I've been taking 15mg oxy IR for sometime now, was taking the 10 mg a while back but got the 15's when i changed pain doctors. Has anyone ever gotten these and got changed to a different release formula that seemed to work better, or maybe not as good as the IR? I am "fishing for ideas" and would appreciate someones helpful advice concerning the different types of "release formulas" for oxys. I'm currently taking 100mg of oxycodoe a day (20mg via percocet and 80mg via oxycontin) as well as 200mg daily of tramadol. I'm taking these as prescribed for chronic pain. My concern is, that after almost 2 years of being on these pain meds with the dosage increasing as my tolerance builds over time, if the Dr's are able to fix what is causing my pain, are there meds that will help ween me off the oxy? I'm terrified of the withdrawls. My second concern is, if they can't fix what is wrong, are there alternative meds for the pain? I can't imagine increasing the doses forever. Okay I've got one of these from a friend because my backs been in pain a few days out of the week usually. Last week I took about 5 vicodin in 2 days.. But this is a 30op oxy and ive never messed with something this strong.. So what I'm getting at.. Is it safe for me to take this knowing I have a low tolerance? I'm about 100lbs.. ## If you have a low tolerance to narcotics, taking this could be risky, due to the fact that it can cause depression of the central nervous system and since Oxycodone is very potent, the starting dose is usually much lower.
