side. However, they have discontinued it and released a new formulation that is intended to help prevent abuse and it has an OP on one side, with the number designating the dosage on the opposite. That said, there are also no more generics for Oxycontin available on the U.S. market. There is only one manufacturer now and that is for the name brand Oxycontin from Purdue Pharma. I was prescribed both Oxycontin & Oxynorm in 2006 for chronic back pain in 2006, as you would know our system builds up a tolerance to opiods. I ended up on 80 mg of Oxycontin, twice per day & 20 mg of Oxynorm 3 times per day and other meds also. I was still in pain, I believe the weather also effects pain. I slept most of the day & night and had no quality of life and terrible memory loss. It is now 2013 & In the last 2 years I have invested in a infa red sauna, a spa set at hydro temp 40 degrees & a TENS MACHINE. My mother in law has cancer and will die from it, the cancer has been eating at her bones, the doctor has prescribed her the Oxycontin 20mg but her insurance does not cover it and the pharmacy wants $300 for 2.5 days or I guess pills, that's crazy. I'm prescribed OxyContin 20mg every 8 hours for pain. I'm having severe edema in my legs, knees, and feet. Is this a common side effect?
