ive had 6 shoulder replacements and given 15 mgs. of oxycodone for 10 months.could this cause liver damage /? you so much !! ## I've had to take Oxy 30 mg 5x's a day for the last nine years and I have my liver, kidney functions checked twice a year, and they are fine. I've been on pain management prior to the Oxy for many years and was on hydros and it started to eat my stomach lining, they changed me over to Oxy when I started throwing up blood. So as far as I personally know, I've been on Oxy 30's for close to 9 yrs now and I am fine. But I take them strictly as directed though, I don't abuse them or overuse them. So hope this helps. :) ## Hello, John! How are you? Most medications are processed by the liver, so there is some slight risk of liver damage, but it...

Percocet acenmorphen 233 10mg pill are small like the 223 oxycodone 5mg pill. The 233 10mg is made use in less Tyleno. This is the reason why the pill could be made so small. The 233 10mg pill also has a lot less damage results on the liver from the tylenol when taking a recommended dosage provided by your doctor for long periods of time. Therefore the 233 10mg percocet is one of the top recommended pain medication. ## The lowest available strength of acetaminophen in Percocet is actually 325mgs. To my knowledge "233mg" acetaminophen tablets don't even exist; at least not yet in the US. If there is a 233mg version somewhere in the world, it's not being advertised. How much oxycodone 5mg can I take per day before it affects the Kidneys? ## Hello, Charles! How are you? How many have been prescribed each day? You should make certain that you don't exceed that amount. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. There is no set amount that you can take, before it may affect the kidneys, liver, or other organs. That can vary from person to person and depends on your overall health, pre-existing renal issues and etc.

if i ad 1000 mgs of tylenol to my 15mg oxycodone will i get longer pain relief??more hours? ## If your doctor approves, it is only necessary to add a regular dose of Tylenol/Acetaminophen of 325mgs. It can help augment the action of Opiates for some people. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## You also need to remember tylenol can be toxic to the liver and you should be closely monitoring tylenol daily intake. Most sites say 3000mg a day is,safe but that's not for long term use, short term pain relief only. My pain dr says it's more like 2000 for chronic patients on these med's for years and still could ...

Can I take a 7.25 oxycodone every six hours with a 500 mg tynol once a day? Will it hurt my health ? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? You can take them together, if your doctor approves, Acetaminophen can augment the efficacy of the Oxycodone in some people that take it. However, as reported by the U.S. FDA, long-term use of high doses of Acetaminophen carries the risk of liver damage, or failure. They also warn that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a friend that takes 24 pink percocets a day 720 pills a month an her doctor prescribed them to be taken like that can that harm her. ## If this is what her doctor recommended for her, then I'd imagine she must be in some serious debilitating pain without it. However, what really concerns me about this doctor's approach is that each percocet tablet contains a minimum 325mgs of Acetaminophen. At the dosage she's taking in, that's an alarming 7,800mgs of Acetaminophen within 24hrs. Enough to cause some serious liver damage. Her doctor may have ignored the warning label, but it's been clearly stated by the FDA as well as drug manufacturers NOT to exceed 4,000mgs of Acetaminophen within a 24hr period and NOT to exceed 1000mgs in a single dose. These numbers a far b...

Is morphine ER 30 mg stronger than percocet 10/325?? ## Yes, it would take approximately 20mgs of Oxycodone to equal the 30mgs of Morphine that you are taking. Learn more Morphine details here. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Have you been switched to the Morphine? ## my friend is on morphine for pain from liver cancer but she says the morphine make her sick despite taking antinausea medication would oxycodone be better for her to take?

what is the long term effect on your liver and other organs? I have had C-3 C-4 fusion 1986. L-4 L-5 fusion 2011. I have had shoulder surgery in 05.I'am taken oxycodone 7.5/500mg 3xa day and dilaudid 4mg 4 x a day and gabapentin 600mg 4x a day. He tells me that on a long term that oxycodon with out the tylenol in it will effect my liver. so why did he give me something with 500mg of Tylenol in it? just don't under stand. LOST ## I am not sure I understand why he would do that, either. The Acetaminophen is far more dangerous to your liver than the Oxycodone by itself. Learn more Percocet details here. I guess the better question is what type of doctor are you seeing? Is it a pain specialist or a general practitioner?

I have Hep-C and am taking oxycodone-acetaminophen for severe knee pain. Meanwhile, my liver is getting worse. My "doctor" a P.A. says there is no oxycodone without acetaminophen. My hematologist says there is...and that I should be on it. Who's correct here and what should I do? ## There certain is Oxycodone available without Acetaminophen, it is sold under the brand names Roxicodone, which is a regular release formulation and an instant release one called OxyIR, both of which are also available as generics. Learn more Roxicodone details here. If you're just seeing the PA, that may be the issue, as they do not have as much knowledge as doctors. I'd suggest you ask to see an actual doctor to discuss the issue. Is tehre anything else I can help with? ## Oxycontin is a...

