I have used 150mg per day for six months, to deal with osteoarthritis in the hip. I moved from Oxycontin to Lyrica, and am satisfied with this decision. My hip replacement is pending within the next month or so. Lyrica is so effective in stopping the pain, I am wondering whether to stay on it, and keep pushing off the operation. The side effects that I have encountered are short term memory loss, decrease in stool volume and constipation. It is even hard to fart...perhaps it effects sphincter muscles in the body. I have put 8kg on since I began using lyrica, and I was initially alarmed when I developed trigger finger in all of my knuckles. I suffer from anxiety and depression, so was interested to see what the mood stabilizing aspect of the drug did. The depression is still there, but a...

The "authorities" are concerned with the opioid addictions and overdoses yet the FDA has not, to my knowledge, run trials on Adequan, a proven osteoarthritis drug that not only eases pain in dogs and horses but also has been proven to REGENERATE joints. Any reason why? ## The FDA does not run drug trials. They do set the requirements for them, but it is up to the actual manufacturer of any given medication to do the drug trials, and submit the results to the FDA for approval. The requirements are also quite different for human medications, as compared to those use in various species of animals. In some cases, the cost of doing the trials results in a manufacturer not wanting to pursue further testing to have a medication approved for human use. Regarding this medication, since i...

I've been taking Losartan for mild hypertension. I also have terrible arthritis in my hips, knees, toes and back. I was fit before, apart from mild hypertension. I could have walked a marathon this time last year. I asked the doctor could it be Losartan, as I loved walking and now am not able to walk much at all. ## What types of symptoms are you experiencing? Can you please post back and clarify? Do you think it is causing the arthritis, or was it something you already had that you think it might be making worse? I hope my question aren't offensive, I am just trying to get to the root of the problem. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Losartan as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, gout, hypotension, diarrhea, and anorexia. ## I definitely believe ...

Is Colla-flex a suitable treatment option for those suffering from osteoarthritis? ## It is just a nutritional collagen supplement, so there are no guarantees that it will help with anything. According to the FDA it may cause some nausea, in some people that take it, as a side effect. What has your doctor recommended? Are you on any other medications?

I stumbled on a freakish and very happy side effect when I was prescribed this drug for a severe burn on my foot last spring. By the time I finished the last of my prescription, the pain in my arthritic knees had disappeared! The pain had been so bad I was looking up info on the Mayo site to arrange for knee replacement. Thinking I might be losing my mind, I checked the Internet for "arthritis" and "antibiotics" and found the website called roadback.org, which confirmed my discovery! Antibiotics are being used to treat both rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, in addition to lyme disease, fibromyalgia and more. My question: Has anyone else had an experience similar to mine? ## Wow, that's fantastic, very happy for you. And I have to say that going by the posts on our site,...

I have been prescribed Synap Forte for a botched knee op and have been told I need a need replacement but am too young. I must manage my pain through pain killers - hence dr prescribing Synap Forte and Normison. I have a heart murmur and ADD. My pharmacist suggested I ask my GP to prescribe an alternative to Synap as this medicatation is dangerous for both my symptoms. What would you suggest I take. ## i would advice to seek advice for systemic Enzymes ( Revozyme Forte) ## Synap Forte contains Caffeine, Dextropropoxyphene, Diphenhydramine, and Paracetamol, thus in this case, I have to agree with your pharmacist. The Caffeine can aggravate your ADD, according to NIH studies, plus in most countries, Dextropropoxyphene has been pulled from the marked due to the rik it creates of dangerous ...

I am currently taking Cymbalta for my osteoarthritis, but really can't tell if it helps any. I realize I will have to be taken off the Cymbalta slowly by my doctor. However, I wonder if I might be able to start Limbrel while being "weaned off" of the Cymbalta? Would that be safe? ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, but the ultimate decision is up to you and your physician. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Limbrel as possibly including upset stomach, gas, and diarrhea. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

osteoarthritis pain from lactic acid ## Hello, Jules! How are you? What condition are you asking about? It seems you're confusing several. Osteoarthritis is completely different from gout and the latter would involved uric acid. What have you been diagnosed with? NSAIDs can be used to treat osteoarthritis, unless one's health prohibits such, but gout often requires something to reduce the uric acid.

I have osteoarthritis.i had knee pain . So the doctor prescribed me nucoxia sp twice a day for 10 days.i am a bp patient and under medication. I take olmetrack H 20mg once. After taking nucoxia sp for 4 days I was feeling very uncomfortable and bulge in my abdomen. I felt there is water retention in my abdomen region. I checked my weight. It had risen by 4 kgs. I am suffering from osteoarthritis of knee I am prescribed celadrin capsules and kondro acute tablets. please let me know how it works in the body and its side effects and precautions if any. ## Celadrin is actually an over the counter supplement that claims to help with joint lubrication. The only ingredients they actually list are Esterified Oils, but they don't specifically say what they are. This also means that the side effect profiles have not been studied, nor have any precautions, since it is not a prescription medication. Kondro Acute contains Glucosamine and Diacerein.
