Otc Med To Replace Vicodin

I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can be addicting. You must have a prescription to get Vicodin. ## @original post, No, Naproxen is not stronger than Vicodin. I am currently taking vicoden for knee replacement surgery...is there any OTC pain med to take that would be similar? Thank you! ## Not in the U.S. Vicodin contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic analgesic and there are none available over the counter in the U.S. The strongest medications for pain that are available over the counter in the U.S. are the basic nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen. Have you tried discussing it with your doctor?

I just picked up a new prescription of vicodin from the pharmacy a week ago and i've taken four. The rx was for 60 and i counted three times and the count keeps coming up to 40. I noticed my neighbor when I visit or outside working always offers to fetch things for me in my house. I have fibromyalgia and I have two tears in my rotator cuff. I try not to take them but sometimes the pain can be unbelievable. I am on a lot of medication and I even noticed my adderall coming up short. I would like to make sure before I confront her. I know that she has her own rx but when she gets them she has said that she sells hers. Is there anything that I can replace my vicodin with, without it being too noticeable? ## Hi Linda - sorry to hear about that. It might be tough to find a vitamin or OTC ...
