is taking 2 10mg oxycontin tabs the same as taking 1 20mg oxycontin? ## Yes, it would essentially be the same, though there may be some slight variations, just due to there being two separate pills, so the release rate could be slightly different. Am I gonna go through withdraw even for 3 weeks Should I get ready for a miserable few days ## Hello, Leo! How are you? Is your doctor aware that you're stopping them?

24 on one side 93 on other oval white pill ## Don't have an image of this one, but I can confirm for you from my PDR databases that this is Oxycodone Extended Release 10mgs, a generic for Oxycontin. It is manufactured by Teva, the description is white, oval, film coated tablet, 93 on one side, 24 on obverse.

small, round , pink tablets imprint k 56 on label RPH 52/52 oxycodone 10 mg tab ## These are not Oxycontin tablets, those are name brand tablets, with no generic available, which are made by Purdue Pharma, they all have the OP marking on on side and the number designating the dosage on the other. The tablet marked K56 contains 10mgs of Oxycodone, in a regular release formulation, which would be a generic for Roxicodone. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. I have a white oblong pill with V 3592 on it, is this Oxycontin 10 mg ER? ## This tablet contains Hydrocodone 5mg + Acetaminophen 500mg (NDC 0603-3881). Inactive Ingredients: - Hypromelloses - Lactose Monohydrate - Magnesium Stearate - Sodium Starch Glycolate Type a Potato Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming. Another note that needs to be added here is that as of 2013, the FDA has made a request that all manufacturers lower the amount of Acetaminophen in these combination prescription products to no more than 325mgs per dose. There are legitimate concerns about the dangers of liver damage and failure that can be associated with long-term use of high amounts, as well as the toxic...

Is oxycontin and Percocet the same thing except without the tylenol ## Yeah. It's usually extended release instead of the percocet, which is immediate release. Not all the time but that's what I've seen. ## Hello, Katy! How are you? No, Raine, you are correct, both contain Oxycodone, but Percocet also contains Acetaminophen/Tylenol and Oxycontin just contains Oxycodone in a 12 hour time released formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything I can help with? ## Is a 18 mg xtampza ER stronger or the same as Percocet 10mg? ## Suzie, Both medications contain oxycodone xtampza er is an extended rele...

Which is stronger? My new insurance won't pay for oxycontin and substituted generic percoset but it doesn't seem to work as well. Is it my imagination? ## Hello, John! How are you? Oxycodone and Oxycontin are the same medication, Oxycontin is just a name brand for the time released version of it, so the 30mgs is stronger, it's just released slowly over an 8 hour period, as compared to the regular release that is released all at once. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. You may want to ask our doctor about possibly trying MS Contin, it is a time released formulation of Morphine that is also available as a generic, so most insura...

How long does it take for OxyContin 40mg CR taken twice daily to get in my system and provide full effect? I was prescribed these and am on my 3rd day taking them with 2 loratab 10mg for breakthrough and have received a different effect each time taking the OxyContin-Also, is the 40mg OxyContin a standard dose for someone that has been taking 3 10mg loratab for break through pain with 3 15mg morophine ER daily for continued relief? ## Yes, that is a fairly standard dose, but while it should have some immediate effect, it may take 4 to 5 weeks for it to reach its full level of efficacy in you body. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Has there been any improvement, yet?

I have been on 10mg oxycontin hcl for several years (for Stiff person syndrome & migraine). I take 4 or 5 per day. I Just got my prescription filled yesterday and notice that started having chills real bad. Has anyone else had this problem before? ## It sounds like withdrawal symptoms to me? Not sure about what you can do? I would first go talk too the pharmacy and your doctor if needed. What was the name of the manufacturer of these pills? ## I'm not sure. The only thing I seen on bottle is Roxydone. I always get them filled at cvs. ## Somewhere on the bottle it should say something underneath Roxycodone... Like Purde or some other name. It is important info to know in case there is a problem with that manufacturer. Good luck...I was on heavy doses for over 3 years and it was t...

White pill op on one side and a 10 on the other ## Hello, Andy! How are you? Yes, that does match the description of a 10mg Oxycontin tablet, which contains Oxycodone in a time released formulation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have any questions or concerns?

I have been in pain management for 12 yrs. I have just been changed to 10 mg roxicodone 4xs day. use to take 10 mg perocet. Plus my normal 80 mg. Oxycontin 4 per day. My question is what is the difference between 10mg roxicodone and 10mg perocet ## Hello, Suzie! How are you? Percocet contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, the Acetaminophen augments the action of the narcotic, so it makes it more potent and effective for some people. However, the Roxicodone only contains the Oxycodone, by itself. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Not in the least the same Roxy 10 not nearly as strong plus quick release.Oxycontin 8...

