Can I open up the capsule and put it directly on the infected gum? Pain from my wisdom tooth. Caused gum infection doc gave me a amox.500mg first day on it and I'm in s serious pain my neck ear and head can sleep loss appetite. ## Hello, Dinky! How are you? I'm sorry about the infection, those can be really painful! This is not a pain reliever, it is an antibiotic, so no, that won't do anything. You need to swallow the capsules, as directed. Side effects to this medication may include dizziness, drowsiness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. To know if they're working, the general rule with antibiotics is that you shouldn't see any worsening of your condition, after taking them for a full 24 hours and you should start to see improvement after taking them for a full...

how long does amoxicillin un open in the fridge.and can i still use it ## HI, Wendy! How are you? If it's a liquid that was already mixed, then it's shelf life is very short, even if kept refrigerated. It's really only good for about 14 days (2 weeks) and then you should dispose of it. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. Side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I decided to break open my 40mg capsule and swallow it. BAD IDEA. It burned my throat like no tomorrow and made my whole head numb....Gross tasting and made me vomit. Whoever might think this a good idea... Just don't do it! Oh and it made me feel like I was choking to death also....Great...Worse than the anxiety I already had. Perfect... ## It is to prevent such effects, that they are made into a capsule form. Many medications will do odd things if you ingest them improperly, that is why tablets and capsules were invented. And yes, most of them also taste disgusting. Thanks for posting the warning for others! Are you feeling better, now? ## Whoever has to take fluoxetine make sure they drink lot's of water with it .I had just finished a night shift and took my capsule with mayb...

GLYX-13 open label study is now scheduled to begin in June, according to my local study center. I will update as I get more info. ## What is an open label study? Is is another trial? AND CAN ANYONE SAY HOW ONE GETS TO PARTICIAPATE IN THE STUDY?? I just learned about GLYX-13 and have been trying to find out what's going on with it. I've been depressed all my life, have tried everything I can think of, and nothing helps. Not drugs, not exercise, not psychotherapy, not meditation…. I got to the point I just wasn't willing to try anything else anymore. But this sounds different, and hopeful. I would be so grateful if I could get help... ## @post #1, An open label trial is basically a type of clinical trial in which both the researchers as well as the participants know what...

I CAN'T SWALLOW PILLS AND WAS WONDERING IF YOU CAN BREAK OPEN A LIQUICAP AND GET THE MEDICINE OUT. ## It should be safe to do with these, since they aren't time released, unless your doctor specifically instructs you otherwise. However, with the Ibuprofen and other ingredients, it is likely to cause some irritation to your mouth, esophagus and stomach, plus taste terrible. Vick's products, however, are listed as containing Acetaminophen, not Ibuprofen, though the same information still applies. Have you discussed it with your doctor?

I CANT SWALLOW LARGE PILLS AND WAS WONDERING IF YOU CAN BREAK OPEN A LIQUICAP AND GET THE MEDICINE OUT. ## It would actually depend on what the medication is, because some of them can be harmful to your stomach and esophagus if taken in this manner. Can you please post back with more information?

So I've been lurking around here for a while when I saw someone say fruta planta contained 18 mg of sibutramine. Now I looked up what the highest dosage a doctor could give a patient and apparently, it only goes up to 15 mg. That kinda freaked me out since I've already bought the pills and I'm still desperate to shed some pounds. Then I remembered how as a kid, my mom would tear open capsules that I have a tough time swallowing and just mix it with yogurt. Can't I just do the same and pour half the contents of the pill into yogurt or something? Will it cause any side affects? Cause worst case scenario, nothing happens and I still get hungry. ## Sibutramine is dangerous in any amount. It was pulled from the market in the U.S., Canada and most other countries back in 2010 ...

I am age 56. One year ago I did avr by open heart surgery. I am taking ecosprin 75mg. Today while I was taking a hot shower and bath I started getting a bloody nose. Is this a side effect of ecosprin or is it related to the heart surgery I had in any way? ## This medication can cause blood thinning as a side effect, according to NIH reports, so yes, it could have caused the bloody nose. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications? How long did it take for the bleeding to stop?

Looking for a Dr in Grand Rapids that isn't a closed minded neanderthal. I've been to 2 different docs in the past 4 months. I was quite active growing up and as a result suffered quite a few injuries. Between sports, military, and work life, my 38 year old body feels like its 70. Chronic fatigue, back pain, sharp pains going down legs is a daily torment. The first doc I saw put me on Cymbalta for three months to no effect. He then diagnosed poison ivy as a viral infection (really?) Needless to say I didn't remain with him. And the second he told me after one visit, that fibromyalgia doesn't exist (mother, father, and sister are all diagnosed with it by the way). After initial blood work he informed me that nothing was abnormal and we could discuss further treatments. Kn...

I had open heart surgery a few weeks ago and still have pain in my chest and back and arms from the operation. My Doctor says that taking Dolac 30 Mg will make my legs swell and yet the 10 Mg she has presecribed for me is not working at all. Any advice on this? Any others have adverse reactions such as swollen legs or whatever. Help in the form of an informed answered would be much appreciate.

many times i have experienced skipped /irreg. pulse it started up again on 7/14 through now my pulse does not go over 70 and my b/p never over 120/72.i am suffering from seasonal allergies i took a loratadine 10 mg should i be ok ## Hello, Susan! How are you? Did you suffer any adverse effects? What other medications do you take? Generally, most antihistamines should be avoided by someone with cardiac issues, because they can elevate heart rate and blood pressure. Most doctors recommend that patients just take Benadryl, but you'd need to check with your doctor about what's safe for you to take.

