Hello. As stated before by others I went to my PCP today and he would not prescribe it to me... Instead said I need to see a dietician.. I meet all the criteria listed. I also did all my research... He wouldn't give me a name of another doctor. He printed out websites to help me lose weight. I am located in northeast Ohio. Does anyone know a doctor I can see? Do I try and find a different PCP?

Yes, that is true. New regulations have been put in place that require anyone needing such medications on a long-term ongoing basis see a specialist. However, your PCP should be able to provide you with a referral. Norco is now a schedule 2 drug, it is narcotic that carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. My pcp prescribed norco for me until I can see a surgeon for cervical spine pain. He initially gave me a script for 30 with one refill and I was to take one a day. This wasn't enough for the pain, so he called in another script for 25 and wrote it to take one every 6 hours. I refilled the 30 script on the 5th and the pharmacy won't refill the script for 25 today the 15th. Is there any way to get this filled ? ## I would suggest contacting your doctor, it would seem that the pharmacy hasn't noted the dosage change. If they had, there shouldn't be a problem filling it for you. If you need such medications for long-term treatment of chronic pain, due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Can anyone tell me a good pain doctor in Philadelphia. Looking for percocet 30s ## Hello, Networks son! How are you? There is no such thing as a Percocet 30. Percocet is a combination medication that contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, it is only available in a maximum dosage of 10mgs Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Anything higher than that would most likely be just Oxycodone by itself, in either the time released formulation known by the trade name Oxycontin or the regular release formulation available under the trade name Roxicodone, as well as as a generic. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. A PCP can technically prescribe such pain medications, but due to the new directives set forth by the DEA last year, most of them will not, especially for new patients. Looking for a doctor who prescribes methadone for pain in massachusetts ## Hello, Eric! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. If you require such a medication on a long-term, ongoing basis for chronic pain, you'll have to see a pain management specialist, since a PCP will no longer be able to prescribe it for you. And the only thing you can really do is set up an appointment with a specialist, make sure they receive a full copy of your current medical records, then keep the appointment so you can discuss what they will or will not do to help you. If you aren't happy with them, you'll have to try someone else. However, you can't ask about any specific medication, when y...

Thus, it also requires a doctor's prescription. Do you have a PCP that may be able to help?