I've been taking oxycontin 10mg for 2 years for chronic nerve pain after back surgery. I've gotten a few different kinds from different manufacturer's. I noticed that a couple of months ago that they didn't seem to be working. More pain, along with some pretty awful withdrawal-like symptoms. Also, they were coming out exactly the same as they went in. (not sure how to put THAT nicely-sorry!) After I did some checking, I found that the manufacturer was different. I did some research, and even contacted the company and sent some back, but they said they were OK. Yeah, right!! My next RX I got the old brand that HAD worked the months before. Now that manufacturer is not making them anymore, so now I'm taking another one. (They are all generic.) Well, it's happening ...

I am getting this other generic oxycodone 10 mg, smaller pill and no line , it doesn't seem to work as well, anyone experience or no why and if my state isn't using PMP - can I pay cash and get my refill early - I am going out of town, I will soon have a new insurance and dr. no contracts or anything to break. Thanks. ## Hi Irbo, Because each pill is manufactured by a different company, not only is there going to be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), but also if the medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient as well. This could mean that a 10mg oxycodone tablet may actually have 8mgs in it. For some people these subtle differences are the equivalent of taking somethin...

Hi. I'm prescribed 10mg Oxycontin ER and I was wondering if I took two at a time if would release the equivalent of a 20mg dose? My doctor is currently switching me all around with different meds because I seem to be having unsavory side effects with several of the ones he trying. So I'm a guinea pig right now and my pain is crazy. Thanks in advance for any feedback. ## Hello, Kimmy! How are you? You shouldn't double up without your doctor's approval as it could result in overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I suffer from cervical stenosis and severe back pain that may require surgery. I am also suffering from a mental illness/deep depression/anxiety. I take several meds for the latter. I had been prescribed hydrocodone 5/325 every six hours, and that worked great for my pain, and I didn't sleepy. Now since changing Pain Mgmt Specialist, he prescribes OxyContin 10mg 2x a day, and this makes me so sleepy, especially with all of my other medications. This new doctor said hydrocodone was not good to take with my mental illness, but he gives me OxyContin? I don't get it, clearly the OxyContin is worse for me if I'm sleepy all the time, at least I could function and stay awake on hydrocodone. I don't know what to do, my physiatrist has even written a letter stating the hydrocodon...

Given OxyContin Extended Release 40mg per 12 hours in place of Methadone 10mg four times daily. Always given for pain by MD, 20 years now. Initial dose 20 yrs ago was 200 mg daily, got myself down to 120 mg daily, then down to 40mg (all of these in four doses, that took 3 years). I've been on OxyContin ER for one month along with Vicodin for breakthrough and Tramadol. Nothing really works. Can't sleep, eat or care for myself. The reason I'm off Methadone is because insurance said I would need to pay for it and I can't. Back with my parents and they are lost in this situation. On OxyContin I get relief for about 4 hours (after it takes close to an hour to start relief). They are the worst. I just want Methadone back but it has ruined and ruled my life. No marriage, no chi...

I was on methadone for 7 years my doc and I decided to get of it,I am on OxyContin 15mg q12 hrs along with 10 mgs of narco 10mg 3x a day should this be sufficiently controling my pain? ## Hello, Deb! How are you? What dose of Methadone were you taking? I can't really answer your question without knowing this additional detail. It depends on that and the severity of your pain. Are the new medications working for you? The FDA classifies these as narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I'm sorry I was then actuallyon 15 mg of methadone the day I got myself down to that much because I didn't like taking it.but now my pain was not adequately controlled so ...

So I've been keeping my eyes open for the new oxycontin generic to come out since Purdue lost it's patent. But for the longest time nothing emerged, no company was coming forward with a oxycontin substitute. I just saw that Teva brand has made a Oxycontin generic FINALLY. But I can't confirm a couple of things. First is how long has this generic been available? 2nd is I'm getting conflicting info on if they only make the 80mg pill or I'm seeing they make the 10mg, 20mg, 40mg and 80mg (NO 30's and NO 60's)!! And of course the other question, how much does this generic cost? Are they gonna charge a crazy amount of money or are they actually going to be affordable?? Has anyone out there tried these yet? If so how do they compare to the the old school original OC...
