I have been using petogen for 3 months and I was having non-stop periods and the doctor gave me oralcon. During the week that I was taking oralcon, I was taking the pill at different times and sometimes skipped taking it. I have been intimate with my partner without the use of protection. Could I fall pregnant? ## If you weren't using any protection, at all, then yes, there is a risk of pregnancy. Have you had a test done to check for pregnancy? Why did you stop taking the Oralcon? Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, mood changes, and weight changes.

Hi , I've just started using Oralcon from using Yasmin. Is there a big difference between the two ? Because I am worried it might have a different effect as it is cheaper ? ## I switched from Yasmin to oralcon. Is it safe to just change or will it effect me hormonally? I've taken a brand new cycle now for my new month and would also like to know if I must consume all of the white tablets then break or consume the red tablets as well? ## No, it works the same and you should not have a problem making a clean switch from one to the other. Shell, the red tablets do not have any active ingredients, they are just reminder pills to try to keep women in the habit for taking a pill every day, so you can skip them, if you wish, it would be just like having a break week where you don't...

Hi. I'm an Oralcon user and just wanna understand, I've taken five red pills but nothing is happening. I just want to know if I might be pregnant or what? I had period pains when I took the first one. ## Hi Laura, When it comes to any form of hormonal contraceptive, it's important to understand that they can all cause irregular or missed periods as a common side effect. This is just the nature of what happens when your hormones fluctuate. It seems that this side effect concerns many users here on the site, as I see it posted fairly often - but in reality there's nothing to be overly concerned about when "nothing happens". Most labels for these types of medications suggest that if the tablets have been taken as directed, this will almost certainly not mean that th...

I have never used any contraception pills in my life. And I want to use oralcon. When do I start using it? ## You can start it, at any time. If you start it the first or second day of your period, it will be effective immediately at preventing pregnancy, however, if you start it any time after that, you will need to take it for a full week in order for it to reach it's full level of efficacy. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting, and PMS-like symptoms. What instructions has your doctor provided? ## I started taking oralcon about 12 days ago. I Initially started using it because of the terrible pains i get when i have my menstrual cycle. I was on my third day of having my period when i took it. Three days ago my boyfr...

Hi, i stopped using the oralcon on the 8th of October 2019. I was bleeding for 5 days there after. In November i had my period for two days and in December i had it for 3 days. All three months i was bleeding very little not even to fill a pad but when i urinate and wipe myself there will be a lot of blood on the tissue. In Dec i had my period for three days on the 16th until the 18th and on the 21st of December i had a little blood and discharge on my underwear. Can i be pregnant ## If you have had periods, it is not likely that you are pregnant. Since Oralcon is a hormonal contraceptive, stopping it can cause your body's hormone levels to be off balance, for awhile, which may result in irregular periods, and changed levels of bleeding. It can take a few months for your body to reg...

Hi im on Oralcon for about 8 months now, im very bad with taking pills and remember to take them. so I skipped quite a few times. my last mp started on 19 July until 24 July and then I had a spotting on the 15th of July, since then nothing...today is the 15th Aug and still nothing... What are the chances for me being pregnant? I was also on an antibiotic from the 25th of July until the 30th of July, Please help ## Hi, Clover! Have you done a pregnancy test? If you've missed pills, been active, and were on an antibiotic, then your chances of getting pregnant were definitely increased. You should consult your doctor to have a test done and to discuss your future birth control options. If you have trouble remembering to take pills regularly, there are others that you can use to avoid s...

I had an emergency pill about 3 weeks before i started using the Oralcon pills, and took my 1st pill on the 2nd day of my menstruation, although my periods were not normal because of the emergency pill, but i still had my periods at that time, with less bleeding than usual. I'm on my 3rd pack of the Oralcon pills now, and i never had any periods since my 2nd pack, even when I'm on the red pills. I'm worried now, i want my periods back. Is there any possibility that I'm pregnant? I never skipped any pills and i always took them at the same time everyday. Or its it because i started using the Oralcon pills with abnormal periods? Please help.. ## Hello, Judith! How are you? Some women just don't have periods while taking hormonal contraceptives like this, there's no...

