is Soma considered an opioid? ## No. It isn't related in any way to opioids. It is related to an ancient tranquilliser called meprobamate which was widely used in the 1950s but hardly at all since benzodiazepines hit the market. Another name for carisoprodol is ISOMEPROBAMATE. An amount of your Soma/Carisoma is metabolised by the liver into meprobamate so as well as being a superb muscle relaxant it does have a slight tranquillising effect. Barely noticeable though it does tend to potentiate the triazolo-benzos like alprazolam. I wonder where the notion that it was an opioid came from? That's one I never heard before! ## soma is not a opiate, IN FACT IN THE USA IT IS NOT EVEN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE!. i never understood what all the hype was about, they only putt me to sleep. Is it safe to take o tropin while on lisinopril and simvastatin? ## O-Tropin reportedly contains a blend of natural amino acids and herbs. Although I find it strange that I cannot locate any specific details on what these ingredients are exactly. From my own past experience, most natural supplements tend to fair well when used in conjunction with prescription meds. So in my opinion it should be fine. But, you may have to be your own best judge in this case, since natural supplements are not regulated like prescription drugs; and therefore aren't classified in a way that compares possible interactions with each and every other medication. I hope this advice helps!

I was put on Oxybutynin almost a year ago. It started because I have severe Crohns disease and woke up one morning after an extended flare up unable to walk. I went to the hospital and they found a blood clot inside my heart blocking off 90% of blood flow (amazing, I know.) Due to that and quickly dropping blood pressure I was forced to stay in bed for 5 weeks, then I slipped into a coma for 36 days. Being in a coma for that amount time they had put in a Foley. I had to stay on a Foley for 10 1/2 months straight. After removing it they said my bladder would struggle so this drug would help. It's been about a year since then, I've been in a wheelchair ever since. I'm hoping this background info will help anyone of you with my question. I have trouble remembering how well this...

I just want to knowledge about long term use i use 10mg to relax to get to sleep i couldnt sleep for months 3 Without it 47 year old female it sucks to be me ## Hi Christian, I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances you've been dealing with. To my understanding, taking a drug like Klonopin (clonazepam) every day can increase the likelihood of you becoming physically dependent (and having to increase your dose to get the same effect over time). More specific details on the long-term effects of benzodiazepines can be found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-term_effects_of_benzodiazepines It is also my opinion that alternating daily between 4 or 5 different treatment options will be more beneficial for those who require long term relief; that way you don't necessarily build a t...

morphine-like, pain-killer ## Actually, Roxanol isn't Morphine-like, that's what the actual active ingredient in it is, it is just another brand name for a formulation of Morphine. At one point, the FDA wanted it removed from the market, due to the unapproved dosing concentration, so I am not sure if it is still available at this time. You can learn more Morphine details here. This narcotic may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. And this particular concentration, which as I've mentioned has drawn FDA safety concerns, is usually only used for palliative care. Are there any comments or questions?

I currently take very high dosages of oxycodone 30mg ir and dilaudid 8mg. I think after the process of elimination that my body isn't tolerating the morphine (dilaudid) and I've been on oxy for years. I was on 80mg oc before the op and couldn't tolerate new op because of binder I wasn't getting the needed meds. I need to go off of the dilaudid going to dr tomorrow, I want to be educated and know if I switch over to only oxycodone is it reasonable to ask for the equivalent of oxy to the dilaudid in addition to the amount of oxy I am currently taking? Thank you and FYI I take 90mg oxy 4x day and 16mg dilaudid 4x day and I stagger so that pain is controlled round the clock. Thank you ps what I woul like is oxy equal to dilaudid dosage. ## Dialudid contains Hydromorphone, it...

clopivas AP ## I had a by pass surgery about a year back for last one year i am taking clopivas-ap150 but now a doctor has stopped this and prescribed ecosprin 150mg with which i am not comfortable can i continue with clopivas even after one year ## Clopivas contains Clopidogrel and Aspirin, it is used to help prevent blood clotting. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. As to continuing it, it is always best to follow your doctor's instructions. Ecosprin 150 contains 150mgs of Aspirin, so it is only lacking the Clopidogrel. If you aren't comfortable with the switch, you should consult the doctor to ask them more questions, or perhaps see a different doctor for a second opinio...

How safe is taking klonopin with 70mgs of methadone? I have 4 anxiety disorders, high bp and spinal stenosis with sciatica etc. Finally got help for pain at methadone clinic. I did not know what else to do. My klonopin is 2mgs 3 times a day but only taking 2 a day and all seems well. Also taking seraquel at night 50mgs for sleep. So is this safe? I can't beleive I had to go this way for pain help but seems to be helping. ## It's a potentially dangerous mixture. Although it may not be harmful to those with an opioid and benzo tolerance this combination could cause too much CNS depression leading to respiratory failure. I'd say to just be VERY careful. I had a friend who, with very little opioid tolerance, went to sleep after taking methadone with valium and never woke up. ## ...

What is the maximum/day my pcp can prescribe long term opiates without going to pain management. Specialists are expensive for me but not the medication. Im currently only getting 5 5mg oxycodone from pain management because old pcp wont mess with it. Thnks for help. Isnt up 80mg/day allowed? ## By Federal Law, Schedule II can be perscribed for a max of 90 days without seeing the dr. This applies to all drs. The dr can write 3 30 days rxs for s Schedule II. Although most won't because they don't make any money of they don't see the patient. Put state of ohio and schedule II restrictions in your search bar. That should give you the info regarding your state laws. Or you can go to the Ohio Board of Pharmacy website. ## New regulations were put in place last year restricting wh...

How do you get off of opiates? ## Although I would recommend that your doctor be the one who sets up & monitors your tapering dosage, usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In my opinion, another key component to weaning off is to make yourself a tapering schedule on a calendar in order track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this advice he...

Hello. I’m Rick. I was wondering about an issue with my left eye drooping when I get up in the morning. Someone mentioned it could be an eye allergy so I bought Visine allergy drops and it helps for like 3 hours then it starts to droop again, then I put the drops in and it’s fixed again. Just wanted some opinions. Also, I forgot to mention my eyebrow moves upward towards my hair and when I use the drops it relaxes again. Thanks for any thoughts. ## Have you consulted your medical care provider? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions? Do you take any medications on a regular basis? The FDA lists the typical optical issues from allergies as including eye redness, tearing, itching, and general irritation, but drooping it not a normal issue associated with them. How much s...
