This sounds weird, but I think oxybutynin 5 mg tablets are passing through my body without being dissolved. I receive my prescriptions from Express Scripts, by mail. Has anybody else ever mentioned this happening? I am a prostate cancer survivor and the pills were prescribed for incontinence. How are you? What you're both seeing in your stool is just the outer shell of the pill, but the medication is released. It's one method of controlling the release of a medication, so it is dispersed ...

I take 15 mg Oxybutynin ER in the evening. This morning it came out whole in my stool. What's going on? ## Hello, Karin! How are you? I understand your concern, but I can assure you that it's completely normal. Some time released medications, such as this one, use the outer shell as part of the time release mechanism and it is not intended to be dissolved by your stomach acid. Think of it this way... the outer shell basically has 2 little holes in it, that are covered by a light coating and not very easy to see, the inner components are something similar to a sponge, plus the active medication... when you swallow the pill, your stomach acid dissolves that thin coating over the holes, then the sponge starts to absorb some stomach acid/fluids, which forces the medication slowly ou...

After only two weeks of taking oxybutynin 10 mg once a day, I am suffering from severe knee pain. Has this happened to anyone else? ## Hello, Yvette! How are you? Has there been any change? The FDA doesn't list that as a side effect, but they do list back pain, so it is most likely reasonable to assume that it may cause pain in other areas of the body, as well. I tried this one years ago and always got sick shortly after taking it, so I had to stop it. Have you tried any other medications in this class? ## I stopped taking Oxybutynin but the pain continued. I think my pain was caused by trauma when I helped a friend move. Thhe knees are slowly improving so I think the meds are not at fault. ## Yvette, the same happened to me. Not only my knees but all my joints. Blurred vision, terr...

I was prescribed oxybutynin 5 mg twice a day for incontinence. I had done bladder training, etc. all exacerbated by chronic pain from spinal stenosis. I had extremely dry mouth and throat and stomach pain, sometimes severe, which are "common" side effects. After two weeks my body was not adjusting. Stomach pains worse then had bright red bleeding in urine and on TP. Stopped taking Oxybutynin 2 days ago. Blood in urine mostly gone, urine still a little murky. Still have stomach pain when I eat (plain mild food, yogurt, applesauce). I want to know how long it takes for this med to get completely out of your body? (Have doctor's appointment in two weeks.) ## Hello, Bella! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've been having. Has there been any change, yet? Those...

There may be some slight effect when you first start taking it, but usually it can take awhile for it to reach a good efficacy level in your body. Really, having taken just one dose is too soon to expect it to do much. If you continue for a week or more and have no results, then you'll need to contact your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is it safe for my friend to take oxybutin from chemist shes weeing none stop and wont go doctors but it is bad the worst ive seen its constant ## Good lord, NO! Whats the best time to take 5 mg of oxybutynin? I just was prescribed it yesterday. Does it cause weight loss??? ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? It can cause some dizziness, drowsiness, and blurred vision as side effects, so many people find that they do better taking it at night, rather than in the morning, according to the FDA. Weight changes could go either way, it can vary from person to person. Some people lose weight while taking, but some gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am taking oxybutynin and I am getting lots of side effects from it. I told my Doctor that I want to stop it. The worse side effect is the dizziness. I would like to know how long this medicine remains in your system after you stop taking it?

I've had been given a puba vaginal sling and bladder suspension a month ago. I'm now taking Oxybutynin 15 mg and I still experience leakage. Why? ## Hello, Kelly! I am sorry about the problems you're experiencing. Has there been any change? What was your specific diagnosis? That could help explain why you are still experiencing an issue. Additionally, no procedure, or medication, even if FDA approved, is guaranteed to work for 100% of those that try it. Are you on any other medications? ## I had a tilted urethra and falling bladder. Had urethra sling and bladder suspension. Now there's no physical reason I should be still leaking. First follow up left me with an oab diagnosis and oxybutynin script.. which doesn't help. Oxycontin 5mg. Verses oxybutynin5 mg.IS THIS THE SAME DRUG? ## Hi, Tammy! No, they aren't related and aren't used to treat the same things, at all.
