Oxycodone is classified by the FDA as a narcotic, so being addicted to it and abusing it can be very dangerous and is something your friend should get help with. I have Hepatocellular Carcinoma, (liver cancer). My doctor put me on Oxycodone HLC, starting me out on 5MG tab and increasing as the cancer and pain progress. Right now I am on 10MG's but I believe 15MG's are in the very near future. I despise Opiates of any kind personally. So far so good with the small dosages, but as the MG's increase am I going to end up nauseous and sick like with Morphine and other Opiate medications? ## It is possible, but not very likely, if you're not already having those side effects. They would be much more likely to occur with a larger dosage jump. They are most likely to be mitigated for you, since you're gradually increasing, as needed. If so, since this is a regular and recurring prescription, they should be able to order them in for you. Another relevant questions is, how are you going about trying to find them? If you are just calling the pharmacies, rather than going in, with prescription in hand, you are probably not going to get truthful answers. When it is just a voice on the phone, they have no way of knowing if they are talking to an actual customer or a potential robber. Thus, in most cases, due to the high risk of theft, they will not actually tell you the truth about controlled substances. You can also check a...

I have a strange question which I can't really talk about with my doctor. I have been diagnosed as Bipolar. I am on anti depressants, anti psychotics and mood stablizors. I also take oxycodone occasionally but the weird part is it acts like speed in me. I get talkative, energetic and very spastic. It has done this well before I was on any psych drugs so it can't be off of a combo effect. Is it just my brain chemistry is screwed up or is it common? ## Hello, Norm! How are you? Medications are known to sometimes cause the opposite of their intended effect in some people that take them, for instance a medication to lower blood pressure could cause further elevations in some people. It's not exactly common, but nor is it really rare, it's kind of in the middle somewhere, acc...

Can you please tell me why while taking Percocet 5-325 I am lethargic round the clock and can barely function, but several years back on Oxycodon 10mg - ? (can't recall), I was at least able to daily tasks such as make my food, do the dishes along with other house hold chores, and in general, I had more energy too, while the pain was diminished as well? From what I understand there is not that much difference between the two? Also on the Percocet I experience nausea and decreased appetite too. Thank you ## Hello, Lucy! How are you? Percocet contains Oxycodone coupled with Acetaminophen, it tends to augment the effects of the Oxycodone in some people that take it, so you are probably experiencing more side effects than you did with the Oxycodone alone. The FDA classifies this medicat...

The pharmacy said that my original ratio of oxycodone/apap was on backorder and they sent me sandoz oxycodone instead. I am having a constant dull headache since the substitution. Could this be the cause? ## Headaches can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, constipation, and dry mouth. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? ## I stopped the subscription and am awaiting my regularly prescribed meds. Pharmacy said the binder of the pills are different, not the main ingredient, but it is reacting so I will await my old drug. Thanks for posting.

I have been taking Oxycodone 10 mg tablets four daily and Oxycontin 10 mg once daily at bedtime for several years. For the past month I've been going from hot to cold daily. Sometimes it only lasts for a short while, but more and more the episodes are lasting most of the day. Could this possibily be caused from my doses needing to be increased? I really don't want to increase the amount of these meds, but these hot/cold/hot/cold spells are driving me crazy. I'm a 71 year old woman and even the amount that I'm presently taking continues to make me sleepy, and this is why I don't want to increase the amount that I'm already taking. Thank you for any help you may offer. ## It is really hard to say, according to FDA reports, there are many different issues that could...
