Hello i was wondering if they actually do make an oxycodone 20mg IR tablet? Now im on Oxycodone 30mg IR tab #120 1 tab 4 times daily. I suffer from severe debilitating chronic lower back and leg pain. I have been going to pain management for 20 years. This time around, I got a new Oxycodone Hydrochloride pill marked "RP-20", which doesn’t seem the same as other 20 mg pain pills I've had. I get 10mg Norco & 20mg Oxycodone, and I alternate, it REALLY helps!!! I am wondering how they compare to one another? ## Based on my research, Dilaudid is much stronger then Oxycodone, but it doesn't last very long in it's immediate release formula. Oxycodone has an extended release formula (Oxycontin); which may be better suited for some people when used chronically for long term pain relief. 8mg of Dilaudid is "roughly equivalent" to 20mg of Oxycodone. I have been prescribed oxycodone 5 mg. IMM REL capsules to be taken 2-3 every 4 hrs. for shingles pain. I have never taken this before, however I have chronic pain due to a right hip injury 6 years ago and normally take fiorinal #3 for that and also migraine headaches. I was just given this med Oxycontin10mg twice a day by my dr for pain but I don't know how long until it starts working. I have Vicodin but I don't really know how much of it I should take to help with the pain. I have only taken one dose of the oxy ## Oxycontin is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and it will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, after you take it, to start working. Then it is slowly released for approximately 12 hours. As to the Vicodin, you shouldn't take more of that than what your doctor, or pharmacist has instructed.