I am currently taking my Oralcon pills at 16:20 and now i want to change the time to 21:00. Is it possible for me to do that? Will this not affect my circle in any way? ## Hello, Judith! How are you? It shouldn't as long as there isn't a gap between them of 24 hours or more, a few hours is usually fine. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi. I've been using oralcon for TEN years since the birth of my son. Over the past few months I noticed I have I been bleeding whilst I'm on the white pill. Maybe a day or two. But this month my period came fast and furios while still on the white, I still have 3 days to go before I reach the red. And I take my pil religioisly. Pls help. Do I need a diffrent pill? ## Hello, Maria! How are you? Yes, you may need to try a different contraceptive. Overtime, your natural hormone levels will change and that coupled with the hormones in these pills might just be the wrong combination for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi. I've had the Nexplanon implant since March 2017, and because my periods come more often (like twice or 3 times a month) or get longer (10 days or more), my doctor told me to take Oralcon to stop the bleeding- a pill a day for 5 days. I'm just wondering if using Nexplanon and Oralcon together would cancel each other out and make me pregnant, or mess me up in some way. Thanks.

Hi, I was intimate with my partner yesterday, and a friend told me to take 4 pills of oralcon contraceptive at once since it was an emergency. Then I was told to take 4 more today; then I should stop. Please help me cause I have no idea what I am doing...

This is my 1st time using the pill, it was given to me by my doc regulate my period. I'm on my 5th white pill now and I'm experiencing the worst side effects ever. I get abdominal cramps all the time and really bad headaches. Sometimes I wake up trembling and I have noticed that I have gained a lot of weight even though my eating habits are still the same. Is this normal for first time users of oralcon? And is there any alternative brand I can use that would not make me feel this way? ## Hello, Lola! Sorry that you are so miserable. No, you shouldn't be experiencing problems that extreme, especially when you haven't been taking it very long. Please contact your doctor, there are other options that you can try, instead. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Hey I have been using oralcon for five days now nd I'm new to it I didn't start with da pill on my period my boyfriend nd I slept together last night but the condom burst ....could I get pregnant because I woke up sick ... ## Hello, Nunkils! How are you doing? You wouldn't be showing pregnancy symptoms that fast. Yes, there is a risk, if you had only taken them for 5 days, but I think you most likely just woke up sick, because you were worried about it. When are you due for your period? You need to wait until then and have yourself tested, if you go a week or more late.

This is my first time using the Oralcon. 1. I'm currently breastfeeding my 5 month old baby and I realized when I started the pill my milk production is less. Could the pill be the cause. Also 2. I've taken all 21 of the white pills and I'm on my third red pill and my period is here. Do I stop taking the red pills and start taking another set of white ones or do I continue taking the red pills until its finished before I start another pack? ## Hello, Kimmy! How are you? Yes, you should continue taking them and then start a new pack once you finish this one, according to the NIH. As to milk production, the NIH does not that anything that may affect your hormones could also change your milk production. Is your baby still being adequately fed? Are you on any other medications? ...

Hi I'm nthabiseng and I have just started using oralcon...it was given to me by a nurse/sister at the clinic, she told me to take it same day given to me after I told her I took my periods two weeks back and as I read the intruction it states you must take them on the first day of your periods.....my question is that (will it work preventing me from being pregnant or not).....I'm a bit CONFUSED because I did as intructed at the clinic!!! ## If you start taking them on the first or second day of your period, then you will be immediately protected from pregnancy. However, if you start them at any other time during your cycle, they must be taken for a full 7 days, without missing any tablets, in order for them to reach their efficacy level in your body and protect you from pregnancy...

Hi...I've been using the 2month injection for a few months now, and I was given the oralcon because of my iregular periods... Is it safe to use both the injection and the pill? ## Hello, Sthandwa! How are you doing? There's a good chance that the shot is causing your irregular periods and adding the hormonal contraceptive on top of it might just make things even worse. What type of doctor have you consulted?