Does anyone have any experience with this particular medication. I see that their are lots of complaints on there generic percoset, but I'm talking of just plain oxycodone 15 mg made by alvogen, any information would be great & most appreciated. Again not their percoset version, I'm speaking of plain oxycodone w/ no Tylenol. I cannot take tylenol as it causes my liver to have problems. Thank You! ## Hello, Peggy O! How are you? I've not run across any complaints posted on here, so far, from those that have been taking it. Alvogen is generally a reputable company that manufactures effective medications. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Ca...

Are there any prolonged side effects after 10 yrs of treatment? ## Hello, Shellbee! How are you? Long-term side effects usually entail the possibility of liver damage, but that would be detected via blood work, if your doctor is monitoring you and checking occasionally. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was just taken off of 50mcg fentanyl patches/72hrs, and put on oxycodone 20mg extended release with hydro/APAP 5mg/325 acetaminophen for breakthrough pain and I'm going thru withdrawl as well as being in pain. The 5/325 are only $19.50 for 180 from Humana. I flushed the 100 remaining Oxy 10's and went back to the 5/325. ## CONTINUING...I have always had restless leg syndrome and these 5/325 Oxycodone relieve it better than anything else I have ever taken. How is this compared to loratab ## The tablet with the IP 118 marking doesn't contain Oxycodone, it is another generic for Lortab that contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 750mgs of Acetaminophen. Learn more Lortab details here. Since it contains a narcotic, this medication does have the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. I'd also like to let you know that by request of the FDA, all of these combination medications are going to have the amount of Acetaminophen in them lowered to only 325mgs. This has been done due to the risk of liver damage or failure that can be associated with long-term use and the risk of toxicity from Acetaminophen overdose. Some manufacturers have already begun to implement the ...

I've read no, but that your liver metabolizes it as morphine? Bottom line - does it contain morphine and what is the difference between contain and metabolize as?? ## No, it does not contain Morphine, Oxycodone contains Oxycodone, a different type of narcotic opiate. Some of the metabolites are similar, but not the same and lab work will be able to distinguish the difference. As a narcotic, it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. What it contains would be the active ingredient, the metabolites are what appears on lab work after it has been processed through the body. Are there any other questions? ## I am an elderly male , 2 years ago I had a fall and badly fractured my neck after my operation I was told for chronic pain to take a 5mg Edone...

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2008. Over the years my nerve pain has gotten a lot worse. The pain has gotten so bad that it's ruining my life. I cant walk due to my legs not working correctly and experiencing a loss of all balance. I have pain everywhere but it's the worst in my feet. My Dr. has me on 10 mg oxycodone for about 5 years now. I was on percocet prior but I worried about my liver with all the acetaminophen. My problem is I'm not sure if I have built a tolerance or if I should be taking more at a time but it's not doing much for me. My pain never goes away. The pills slightly take the edge off for about an hour. That's it! I have tried 3 different types and strengths of pain patches and they didn't do anything. I tried morphine with the sa...

...if the acetaminophen in Percocet enhances its action? I just had surgery for bone spurs and was given oxy, 5mgs. For some reason I thought that oxy would be stronger--I think I heard it somewhere--but now that just seems wrong. For that matter, why prescribe Percocet, given the liver implications, and instead just give people oxy and tell them they may carefully and occasionally supplement it with NSAIDS? ## Hello, Tristan! How are you? Yes, the Acetaminophen potentiates the action of the Oxycodone, for some people. It doesn't work for everyone. Oxycodone by itself works better for some people and, if you look at the FDA information on it, you'll see that it is also available in higher doses that are in different formations, including a time released one for better pain contr...

I have Hepatocellular Carcinoma, (liver cancer). My doctor put me on Oxycodone HLC, starting me out on 5MG tab and increasing as the cancer and pain progress. Right now I am on 10MG's but I believe 15MG's are in the very near future. I despise Opiates of any kind personally. So far so good with the small dosages, but as the MG's increase am I going to end up nauseous and sick like with Morphine and other Opiate medications? ## It is possible, but not very likely, if you're not already having those side effects. They would be much more likely to occur with a larger dosage jump. They are most likely to be mitigated for you, since you're gradually increasing, as needed. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects,...

Oxycodone in the instant relief form is much better than extended time release. Time release comes on at the wrong times and when you really need pain relief they aren't working. The doctor often prescribes norco for breakthrough pain. Why take 2 pain pills when you can just take the roxy IR and not be so hard on your liver. I've been on pain meds for 10 years. Good luck to all of people suffering from chronic pain like me!

I was just prescribed this med as Previously I have been on 5/325 oxycodone x4 daily. ( for 3 years now) I cut them in half for 7.5 dose as prescribed for breakthrough pain x3 daily. I also take 200mg Ultram ER. once a day. Will this new med react differently in my system? Last longer or shorter term relief? Dr changed due to the apap and liver concerns. ## If you have been taking Oxycodone already, your reaction and side effects really shouldn't be any different, though since it is a higher dosage that you are getting all at once, since it's immediate release, they may be more pronounced. Such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. It also should last about the same amount of time, it just releases the medication faster than the regular release tablets that you were t...
