i'm on ocycontin 60mg 4xs daily my break through pain med is either hydrocodone 10-650 or oxycodone w acetaminophen 5-325 which is more effective for pain relief i have to chose one ## At that narcotic dosage, 10mgs of Hydrocodone, versus 5mgs of Oxycodone, they are roughly equivalent. The only way to see which one may be more effective for you is to actually try one of them and see how it works. The Hydrocodone option does have more Acetaminophen in it. so you may also want to base your decision on how concerned you are about that, since it can cause some stomach problems. Is it stronger or weaker and would it only take one to equal the equivalent of a perk 10 or 2 of the oxycodone 5mg ## Hi Julie, To answer your question, 5mgs of Oxycodone quite simply does NOT equate to 10mgs of Oxycodone + 325mgs of Tylenol found in Percocet. Usually when people abbreviate the term "perk 10" this means that it contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and nothing less. I am disabled with lupus and PAC. I was taking oxycodone 10-325 one 4x a day with excellent results. My pain mgmt dr changed me to oxymorphone er 10mg with oxycodone one 2x day for breakthrough. I am having constant pain and have been on oxymorphone for two days. How long until it takes effect? I'm miserable. ## What is the current dose you are taking of the Oxycodone?
