I am a vet from the war that has no end in sight, I am not special just a soldier like many of you out there. I was shot in the right shoulder and it came out my chest. I was very lucky. Anyway I have been on 40 mg x two a day of oxycontin for 3 years well it was working fine and controlling my pain. Now I am taking the same meds but on the pill it says op not oc. It is almost like I am not on any pain meds at all. I don't think my dr. Has a clue about the change in the formula. Out of curiosity what is stronger Percocet 7.5 (325 mg) or Oxycodone 10 mg Immediate Release (IR)? I know the only difference between these two is one has Acetaminophen and one doesn’t. The 7.5 mg Perc didn’t say if it was IR or (Extended Release) ER. If needed more details I’ll explain replying to your post(s). This is a nightmare!! I suffer from multiple auto-immune diseases such as Connective Tissue Disease, R.A, Livedo, Raynauds, & traces of Lupus. All of which cause EXCRUTIATING PAIN!! How long does feeling last he took one and 5 325 oxcodone his arms here but the not the feel he took at 6pm ## Hi Connie, It's a little difficult to understand the entirety of your post due to grammatical errors, but immediate release oxycodone has an estimated half-life of 4 hours - At which point only 2.5mg out of the 5mg would still be active. I believe this is why typical adult dosing charts suggest taking 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed for around the clock pain relief. 5mgs is also the smallest available dosage of oxycodone (at least to my knowledge) - So you could always talk with your doctor about going up to 7.5mg or 10mg if the 5mg isn't sufficient. I get 10mg Norco & 20mg Oxycodone, and I alternate, it REALLY helps!!! I am currently taking 30mg oxycodone 4x daily. I have failed back surg syndrome and many other herniated discs in most levels of entire spine. The recent CDC crackdown is effecting the way docs in Arizona write for opiods here. No one wants to write for immediate release oxycodone (from what I've heard, it's due to people overdosing, selling them, and abusing them). These new ones are intended to be tamper proof, to prevent someone abusing them, so it you try to cut or break them, you just end up with a pile of gummy goo that retains all the active ingredient in it and keeps its time released properties. I have had 6 back surgerys with pins,screws and many of fusions.over the past 5 years or more have been on oxycodone 10-325 4 to5 times a day.
