I just gave my husband 600mg ibuprofen 2 hrs ago. Can I give him the 10 mg oxycodone now or do I have to wait 2 more hours? ## Yes, ibuprofen is a different class of drug and can be taken at the same time, though for better pain control they are often staggered. So if he's prescribed oxycodone every 6 hours, you could give a dose, then 3 hrs later give ibuprofen, 3 hrs later give the oxycodone again...and so on. Just make sure he's not exceeding the max dose per day of oxycodone. ## @Stark, I just wanted to add a second opinion, in that Oxycodone + Ibuprofen is also available as a combination med that goes by the name of "Combunox". I am taking 5mg (blue tablet) twice a day for back discomfort. I’ve been on it for quite s while I would say couple of yrs. I want to know if it can cause me to have a seizure every so often. They can’t find out any cause for them. I have no history of them or no one else in my family has seizures. I never ever had them before. I also get hot flushes through my whole body that last about 5 minutes or so every once in awhile. I want to go off them. How do I go about it. doc gave 10mg oxycodone ER but can only take 1 every 12 hours and its not working for pain!! wondering if u can take it sooner than the 12 hours? ## You may take one sooner, depending on your tolerance level... how long you've been taking the medication, etc. I wouldn't take it any sooner than 6hrs from your last pill. Time release pills often do not work as well as regular release pain medications I've found. Instead of taking another pill sooner, you might want to talk with your doctor and see if they will put you on a pain medication that isn't time release. ## You should not exceed your doctor's dosing instructions. I somehow spilled coke into my bottle of oxycodone 10 mg. I know dumb right. I didn't spill enough to mess it all up. It still has some form to it. My pharmacy has been switching prescription generics between 15 mg oxycodone HCL tablets for more than a year now. It is not unusual for me to get a new generic every time I fill my prescription and in many instances they will give me two different forms of the generic for one prescription because they switch so often. They have now put me on AUROBINDO which does not work at all for my chronic pain and if that wasn't bad enough they also provide counterfeit information in the form of paperwork claiming that the drug I have been given is actually manufactured by Mallinkrodt. Maybe someone can be of help to my Elderly parent. I have somewhat severe Crohn's disease and was diagnosed at 15 but had bad stomach issues long before that. I'm now 19 years old and I've been on just about every treatment for the disease and nothing has ever worked. A few years ago I had 1.5 feet of my colon removed since it had become so inflamed and ulcerated. I've tried everything but nothing helps it seems.
