Live in Tampa and I have been on oxycontin SR 80mg, for 10 yrs. Prescribed by my physician , for injury. I can't afford the price my pharmacy is charging me. Is there any where in Tampa that is less expensive than $300.00 a month quantity #90 ( this is with insurance). Thank you for your help, I know there are people worse off than I am. ## RX OUTREACH ONLINE has very discounted meds if you qualify I would check it out also I have heard the drug maker has a discount program with express scripts your doc has to set up that you try. look up free discount meds online there are lots ofd programs but RX OUTREACH is legit I use them good luck ## I would suggest pursuing the suggestions that LLL has made, though I am not sure if Purdue still has any type of assistance program due to the re...

I'm on the fentanyl 50 transdermal gel patch and am not sure why they have chosen to put me on it so quickly. Can anyone shed some light for me on this subject? My PCP had me on a sript of 120mg oxycodone..skipped lortab.. anyway I was only having to take about 90mg of that oxy to maintain my pain from bulging disks and herniated disk in my neck. I had been self medicating for the pain since I had no insurance and finally got some. The docs are at odds that I may also have fibromialgia. Regardless, it was working pretty well and a pain mngmt doc came to the clinic and had a 1 time assesment of all patient with chronic pain issues and said I should be on the 25mg patch ...didn't work. Went to 50 patch and was fine for about 2.5 months and no, again, not working. Why can't I j...

I am new to this fourm, and I have a few questions someone may be able to answer. I have chronic back pain as a result of Cauda Equina Snydrome, and an injury at L5/S1. My Pain Mgt doc made a med change about 3 wks ago. I was one taking Oxycodone 15 MG tablets, but I was still having a LOT of breakthrough pain. As of 3 wks ago, my doc ADDED Morphine Sulf 15 MG's SRT. The combination of the two meds appears to be working but there are still some minor pain issues. I spoke with my doc the other day and we will talk again on Feb 2nd. He told me he thinks going to the 15 MG Morphine Sulf every 8 hrs, vs 12 hrs will help. He also wanted to see if I could go to 10 MG's of Oxycodone as needed 8 hrs, vs 15 MG's of Oxycodone as needed every 8 hrs. In sum, the 15's MG's of Mor...

I need to know what they put in this medication that has my U/A coming up positive for morphine and oxycodone. I dont understand because I dont take these two drugs. I asked a pharmacist and was told its against the law for her to answer the question and that sounds like the worst lie I ever heard. My job knows that I take the medication but with these other two drugs coming up my job is at stake and I need answers. I love me and there's no way in hell I would take three different narcotics. I dont have a cell so I'm using my co-workers phone, so can someone help me get to the bottom of this ASAP? Please someone. Another thing, what is the other 5mg because it says 50/5mg. Does it mean it has acetaminophen in it also like the lortabs? ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? It is most lik...

Currently taking 40 mg OxyContin sr but they are back ordered for months. Dr suggested hydromorphin but I'd like to be sure I get the equivlant dose to the OxyContin. What is the comparable strength? ## I was trying to switch from oxy 60mg a day to opana as well. The doctor told me starting dose would be 20mg opana daily ## I was trying to switch from oxy 60mg a day to opana as well. The doctor told me starting dose would be 30mg opana daily. For you switching from 40mg you should be starting with 20mg of opana ## Hello, Tracey and Brooke! How are you both? You're actually taking about different medications here, so I'd like to clear this up to avoid confusing anyone. Regarding the Hydromorphone for you, Tracey, you need 3.75mgs of it for each 10mgs you were taking of the Ox...

I was on oxycontin 20MG 5 times pr day... I grew a tolerance and rather than up the dose, I managed to get back onto teva-morphine SR 30 MG, but what I took before was hydro-morphine 30 MG..trying to find out the differences ## You're actually mixing up drug and manufacturer names here, which may be creating some of your confusion. The one you called Teva-Morphine is actually just the narcotic Morphine and Teva is the manufacturer. The other one is actually called Hydromorphone, it is still a narcotic, but a different one and it is very potent. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Seems I have side effects from the various versions of Morphine Sulfate I have changed to recently. I knew I had alergic and sick to my stomcah problems when I was given Morphine in Hospital, but ...

