This sounds weird, but I think oxybutynin 5 mg tablets are passing through my body without being dissolved. I receive my prescriptions from Express Scripts, by mail. Has anybody else ever mentioned this happening? I am a prostate cancer survivor and the pills were prescribed for incontinence. I take 15 mg Oxybutynin ER in the evening. This morning it came out whole in my stool. What's going on? ## Hello, Karin! How are you? I understand your concern, but I can assure you that it's completely normal. Some time released medications, such as this one, use the outer shell as part of the time release mechanism and it is not intended to be dissolved by your stomach acid. Think of it this way... the outer shell basically has 2 little holes in it, that are covered by a light coating and not very easy to see, the inner components are something similar to a sponge, plus the active medication... when you swallow the pill, your stomach acid dissolves that thin coating over the holes, then the sponge starts to absorb some stomach acid/fluids, which forces the medication slowly ou...

Recently I had to switch from vesicare with zero issues to oxybutynin 10 mg Er. Now I'm experiencing major stomach/G.I. issues along with headache. Not fun. How long does it take a body to adapt to a new med? I'm not happy. Thank you insurance companies. ## It may take 4 to 5 weeks for things to settle down and the side effects to go away. Others that are listed by FDA include dizziness, headache, urinary retention and blurred vision. Is there anything else I can help with?

If your doctor approves, you may want to try taking it in the evening then, a couple hours before going to bed. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and blurry vision. Is there anything else I can help with?

The FDA doesn't list that as a side effect, but they do list back pain, so it is most likely reasonable to assume that it may cause pain in other areas of the body, as well. I was prescribed oxybutynin 5 mg twice a day for incontinence. I had done bladder training, etc. all exacerbated by chronic pain from spinal stenosis. I had extremely dry mouth and throat and stomach pain, sometimes severe, which are "common" side effects. After two weeks my body was not adjusting. Stomach pains worse then had bright red bleeding in urine and on TP. Stopped taking Oxybutynin 2 days ago. Blood in urine mostly gone, urine still a little murky. Still have stomach pain when I eat (plain mild food, yogurt, applesauce). I want to know how long it takes for this med to get completely out of your body? There may be some slight effect when you first start taking it, but usually it can take awhile for it to reach a good efficacy level in your body. Really, having taken just one dose is too soon to expect it to do much. If you continue for a week or more and have no results, then you'll need to contact your doctor. I have been on oxybutinin 5 mg for three months I already suffer from trigeminal neuralgia . I take many medications for that. I am suffering from dry eyes, dry mouth, lack of appetite and losing weight and can't afford to, losing sleep and severe headaches that are exaerbating the neuralgia. My question is how does one get off of the drug ? I should mention I had severe OAB and took two two pills a day and could go as many as forty to fifty times a day . It is used to treat anxiety and nervousness. ## Abe is correct with his ID, these types of pills are Benzodiazepines similar to Xanax or Valium. ## oxybutynin is marked M with an O5 underneath it and a lighter blue than oxycontin. i have a prescription for it, so butynin, so unless i've been given the wrong pill by the pharmacy for two years, you're wrong. ## if any of you would ever TRY the 4853 v, it is NOT oxycotin. it is for bladder control. If you are getting prescribed that for pain and get 60 of them then your lying. No one is that stupid.

small blue pill marked with 4853 and a V, is Oxycontin. I was just perscribed a bottle of 60 and unless Oxybutynin is oxycontin also, you are wrong. ## 4853V is 5mgs of Oxybutynin, a generic for Ditropan, used to help control urinary frequency and incontinence. ## 4853 with a cursive v on the bottom is a 30mg oxy. That is without any APAP its also blue, round, and slightly smaller than a thumb tack ## 30 mg oxycontin, Chuck?
