Hello I take opana 40mg Er 3x daily with 8mg of deluded for break threw pain. I have l3-l5 fussed I have Ben on opana now for 6months before that mscontin and oxy. The opana does work for me with little to no side effects I have to agree with fellow commenters about the abuse of the drugs. All it does is make it hard on people like my self that suffer from chronic pain. It is good that they make the drugs more tamper proof but in some cases the drug failed to work because of the new formulation. ## @Bahm, In my honest opinion, it really comes down to just being open to other forms of treatment options so one isn't fully dependent upon big pharma (or any other single source of medication) to cover all their needs. That way if something does happen with a medication, we don't nece...

What is opana a equal to in lotabs 10 ## Hello, Renee! How are you? Not factoring the effect of the Acetaminophen in the Lortab, you'd need 30mgs of the Hydrocodone to be equivalent to each 10mg Opana. However, it also should be noted that the Lortab is not time released, like the Opana ER, so it's pain relieving effects won't last as long throughout the day and due to the Acetaminophen in the Lortab, it isn't safe to take multiples of them, unless your doctor specifically approves. Even then, you have to make sure not to exceed 3,000mgs a day, or you risk overdose toxicity. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constip...

My husband has severe rheumatoid arthritis and requires 24 pain management. We felt there were too many ups and downs with the 50 mcg fentanyl patch and asked for something new. Pain Management Dr. (PMD) changed him to MS Contin 15 mg. He was in bed for 4 solid days, was taking 4-6 percocet per day for breakthrough and was anorexic and irritable. He changed him to Opana ER 15. Can anyone explain how that might be more effective for him??? Thanks! ## Percocet is adding a lot of acetominiphine (sp?) That may end up hurting his stomach. My Dr. took me off Percocet and put me on oxycodone IR and Opana er. The Opana is 30mg. This works well for me. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, which is a very potent narcotic. May of the year, I started the Opana ER 20mg and for me this has been wonderful. I was only able to afford oxycodone prior to the start of insurance in May. Been fighting a crazy battle with the oxycodone pain relief, cause the pharmacy keeps pushing KVK Tech product that doesn't work for me and has side effects. With Opana ER 20mg as my primary pain relief and Oxycodone 10mg for breakthrough pain, I am finally adjusting where I can function, which It has been a long time. Several years ago when I first started with oxycodone 30mg, life was good because I could function and then my local pharmacies started slipping the KVK products in on me and life became awful. Have heard that some people find the Opana makes them very sleepy. Lucky but so far I haven't had a problem. ## Hi Su...

My 7 doctors agreed that I would have to be on pain meds the rest of my life after a auto accident in 1981, after more than 50 surgeries I was put on disability until I found a old doctor who help put back to the point I had a union of both bones mid shaft of Tibia & Fibula, plus 7 crushed disk, right rotator cuff that pops out & many other injuries. From 1981 until 1990 I was on just about ever form of pain meds the doctors said I needed. I was nuts by then, this was all military & VA doctors. I have been prescribed Opana ER 40 mg three times a day, since 2003. In the last two months it has become unavailable from the manufacturer, you. I have been able to substitute 20 mg ER and it works, just more pills. Now they have become unavailable, and it hurts. You can't just stop taking this medication. I'm sure you know after eight years you go thru withdrawals on top of the pain. What can I replace the Opana with? ## No, this site is not the manufacturer, this site does not manufacture any medications, or products, this is an information only website. The reason the Opana was in short supply was to do to the fact that the manufacturer was reformulating the tablets to help prevent abuse. However, they have recently become available again, so you should be able to find them ...

Can ms contin 100mg be taken with opana er 20mg? ## Well MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine. Opana ER contains Oxymorphone. The Oxymorphine is much more powerful and only requires a fraction of the dose that was being taken of the Morphine. Both are time released. They also share the same side effect profiles: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I was on Opana about 8 years ago but it was at a time that I was still working. After a few days of taking it I started to get dizzy, sleepy and my computer monitor appeared wavy. I couldn't work like that so I asked to have my old meds back. I wish I had never done that cuz now I'm permanently disabled and cannot seem to get my doc to put me back on Opa...

Wanted to share with everyone how happy I am to have finally received the new generic Opana ER 20mg tablets from my pharmacy. I had found Opana to be very effective for my chronic pain and was very sad when they switched it over to the new formula as it wasn't nearly effective as the original octagon shaped tablets and caused stomach aches. These new generic ones seem to me to be as effective as the original formula had been. The tablets I received show to be made by Global Pharmaceuticals and are a small, round, green tablet with G73 imprinted on them. I'm happy to report that these are just like the original formula. Now I no longer have stomach aches from taking those plastic pills that Endo is selling. I sure do hope that these remain as they are, but I have read a couple ar...

I have tried Subutex for 4 month, it does not help my stomach pain and getting worse. I can't enjoy life or my new daughter and it's affecting job as well. I was told it helped someone else but it doesn't for me. I moved back to my home town and now can go back to my Dr. I would like to see them again and get back on something for the pain I would like to at least enjoy life - I know it's not gonna fix it but at least allow me to function and live a little better. I've fracture my T-Spine in 5 separate placesThe pain isunbearable. Just want to know if they still make the rapid release Opana or Oxicontin or will they be manufacturing them again. I was on Opana 40 2 x daily plus 10 mg of oxymorphone hcl every 6 hrs. Since the recent changes, I have been switched to Arymo 60 2x daily and still take the 10 mg oxymorphone every 6 hrs. The Arymo does not seem to be working well. Is there something else that I can ask for that will help with the pain? I too am awake most of the night tossing and turning due to pain. The 10 of the oxymorphone does not seem to have the same effect that it used to when I first started taking it. I've been on these meds for approx. 5 years steady. I have degenerative disc disease and have taken opana ir and er for a while. My doctor has changed me to morphine since opana has left the market temporarily. I do not like the morphine. Could someone out there recommend something comparable to opana er 40 and ir 20 ## Opana is actually back on the market, though still in limited quantities in some areas, so you may want to have your doctor's office check with your local pharmacies to see who has it in stock, so you can go back to it. It was actually just a temporary shortage, while they were reformulating the tablets to help prevent abuse. The shelf life of Opana ER is 3 years. It has been reported elsewhere that this product has a relatively short shelf life, but it was difficult to obtain a definite answer. As a result, we contacted the manufacturer directly (Endo Pharmaceuticals) at (866) 395-8301, and they were happy to provide us with an answer over the phone. We also mentioned that we were looking through their product information sheets and that this information was not available. They stated that the shelf life of Opana would not be mentioned in the PI sheets, and that we did the right thing by calling them directly. Anyways, we hope this information is helpful to everyone, as we've had a few inquiries about this recently. Once again - the shelf life of Opana ER is three years. ## Great that's what I was w...