What's the difference between Morphine sulfate ER, CR, and SR. I am on Oxycontin and want to change to the generic form. ## Whats the differances between morphine sulfate er, cr, and sr. Thanks I am on oxycontin and want to change to one that has a generic, since oxy is nolonger thk Richard ## There is no difference, each abbreviation that you listed is simply a different way of denoting that the Morphine in that particular pill is in a time released formulation. ER stands for extended release, CR stands for controlled release, and SR stands for sustained release. You may see some others used, as well, such as XR, TR, LA, SA, and etc. Unfortunately, the pharmaceutical industry doesn't have any one universal abbreviation that they use to designate it, so some manufacturers base i...

Which is stronger oxycontin sr 15mg ter or Oxycodone hcl 10mg ## The 15mg dosage would be stronger, since you'd be getting a higher amount. However, from the information in your post. how they work for someone may be different, because of the difference in the formulation. Oxycontin is a time released formulation that is designed to slowly release that 15mgs over a period of 12 hours. The other would be a regular release formulation that releases all of the medication, at once, within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Tirazone Tirapazamine

Tirapazamine (SR-[[4233]]) is an experimental anticancer drug that is activated to a toxic radical only at very low levels of oxygen (hypoxia). Such levels are common in human solid tumors, a phenomenon known as tumor hypoxia. Thus, tirapazamine is activated to its toxic form preferentially in the hypoxic areas of solid tumors. Cells in these regions are resistant to killing by radiotherapy and most anticancer drugs. Thus the combination of tirapazamine with conventional anticancer treatments...

My husband and I are having a debate...I take 80mg of oxycontin SR three times daily. Does my narcotic blood level stay at a steady 80mg or 240mg daily? ## Well, it isn't going to say at any 'steady' level, because it's always going to vary somewhat, due to activity, fluid intake, what you eat and etc. But since the doses are split you essentially always have some processing out, when you're adding more, so you'd be looking at close to the 80mgs. Learn more Oxycontin details here. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## Hi Verity, I don't know how much help this will be to your debate, but from what I could gather, the apparent elimination half-life of oxycodone following the administration of OxyContin was 4.5 hours compared to 3.2 hours for immedi...

i am taking 60 mg SR morphine, what is the equivalent to percocet 5&325 ## Hi Jack, Hello, Even though Morphine and Percocet (Acetaminophen + Oxycodone) are used to treat moderate to severe pain, they are still two different medications that are formulated in two different ways. Since these medications effect everyone differently, there is really no way to justify an equivalent dose of Morphine to create the same result as taking Percocet. An equivalent dose for one person could also be an overdose for someone else. Hopefully that makes sense. This question may be something best answered by your doctor who can make a more informed decision based on your medical records, current health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking any other medications, etc. You can learn more about...

Yes, they would consider those to be equivalent, because they are both regular release and intended to treat breakthrough pain, so it's generally thought that both wouldn't be needed. I was told it was Oxycontin SR 100mg, but it difffers in features from other Canadian pharmacy oxycontin. One side has 100 imprinted. However, instead of the CDN imprint, there are symbols or a logo on the other side. Looks a bit like a smiley face, but that depends on how you rotate the pill. Please see images below: ## The symbol on the back side of the pill appears to be a P, standing for the manufacturer Pharmascience. Here is an image from their site: If you visit their online product catalog at and then click on the letter T to view those medications, it is listed as Topiramate 100 mg. So it is not an Oxycodone. This is an anticonvulsant drug used to treat epilepsy in children and adults. It is sometimes used as an antidepressant. For more information about this drug please see:...

The Va took 90 mg, a whole midday dose and all my tramadol in 1 month. Oh ya, and my .05mg xanax too. Now they wanna use 7.5 mg ir morphine instead of all my percocet. Help me. We vets have to go through a pain clinic now at the Va. All it is, is a doctor taking everything from me. WHAT CAN I DO OR SAY? IM IN PAIN WITH NERVE PAIN. ## Hey, went through the same thing at the va. I went through the choice program and see a real pain management doctor in the civilian sector.
