The np 12 10mg oxycodone hcl pills are just as good if not better than the k's or A's or any other 10mg oxy for that matter..like the previous person said it all matters how your body metabolized the drug...bottomline everyones chemistry is diffrent...ive been on narcotics since i was 16 and I have always hated the "this brand is better than this brand" discussion ## @Grizzy, You have a good point about 'how the body metabolizes the drug due to different body chemistry', as opposed to one brand being "better" than another. I think there are few exceptions though, like when it comes to certain manufacturers using more or less active/inactive ingredients that obviously give it a greater or lesser advantage than other brands/generics right off the bat. A goo...

Is it ok to cut a v 48 11 in half? And also will it be ok to do normal activities after I take a half? ## Anyone??? ## Come on ## Hi kay, Usually if there is a score line (divid) embedded into the tablet, it means the manufacturer purposely made it so patients could easily cut it in half. Since this particular tablet is scored, I would personally feel safe doing so. Regarding your concerns about doing normal activities afterwards, there's really no way to know ahead of time how this medication is going to effect you (since it really can effect each person differently). Taking half seems like a good place to start though, if you want to assess how your body reacts/responds to a smaller dose of it, before committing to the full amount. Some people may feel like their abilities to perf...

I had a 5mg oxycodone pill four hours ago. Is it safe to drink wine now? I will not take the pill again. ## Drinking alcohol while taking a narcotic, such as Oxycodone may cause an aggravation of the side effects, so you may feel more drowsy, dizzy and nauseous than usual. Both can also cause depression of the central nervous system, which could cause lowered blood pressure, lowered heart rate and shallow breathing. Thus, no it is not advisable, even though it's been 4 hours, since it takes awhile longer for the Oxycodone to clear from your body. As a general rule, for your own health and safety, it really is best to avoid mixing alcohol with prescription medications. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Just want to thank you for your response. It was very helpful.

Hello, I am a long time user of oxycodone . Have been prescribed pain mess for around 8 years. I am 35 years old and lead a fairly active lifestyle . I've had many surgeries in which I suffer from serious constant pain. I've tried many ways of coping with the pain but the only thing that really works and enables me to function semi normally is oxycodone. Right now I'm using 30mg Oxys. Prescribed 180 a month, but always come up short as I need more than what's prescribed to my high tolerance . I've tried the extended release tablets in 80mg and they do not work at all, and I feel like they are way worse for my body . I've tried dissolving them in water and soda. And they turn to this glob of rubbery stuff and it seems like it would just build up in my body and not...

name of prescription I have, not working ## I can't get the brand that I normally use for chronic pain, Activas, Mallinzroot is lame. I fell like I am withdrawing. Jim ## Hello, Jim and Jay! How are you gents? I am very sorry that you're both having such a problem. There have been quite a few complaints recently about their product. If you can't locate an alternative, you might be better served to try a higher dosage or switch to a different medication, if your doctor agrees to it. How long have you been taking the one from Mallinckrodt? There can be slight fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to the next, so it might be slightly lower than the ones you were taking. In most cases, when the difference is slight, your body will adjust after abou...

What is the difference between roxicodone and oxycodone ? ## From what I understand, Roxicodone and Oxycodone are both the exact same medication. The only difference you might find would probably be in the list of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that different manufacturers use in their tablets. I think the real confusion sets in when people start discussing Percocet (which is sometimes partially labeled as Oxycodone). However, it also contains Acetaminophen; the differentiating factor between those two meds. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Oxycodone Details I hope this info helps to answer your question! ## Will oxycodone and roxicet be metabolized the same in the body?....thats all i NEED to know

round blue pill 224 ## Roxicodone is simply another variation of Oxycodone. NOTE: Oxycodone comes in various forms as well as generic form. I was unable to locate a picture of the pill, but I did retrieve some information regarding Roxicodone, which you can view by clicking on the link below... If you have any more questions or comments to add, please post back so I can further assist you. ## can they hurt you ## 30 mg. oxycodone is a strong pain killer and highly addictive. Be very careful not to take it more than doctor's recommendation! This drug is sneaky, only recently I found my body now depends on the medication. I have dropped the amount of doseds so it's better. It kinda creeps on you. you don't realize the dependency until you run out. Then you will feel sick to yo...

I take prescribed oxycodone 5mg with v on one side and 48/10 on the other. Tonight I think I took two at the same time by mistake instead of my usual 1 mg lorazapan for sleep. Instead of drowzy i feel nausous a little dizzy and too alert. is this normal and will it pass? Thank you ## I see this was posted a few days, so probably a little late for the answer, but I will still post it for future reference. Yes, those effects can be normal, in some people, when they suddenly take a higher dose and they will wear off, either when you return to your normal dose or your body adjusts to the new dosage. And just so you know, in the future, doubling up on a narcotic like that does create the risk of overdose, so you should know the problematic signs to watch out for, which may include shallow br...

i live in brooklyn terminally ill and cannot fill my prescription of oxycodone 30mg I am sick with kidney failure .. can anyone help??? ## Hi jerry, My research suggests that someone who has kidney disease or kidney failure should only be taking Oxycodone under the care of a medical doctor. Have you considered other- less harsh- methods of pain relief? I imagine that if you are experiencing kidney failure you should seek emergency medical attention, and the doctors/surgeons may be able to provide you with alternatives that could help you-not hurt you. I am not a doctor, but I personally think that If one of your organs is failing, pumping more narcotics into your body won't help your case much. A nutritionist may be able to help you create a diet plan that may be able to help your b...

