I have an oval shaped pill that has the number 169 on it but it was not in its original bottle what is it for ## I wasn't able to locate an exact match to your description, as you didn't mention what color the pill is that you are referring to. I did however find a pill marked "961" as opposed to "196" that is white and oval shaped. Is there any chance that you may have misread the marking? It is an anti-inflammatory and pain killer. ## Need to know what this pill is prescribed for and how it compares to vicodin or percocet. ## Al, although it is used as a pain reliever it is not like Vicodin or Percocet. was given for pain from my doctor because it was a substitute for lortab? ## This is NOT a substitute for Lortab. Lortab contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. This medication is Tramadol 50mgs, it is listed as a narcotic, because it is derived from an opiate, however, it does not have the same benefits or effects that an opiate does, so it does not work like one.
