Hi, would 325mg of acetaminophen be considered a significant blood thinner..the doctor has told my husband to stop all blood thinner meds, but he didn't mention this as one of his meds to stop taking. I was prescribed oxycodone acetaminophen 5-325 for pain; another doctor told me to take 1000 mg of acetaminophen for the same pain. Which is stronger? ## @Demetri, Oxycodone in and of itself is significantly stronger than Acetaminophen, so I'm not sure if there's any reliable or honest way to accurately compare the two, outside of trying each one for yourself at different times in the day and noticing the big difference in pain relief. I'm not a Dr. but I also wouldn't encourage anyone to take such a large dose of Acetaminophen on a regular basis. They narrowed down the max dose in meds to 325mg for a good reason (to do with decreasing one's risk for liver damage/failure). I've been on oxycodone 10mg for several years. My pain management doc has been reducing my prescription by 5 pills each month to get me down to just 120 per month. Next month I will be at the 120 mark. I've been complaining as that 1 less per day makes a difference in managing my pain daily. A few months ago my pharmacy switched their supplier and the new pills won't cut. They literally shatter on one side leaving me about 3/4 of a pill & crumbs. I have a friend that takes 24 pink percocets a day 720 pills a month an her doctor prescribed them to be taken like that can that harm her. ## If this is what her doctor recommended for her, then I'd imagine she must be in some serious debilitating pain without it. However, what really concerns me about this doctor's approach is that each percocet tablet contains a minimum 325mgs of Acetaminophen. At the dosage she's taking in, that's an alarming 7,800mgs of Acetaminophen within 24hrs. Enough to cause some serious liver damage. On 4/12/17, I received my monthly script of Oxycodone from Walgreens, from Mfg. Actavis as Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10-325MG TB. The medication did not dull my pain as usual, but continued to use and began to feel very ill, vomiting and having diarrhea, ending up in the hospital for four days, during which I lost all my strength and needed Physical Therapy for three months and I am still having to use a walker. There was never a diagnosis of the cause of my hospitalization, but now I know that after I had not used the medication for a period of three months and now needed pain relief again, that after ll days of use, I was experiencing the same thing that had put me in the hospital in the first place, the Actavis Oxycodone! There is a problem with Actavis and they should be investigated....
