Is there something I can buy on the shelf that would be similar as soma, say if I took several Milligrams? ## No there is no natural Soma out there. Also taking 'several' mgs of a supplement is not always a good thing! ## @Chip, Based on several reviews I found, Baclofen is touted as being one of the closest 'prescription' medications to Soma of all the muscle relaxers out there. Unfortunately I can't speak from personal experience since I haven't tried it before, but that may be something you'd want to talk with your doctor about taking as an alternative to Soma. I also agree with Eddy in that, "taking several milligrams of a supplement is not always a good thing". Just make sure you take some time out to do your homework/research before delving into...

Is "over the counter" Metanx as effective as the prescription version? ## Hi Lynn, Based on my research, Metanx is a combination of Folic acid (3 mg), B 6 (35 mg), and B 12 (2 mg). I don't think that it would be any less effective as long as the dosage is the same as what a doctor would prescribe. The only thing that might be different is the manufacturer- but that shouldn't have any major effect on the supplement other than the types of "inactive" ingredients used. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Metanx Details I hope this helps! ## I'm traveling to India in the near future. Can I buy Metanx capsules in India at retail price? If so, does it require a prescription or where I can buy in bulk prices over-the-counter? Thanks.

Is there a over the counter medicine for vistaril ## Hello, BJ! How are you? No, the closest you could get would most likely be Benadryl, which contains the active ingredient Diphenhydramine. It's an excellent antihistamine and usually the first choice used in most ERs to treat allergic reactions, but it doesn't have the same potent sedating effects that Vistaril does. If you need to switch, please check the safety of doing so with your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am allergic to diphenhydromene. would this be suffice?

I have two tablets left in my prescription. Are there any over the counter meds for high blood pressure? ## All you need do is call your pharmacy for refill and they will contact your physician with a refill. Why would you risk anything else.. ## What is the difference between Verapamil SA and Verapamil ER? ## No, medications for treating high blood pressure require a doctor's prescription. While you can help lower your blood pressure via diet, and exercise, it is always best to take the medication your doctor has prescribed. Verapamil may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and increased urination. Ref: Verapamil Information Lydia, SA stands for sustained action, and ER stands for extended release, both mean the same thing, though, as they just des...

No, Hydroxyzine is only available via prescription. There are others that are available over the counter, but not this specific one. Can you contact your doctor to ask what they were talking about? They may have been suggesting you try a different one. ## Thank you so much - I am beginning to think I misunderstood the doctor. I have been taking klonopin 1 mg for anxiety for about 3 months. It's definitely been helping. I take it in the evening because it also helps me sleep. Problem is someone in my home has been stealing them. My daughter and her husband and 2 and a half year old daughter live with us. Daughters husband is an ex opiate addict and I think it's him. He vehemently denies it and my daughter gets very angry when I bring up the subject. I have to hide them but wanted to see if I could get an over the counter blue pill that exactly resembles it, leave in the same place and pill container, and count carefully each day to see if they are being taken. My daughter is pregnant and it is definitely not her. It's driving me nuts not knowing why they are disappearing! The doctor prescribes 2 p...

Is there an over the counter topical nystatin ## Hi, Carolyn! How are you? No, Nystatin in either topical or oral formulation is only available via prescription. The reason for this is because it can be toxic if used improperly and too much is absorbed into the body. Learn more Nystatin details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I order AC&C 8mg from a pharmacy in Canada and have them shipped to me in Indiana? They are sold over the counter there and I have purchased them in Canadian stores when I lived closer to the border. ## Hi Chu - So from what I'm seeing AC&C is a compounded mixture of Aspirin and Codeine. Since it appears to be an OTC medication it would be up to the pharmacy in question whether they ship orders internationally. Legally speaking it is in one of those gray areas simply because of the Codeine ingredient. However, it is not considered a prescription drug in the originating country. Chances are you could find a retailer that does ship to US addresses.

Over the counter substitute for Atarax ## Atarax contains the active ingredient Hydroxyzine, which is an antihistamine. Since I do not know your medical history, I cannot guess why your doctor may have prescribed it; but it is used to treat allergies, prevent nausea, to treat anxiety as well as some other conditions. In order to recommend a good substitute, one would essentially need to know "why" you're taking this medication in the first place. If you could please post back with more information that would great. I hope this helps!

I’m seeking to purchase a product sold over the counter in Mexico which is called "Alevian Duo" or, if not sold in the USA, a product which has the same ingredients sold by a different name in the USA. ## Hmmm, if you aren't able to get it directly from Mexico, try searching for other products domestically by active ingredient: Looks like it contains Pinaverium Bromide and Dimethcone. Not sure what contains the exact same combination. "Pinaverium bromide was first registered in 1975 by Solvay Pharmaceuticals (now a division of Abbott Laboratories), and marketed globally using the brand names Dicetel and Eldicet. Generic pinaverium is available in South Korea under a trade name of Disten[1] and in Argentina as Nulite." - Wikipedia

Is Bronkaid available over the counter now? I see people with it on eBay so they have to be getting it somewhere. ## Hello, Nicky! How are you? Bronkaid has always been available over the counter. It contains Ephedrine, so you do have to ask for it at your pharmacy, plus show ID and sign for your purchase, but a prescription is not mandated. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have not been able to get it at my Walmart or Walgreens or CVS for almost a year now I have heard it is available in some states tho I am in Nevada.