What will happen if my capsule breaks open before I swallow it? ## Do you mean it's breaking open in your mouth, before you have a chance to swallow it? If that is what's happening, then you actually aren't taking it properly. Rather than letting it sit in the moist environment of your mouth long enough for your saliva to start dissolving the capsule, it should be placed as far back in your mouth, as possible. Such as towards the back of the tongue, at the very top of the throat, just far enough so you don't gag or choke on it and then swallowed with a full 8 ounce glass of water immediately. You can learn more Cymbalta details here.

I have been on zubsolv for about 3 months now, before that I was on Suboxone and in my recent prescription I opened up about 6 blister packs and there was no pill inside. I am currently on 2 1.4mgs a day so I had 2 boxes. It seemed like 1 pill per 10 piece sheet was missing. I sent an email to orexo and they gave me a # to call just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and looking for advice on what to do? Should I contact the Pharmacy, doctor ETC. a little scared with how strict they are with this stuff. My doctor won't even take you a day early and I have been on this stuff for years. ## Hi Hunter, Sorry to hear about your experience with missing pills. It sure sounds to me like someone must've been tampering with the prescription. I would definitely encourage you to c...

I take oramorph daily, I have a half used bottle of oramorph that has been open for over a year. It's still well within the use by date but the bottle says discard 3 months after opening. It seems a waste to throw it away, will this be OK to use? It's not dangerous is it? ## I'd like to know the same as you about the date. Ours is a year or more old and opened. I'd like to know if there would be problems taking it. Does the efficiently degrade or even make the mixture stronger. Thanks. ## If the meds were kept in the bottle, in a climate controlled house, then you're good to go. I have left pills in my glove box in the summertime and they got weaker and weaker because of the heat. As hard as it is the get pain meds these days, I would hang on to those, they will work...

Can I use an open liquid amoxicillin for a 2 year old that I got on 11/03/2016? He's been messing with one of his ears. ## Hi Sara, I see you posted this back on December 28th 2016 so you may have already come to a consensus on what to do... But I would say that if it has been left open for nearly two months or longer then that's probably not something I would recommend taking. Liquid solutions in particular I believe are more susceptible to going bad than tablets. Not to mention that any impurities might have made their way into the open bottle during that time period. I also think the effort to get a fresh antibiotic will ultimately be worth while, to ensure the safety and efficacy of the treatment. My best wishes to you and your son!

Can i take Oramorph that has been open for more than 3 months, but is still within its expiration date? I got it for my knee pains about a year ago and it just flared up again, but i don't have time to go back to the hospital as i have exams. ## I'd like to know the same as you about the date. Ours is a year or more old and opened. I'd like to know if there would be problems taking it. Does the efficiently degrade or even make the mixture stronger. Thanks. ## Given that this is a liquid formulation, it is advisable that you not take it past the expiration. Liquid medication don't last as long as solid forms, and they may actually go rancid, and could make you ill, if you take them. However, if it is within the expiration, it should still be fine to use. The FDA warns tha...

I am 39 and recently had quintuple bypass surgery. They took one artery out of each arm, a vein from my leg and used my mammoral artery. The surgeon said I would have to take diltiazem for about 3 months post-op so my radial arteries wont pulse and close off. My cardiologist says that I need to be on it for the rest of my life. My surgeon is also a cardiologist. Who should I listen to? Is the cardiologist just saying that to get kickbacks? Three months is a big difference from the rest of my life. ## Hello, Jay! How are you? Generally bypass patients do need to take such a medication for the rest of their lives, your surgeon may have just said it would be 3 months, initially, then you should be reevaluated to see how you are doing. Unless he owns a pharmacy, there is no way for your car...

Have Jetrea injection Wednesday - my entire eye is red - have floaters - with bright green lines all over both eye close and open, decreased vision - only see grey shadow - this is day 2 post injection is it normal. ## Hi kakimom, Based on my research, vitreous floaters are listed among the most commonly reported adverse effects of Jetrea injection. Shown below are other potentially serious side effects that you should be aware of while taking this medication: conjunctival hemorrhage, eye pain, photopsia, blurred vision, macular hole, reduced visual acuity, visual impairment, and retinal edema. Although this may explain some of the symptoms you've been experiencing, it would probably be best to contact your doctor as soon as possible so you can prevent this from occurring any more t...

I need to see a doctor todY for my bulging discs because i am in severe pain and my doctor is not available to see for 3 weeks i use norcos 10/325 twice a day and valium for anti seizure sleep and an iety 10 mg twice a day ## Hello, Eric! How are you? I'm sorry, but these types of doctors no longer exist. There are many regulations in place regarding prescribing practices and you most likely won't even be able to get all of your medications from one doctor, anymore, but rather you'll need to see several specialists. The only other option would be to try your local ER, if your pain gets too severe. Is there anything else I can help with?
