Has anybody heard of M 30 oxycodone being reformulated? My mother has been on oxycodone for quite a while now and recently had an rx filled and had a few M's that almost instantly swell up and turn into mush when she takes them. They are the same diameter as the other M's but alot thicker and from what she says, they aren't as effective as the thinner M's. Any info would help, thanks. ## Hello, JOTO! How is your mother doing? No, I've not heard of such a thing. Were they identical in color, too? Were there any other noticeable differences? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## The only noticable difference was the clarity of the imprin...

can anyone tell me if you can take oxycodone Hcl 30mg by breaking it in half. I have them for chronic pain. It is a blue round pill with a V on one side and 4812 on the other. The pill is scored on one side. It seems to be a high dose for one time. I would like to break it and only try one half the first time but I dont know if it is an IR or CR tablet. I don't want to do anything that is dangerous, just need pain relief. Can you take it safely by breaking it in half? ## Yes, as long as your doctor or pharmacist hasn't instructed you otherwise, you can safely break this tablet in half to try half the dosage. This is a regular release tablet, not an instant or time released formulation, it is a generic for Roxicodone. If you are new to taking it, you should be aware that it may c...

i need my dr to go up on my oxycodone 30 mg from 5 times a day to 6 times a day can he do that ## any luck??? post if so ## It can usually be taken every 4 to 6 hours, so at the minimum 4 hours, that would be 6 times a day. There is also the possibility of raising the dosage, or switching to a time released formulation that may give you better pain control. WHat has your doctor advised? ## i am in ky. i am looking for a dr. who will write me a perscripton for oxycodone 30 mg. the dr. i had been seeing moved. does anyone know where i can go to get them. thanks ## Yes because that is what I an taking from my doctor. ## Does Anyone know were to get oxy 30 mg percribed my doc moved out of state I live in Albuquerque nm ## I am on oxycodone 30 mg 6 times a day but with the new laws and docto...

Have been taking 30 mg of oxycodone. Went to a different pharmacy to fill. It is a blue pill the only marking on the pill is K 9. Normally will split the pill with a pill cutter. It tends to shatter when I do this the other pills normally would split clean. Relief is not as effective as the other prescription. Wondering if the new pharmacy gave me the wrong dosage. Markings on the bottle are correct, wondering if they made a mistake. ## Hello, Mike! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by KVK Tech Inc. and they list it as containing 30mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are you cutting along the score ...

Which is stronger? My new insurance won't pay for oxycontin and substituted generic percoset but it doesn't seem to work as well. Is it my imagination? ## Hello, John! How are you? Oxycodone and Oxycontin are the same medication, Oxycontin is just a name brand for the time released version of it, so the 30mgs is stronger, it's just released slowly over an 8 hour period, as compared to the regular release that is released all at once. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. You may want to ask our doctor about possibly trying MS Contin, it is a time released formulation of Morphine that is also available as a generic, so most insura...

oxcodone IR 30mg to replace oxycontin CR 40mg no insurance on oxycontin ## Hello, Freefall! How are you? Your doctor should be able to prescribe the regular release Oxycodone for you, in lieu of the Oxycontin. However, you should be aware that there is no immediate release in these higher dosages, it is only available as a capsule in 5mgs. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? If the 40mg twice a day has been controlling your pain, they'll likely want to try to keep you as close to that dosage as possibly. ## The new oxycontin may not work for you, but I have been put on xtampz...

The 80mgs tablets are only available as the name brand Oxycontin, though for a brief period there were some generics on the market, but all were controlled release in this dosage. The original name brand 80mg tablet was green with an OC on one side and 80 on the other, the new formulation has an OP...

I am currently on 4 30mg oxycodone ir a day and 2 2mg dillaudid a day. I've had 2 major surgeries and I'm I'm only 24 and day in day out in extreme constant pain. My question is would switching to OxyContin the new formula be as effective? Does it have the same euphoria or is it less effective than what I'm on? If anybody can help me out with that I would appreciate it. ## One thing I can say right off the bat is that Oxycontin is an extended release formula of Oxycodone. Some people say that it's not quite as potent as its immediate-release counterpart, but offers much longer relief in return. I do think though, that you'd have be your own best judge when it comes to that, since everyone is different. The thread linked below seems to have good information compar...

I am currently on 4 30mg oxycodone ir a day and 2 2mg dillaudid a day and the oxycodone only last 2 hours and the dilaudid doesn't work at all.I've had 2 major surgeries and I'm I'm only 24 and day in day out in extreme constant pain. My question is would switching to OxyContin the new formula be as effective or would swithing to opana be better? Does it have a good euphoria to it Does it have the same euphoria or is it less effective than what I'm on? If anybody can help me out with that I would appreciate it. ## The euphoria that some people experience from these types of medications is purely a temporary side effect and has no bearing on whether or not they are working. It will always wear off as your body gets used to the current dosage and you'd have to keep...