Why do they recommend you see a dentist while taking Oxy? What is the negative side effect on your teeth or gums? Is there something you can do on your own without involving a dentist? Thanks ## Oxycodone, being a narcotic opiate, can cause severe dry mouth, which allows bacteria that your saliva would normally wash away to remain on the teeth and promote much faster plaque and decay than normal. Additionally, narcotics tend to leech minerals out of your body, one of which is calcium, so your teeth can become weaker. Thus, when you are taking them for a long period of time, you should see your dentist regularly, so they can head off any problems early. Are there any other questions or comments?

what is the difference between hcl cr and hcl tb 12? ## Well that is really not a commonly use, or even correct way of describing or prescribing Oxy, but it seems someone is using that to denote the different between Oxycodone Instant Release, which is a generic for Roxifast, all of the med is released in your body as once for pain alleviation, normally referred to as Oxy IR, and Oxycodone Controlled Release which is a tablet specially designed to release the drug over a 12 hour period, these are generic version of Oxycontin. So regular Oxy, the IR version, releases the full dose soon after you take the pill, these are only available in up to 30mgs, but the Oxy CR slowly releases the medication over a 12 hour period (Oxycontin) and these are available in up to 80mgs. ## Sorry, basically...

i have been taking vicodin for a long time and i have severe pain YOU ONLY BECOME AN ADDICT when you abuse meds,i try ice packs in between ,and it works great ## Hello, Linda! How are you? It's great that you are keeping your narcotic use under control! That's just awesome. And yes, you are correct. Addiction requires abuse, but regular use can result in your body getting used to something, so suddenly stopping could still result in some withdrawal effects, but nothing like the severe withdrawals one could experience from addiction. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Why does it make me feel nauseated? It doesn't take my pain away or make me feel comfortable. In fact I feel like crap. I have severe nerve damage throughout my whole body. How many is too much? ## Anything more than what your doctor prescribes is too much. If it is not working for you, you should inform them, you may need a dosage adjustment, or to try a different medication. Nausea can be a normal side effect of this medication, along dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The FDA also warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming. Are you on any other medications? ## I've been prescribed oxycodone 5mg (V 48/10) for a surgery months back. I'm 94lb and 5'1. Now having some issues and need to take them again. These were pretty strong for m...

These pills suck! They are nothing like the old ones ## Hi LadyM, Sorry to hear about your experience with those Oxycodone pills. From what I understand, because each pill is manufactured by a different company, not only is there going to be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), but also if the medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient as well. For some people, these subtle differences are the equivalent of taking a completely different medication that may be absorbed and metabolized differently within your body (usually resulting in an increased or decreased potency). I hope this helps clear things up for anyone else trying to understand what might be going on with their medic...

OXYCODONE/APAP 5/325MG TAB and MORPHINE 15MG ER TAB (MALL-8315) but I have been on this same very medication for years on and off but for the last year and a half straight and it is no longer working how they should. How do I ask my doctor to raise the dosage without her thinking i'm an addict or something ## You should just honestly tell her that you've been taking them as prescribed, but are having more pain than usual. It is perfectly normal for your body to get used to the dosage you're taking of any medication that you've been taking for a long time and for it to no longer work as well. Any good doctor should be well aware of this and should expect it to eventually happen. Learn more Percocet details here. Learn more Morphine details here. Is there anything else I c...

Oxycodone + Naloxone Drug Index

Oxycodone/naloxone, sold under the trade name Targin and Targinact (in the UK) among others, is a combination pain medication. It is available as modified-release tablets and is taken by mouth. The oxycodone component is an opioid and is responsible for the pain-relieving effects. Naloxone opposes the effects of opioids but is poorly absorbed into the body when given orally, meaning almost all the dose stays within the gastrointestinal tract and reduces the local side effects from the oxycodo...

I have been taking oxycodone 512 And my Pharmacy now gives me. a 349 Oxycodone but it fells like there not as strong . ## They are both 5/325mg doses, as listed in the databases by the FDA, just manufactured by different companies, since this is a generic. However, there can be slight fluctuations from one generic to the other, so this one could be slightly lower. Since the differences are usually very slight, your body will usually adjust in a week, or so. If not, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is oxycodone hcl ir 5mg tab habit forming and if so, how bad? ## As with any highly regulated narcotic there is always a demand for it, whether it be for some sort of chronic pain, or for abusers on the black market. From time to time it goes on backorder because there may not be enough to meet the demand. From working in a pharmacy it doesn't seem to be as commonly used whether it be for legal or illegal purposes as percocet, vicodin, or oxycontin ## Yes, Oxycodone is a narcotic, so it can be habit forming, however, how much really depends on various factors. Such as how long someone is taking it, how much they are taking and the person's own body. People that abuse it are going to have more problems than those that just take it as prescribed. Are there any other questions or c...

In Aug. of 2016, I fell and broke my arm. I took Oxycodone for pain for about 3 months. It was the best sleep I'd had in 13 years (since my son passed away). Then my doc took it away. On Feb. 13, 2017, I had a trigger finger repaired and he gave me Oxycodone again. This time, I have a headache and trouble sleeping. Why is this? Oh and I only take it at night. If I take it more than that, I get very sick and sweaty. Thank you. ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, so your body may have changed with age, causing you to experience them, now, though you didn't before. The FDA also warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and you may also experience dry mouth, and constipation. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?
