Sorry about the problem that you and your husband are having. Have you tried any of the OTC medications to see if they help at their available dosages? Not every medication requires 500mgs to help with pain and you may find that something in a lower dose, such as Naproxen (Aleve) may help quite a bit. Learn more Aleve details here. But before taking anything, you do need to find a new doctor and make......

my urine test showed i have hydrocodone but i do not take that i take oxycontin 30mg oxycodone 15mg xanax 1mg temazepam 30mg for sleep. remeron 30mg for depression and over the counter tylenol cold and flu nyquil azithromycin antibiotic250mg baclofen 20mg for muscle spasams in back been through 6 failed lower back ops. OUCH!!! please help answer my ? ## A standard urine test tests for Opiates or narcotics which includes oxycodone, oxycontin, as well as hydrocodone. So when they told you that you tested positive for hydrocodone, they likely meant narcotics. Another possibility is that hydrocodone contains different amounts of Tylenol, anywhere from 325mg to 1000mg. The test, if sensitive, could have shown the huge amount of Tylenol you're taking and the narcotic- if I understood you ......

What are the best anti-inflammatories that work on intestinal pain? Please list the brand names of these medications and rate them according to their efficacy (effectiveness). ## Unfortunately the only way to find out what works best for you and what doesn't is through the process of trial and error and working with your doctor. There may be meds that are stronger or more effective than others in eliminating the pain, but if it causes too many side effects then what good will it do in the long run? Trial and error will help you narrow down your preferences. NSAID's (aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen, motrin, indomethacin), opiates/opioids, muscle relaxers, anxiety medication, natural alternatives (turmeric / kratom / CBD / THC), probiotics, digestive enzymes, etc, have al......

I pulled a muscle on the left side of my lower back and I want to know if I can take an anti-inflammatory medication since I have had a bleeding stomach 2 yrs ago (because I took too many anti-inflammatory meds) before my back surgery. ## Hi Gus, Sorry to hear about your previous experience on anti-inflammatory drugs. Is this NSAID's in particular or does it pertain to natural remedies as well? If you haven't already done so, I would encourage you to investigate certain alternatives such as Turmeric, CBD oil, or maybe even Kratom for pain relief, as I've never heard of any ill effects from those substances in and of themselves... Have you also discussed any of these concerns with a doctor?...

If I can't take any aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs 5 days before a procedure, can I still take hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10-325? ## You should be able to take it, unless you have been told not to do so, since it does not contain Aspirin, or any other anti-inflammatory. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Are you on any other medications? ## I had my second de dimer blood test last week ,it was 5.3 my GP said that 5 or under would have been a better result, I have to go for another de dimer in two weeks, I am currently on Cartia 100mg since three weeks the de dimer at that time was 3. I still say do not to come off Xarelto straight away on to Aspir......

Over the counter substitute for Atarax ## Atarax contains the active ingredient Hydroxyzine, which is an antihistamine. Since I do not know your medical history, I cannot guess why your doctor may have prescribed it; but it is used to treat allergies, prevent nausea, to treat anxiety as well as some other conditions. In order to recommend a good substitute, one would essentially need to know "why" you're taking this medication in the first place. If you could please post back with more information that would great. I hope this helps!...

OTC MEDS THAT WOULD ACTUALLY WORK?? Would like to here true experiences from anyone ## Hello Ty, I'm not aware of any OTC medications that can help boost white blood cell count, however I can still offer some advice that may be able to help you. Based on my research, low white blood cell counts are indicative of a suppressed immune system. This means that your diet most likely plays a huge role in keeping the immune system strong and the white blood cell count at a healthy level. I recommend that you to start eating more fresh fruits and vegetables (or juice them), whatever is easiest for you. There are also plenty of dietary supplements that can possibly help to boost your immune system. Here is an article that talks about how to naturally boost immunity and white blood cell count:......

I am presently taking gabapentin and if I forget 1 tablet it is awful. I can't sleep and my legs ache and the next morning because of the lack of sleep I can not function. I am on this medicine for back pain and I do believe it helps.. I would like to get off this drug and maybe try something natural but not sure what is in this. I have read several horror stories that have concerned me on the withdrawal from this drug. Just looking for something that may be a natural substitute. Thank you so much.. By the way I am 68 years old and take 600 mg at bedtime.. ## Hello, Eloise! How are you? Unfortunately, there is no over the counter equivalent. Rather than missing tablets, if you have a smart phone, there are quite a few reminder apps available for free that you can set to go off, so t......

Causing a tickle in throat. Not on any high blood pressure meds. ## Hello, Laurie! How are you? Do you know what's causing it, is it a cold or allergies? The proper remedy will really depend on that. What have you tried? Are you on any other medications?...

I just need something to take the edge off my degenerative back disease and muscle skeletal pain/arthritis.... Please help me find an alternative to the doctor's pain medication. I think something very natural would work and I am open to anything. Thanks. ## There's really nothing guaranteed to work, going by FDA reports, though some people do seem to have good luck with some of them. What medication did your doctor prescribe? Was it an opiate? Are you on any other medications?...