In AZ I never had this pronlem. My doc is a wear off the issue. Thanks you, ## Have you discussed the possibility, with your doctor, of perhaps trying something else? There are Morphine tablets available on the market in all the same formulations as Oxycodone, in name brands and generics. If you are taking 30mgs of Oxycodone, then you would require 45mgs of the Morphine to be equivalent. Another question is, how are you shopping around for the prescription? If you are just calling the pharmacies, they will usually not give you ...

just got a refill for my oxycodones n they have alg on top n 265 below.always got the ones with the v n want to know who the manufacturer who makes these, hear there new n woulda been nice if my pharmacy at least told me they where new. ## Hello, Thumper! How are you? I'm sorry that your pharmacy didn't inform you of the change. This tablet is manufactured by Alvogen, Inc. and they list it as containing 30mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I have heard that oxycodone IR will no longer be on the market in the U.S. - Is this true? Someone said they heard on the news that oxycodone immediate release 30mg tablets will be off the market within 6 months and I'm just wondering if anyone else has been told this as well? ## No, not that I am aware of in anything I've read recently. And I doubt the veracity of this claim from the person that stated it due to one major reason, that being that there is no 30mg Oxycodone IR, so that is not the way it would have been presented on the news. The instant release is only available as a 5mg capsule. Anything stronger than that is either the regular released formulation, or the time released formulation. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and ma...

Does it hurt the op 40's if they are cut in half? I don't like to take the whole pill at once. ## Since these are time released tablets, it isn't advisable that you cut them in half, because even with the new formulation, it could still result in the Oxycodone being released faster, so you get too much in your body, at once. There are lower dosages available, have you tried asking your doctor about just prescribing a lower one? ## That's not correct you can cut them ## Yeah you can. I seriously just took a 30mg op cut in half and it felt like 5 or six of my 10 mg (pink) oxycodone. I believe my tolerance is pretty high and my doctor has me on 8 pink 10's a day. So to answer your question you'd be fine taking half a 40. Don't listen to all the conservatives. Li...

can i split one in half or quarter ## No, it is not safe to cut and divide these tablets. This is a 30mg Oxycontin tablet, which contains the narcotic Oxycodone in a time released formulation. Cutting or breaking the tablet could result in your getting too much of the medication, at once, which could result in overdose. The new formulation is supposed to help prevent this, but the danger is always there. If you need a lower dosage, you should speak to your doctor about prescribing it in a lower dose or different formulation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It is only safe to cut an oxycontin (op) inhalf if it is a 20mg or less cause cause the most a person should intake of instance release is 10mg unless said different from.doctor... due to case of overdose.. OP are not inten...

the old oxys were better when on the new ones it got worse why change it?on opana er 30's was onoxy 60s opana DOES NOTHING WHY? ## what does a roxi 224 look like ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is very effective for some people, but like any medication, it doesn't work for everyone. Have you tried talking to your doctor to see what else you can try? If the new Oxycontin formulation isn't working for you, perhaps you should try MS Contin? It is a form of time released Morphine. The 30mg Oxycodone pill with the marking 224 on it should be round and blue, with the 224 on one side. It is a generic for Roxicodone, which is a regular release formulation. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Are there ...

I have been prescribed Roxicodone for the last 5 years and the price has always stayed the same, now for the last 2 months everyone I know that gets them has complained that the price has doubled and that in January they are going to gel.Does anyone know the reason for this.I live in Tennessee, and is the gel true? ## This is just my opinion, but I believe one of a few possible reasons behind the significant price increase and change in formulation is somewhat due to the increasingly large number of people buying the drug just to abuse it. This is the reason why Oxycodone changed their formulation to the new OPs. Roxicodone is just another brand name of Oxycodone; so I'm thinking the manufacturer's have a similar idea in mind which may or may not cost more to produce. In the end i...

I have a small brown pill with 30 on one side and ON underlined on the other, I was told its an oxy but I'm not sure because I have been looking it up but everything I find says small brown pill with 30 on one side and OC on the other is an oxy but this pill doesn't say OC any ideas anyone, trying to be safe , not a guinea pig ## Based on the description provided, I believe that pill is the new Canadian formulation of 30mg ER oxycodone which is "OxyNEO". I was able to reach this conclusion after someone else identified their round pink "ON 20" pill as Canadian OxyNEO (20mg). The "ON" was also underlined on theirs as well. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Oxycodone Details I hope this info helps!

Are these Half Moon Logo 271 Yellow pills really new Actavis morphs? Just got my script n they don't seem right. Can't get any answer ## Yes, that is correct! Actavis does list these tablets as containing 30mgs of Morphine in an extended release formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are you referring to medications that contain just Oxycodone, by itself? So far, I haven't found anything stating that any particular dosages or formulations are being pulled off the market. The only recent change that I am aware of is the new formulation of Oxycontin that was released by Purdue to help prevent abuse. Can you post back with any more details on this? Perhaps links to this information? In the meantime, I will keep searching and post ba...
