Osteoartritis

My doctor diagnosed me with osteoartitis this week. He prescribed Treipiline 10mg, one tablet at night time, as well as Neurontin 100mg. According to what I am reading on the internet it is depression and epilepsy medication. Will it give me pain relieve at all? ## Yes, the Tripiline contains Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant and Neurontin is an antiseizure medication, but they have both also been proven effective at helping with certain types of nerve pain. You can learn more about them here: Are there any other questions or comments?

Really in pain the "oxycontin 40 mg CR tablet" is a long term release and is not cutting through the present pain from gallbladder and kidney stones. The doctor is prescribing a medicatio...

Hi, My mother is 60 and has been diagnosed with mild Osteoartritis. For this she has been prescribed the following medicines: 1. Lubricart-D 2. Zerodol-CR 3.Caldikind The dosage prescribed is 2 tablets of each everyday. I would like to know if there are any side effects of these tablets and what better and milder prescriptions could be used instead of these. ## All medications carry the risk of side effects. this site is not, however, medical professionals, so we cannot possibly suggest what she should and should not use, only she and her doctor can decide that. Caldikind is a supplement containing Cholecalciferol, w...

IIs it aspirin based? Is it a Cox-II inhibitor?S ## No, Glizolan is not Aspirin based. Diacereina is reportedly the active ingredient of Glizolan. This medication belongs to a group of medicines with anti-inflamotory and anti-rheumatic properties. It is also used for treatment of Artrosis which is an illness related to cartelege prloblems and lesions and osteoartritis. It does not contain steroids. It works by inhibiting interleukin-1. You can read more on Diacerein in the link below (although information seems to be scarce for this medication because it is foreign "manufactured outside the US"): Hope this helps!

Glizolan 50mg capsules.manuf.by Madaus SA Barcelona ## I have been prescribed Diacerena capsules but I cannot find out in english what this drug does for os ## Foreign drugs just aren't as strictly regulated as those in the U.S. and it is very hard to find information on them. I can only suggest that you talk to a doctor or pharmacist and see if they can provide you with more information. ## I have just been prescribed Glizolan Diacereina for a knee problem that I have and the description is in Spanish so here goes: Glizolan belongs to a group of medicines with anti-inflamotory and anti-rheumatic properties.
