Hello I take opana 40mg Er 3x daily with 8mg of deluded for break threw pain. I have l3-l5 fussed I have Ben on opana now for 6months before that mscontin and oxy. The opana does work for me with little to no side effects I have to agree with fellow commenters about the abuse of the drugs. All it does is make it hard on people like my self that suffer from chronic pain. It is good that they make the drugs more tamper proof but in some cases the drug failed to work because of the new formulation. ## @Bahm, In my honest opinion, it really comes down to just being open to other forms of treatment options so one isn't fully dependent upon big pharma (or any other single source of medication) to cover all their needs. I have been waiting for medicaid, my husband has medicare, both my son & I were not included on getting RX, or Dr's care. I have my percription, That I need and it is 1226.63, I cannot afford to get this, and their is no help at all in the state of New jersey.... they will let you die, because of paper work? I have been taking Opana er 40mg for over a year. My last refill was April 12, i was given a round pill with 40 on one side and E on the back. I am in constant pain! Any suggestions, I take 3 per day with 10/325 percocets 4x day. The pharmacy told the Dr. i must have been crushing my pills - i wasn't. I'm not crazy, these pills don't work. ## The Opana time released tablets were recently reformulated, with the intent to make them harder to abuse. Usually if you take Opana ER 40mg, the doctor will also prescribe Opana 10mg to take every four to six hours as needed for breakthrough pain. I was prescribed that way for a long time, but now choose oxycodone 30mg over the Opana 10mg because the dosage is stronger because 1mg of opana=2mg oxycodone.

How do I stop taking opana er40 mg. I also take 10/325 Percocet. Should I try cutting down month to month or go to a rehab and have that instant detox done while I'm under? ## How much are you taking? Are you actually addicted and abusing them, or are you just taking them via a doctor's prescription and not taking more than prescribed? Are there any tricks to get the insurance company to authorize opana when the 2 other medications that they cover are giving me way to many debilitating side effects . My pain doc switched me to opana or OxyContin so I'd get pain relief without sedation, itching , rashes and vomiting . I've tried OxyContin and I had none of those side effects. i wanted to get some more feedback regarding Opana 40 mg ER and any side affects that you may have. I have two herniated disc's L4-L5 & L5/S1 & I have stonisis of the spine as well.. I am only 39yrs old and my pain management Doctor referred me to this type of pain medication since I am way to young to have back surgery. I am currently on my second steroid IV of dexamethasone which is a series of 3 intravenous doses and they have done nothing so far with the inflammation. Doesn't relieve pain. ## Opana was recently reformulated to help prevent abuse and, unfortunately, just as when this was done with OxyContin, it has turned out to not be as effective in some people that use it and, in some cases, to cause odd side effects. Have you contacted your doctor? You may need to switch to a different medication.

Inventories constantly change on a moment to moment basis as patients fill prescriptions and pick up orders. Calling them generally isn't recommend either, since many pharmacists are trained to say no to a stranger on the phone asking for narcotics. So one would essentially have to go in person (with your script in hand) to a particular pharmacy in order to ask if they have what you need in stock. what happens if u put water on it? ## It gets wet. ## If you just get it damp/moist, it will start to dissolve the outer coating of the tablet. This should not be done, however, as it could result in the medication being released to quickly, resulting in an overdose. Opana is a narcotic pain medication, so it must be used very carefully and should only be taken as instructed by your doctor. Are there any other questions?

I have been prescribed Opana ER 40 mg three times a day, since 2003. In the last two months it has become unavailable from the manufacturer, you. I have been able to substitute 20 mg ER and it works, just more pills. Now they have become unavailable, and it hurts. You can't just stop taking this medication. I'm sure you know after eight years you go thru withdrawals on top of the pain. I am currently prescribed opana 40 my 2 times a day problem is I just moved to Cleveland Area and finding docs here sucks. I am with one now who was the coolest and saw my records and prescribed my opana 40 mg right away. Problem is it's not enough and I run out early by a few days all the Time and I am super good about taking my meds but after being hit by drunk driver and life flighted I have extreme problems. I am on both of these meds do to severe medical issues. I take 40 Mg of opana 4 x daily and 30 Mg of oxycodone 5 x daily as well as Nortriptyline 150 Mg twice daily and neurontin 600 Mg 3 x daily. Needless to say a few different stomach medication due to chronic nausea. Oh and also phenergan pills and injectable. My question is has anyone found anything other than multiple medications to relieve severe chronic pain. ## I also have severe medical problems and nothing works. For two years was on 3Mg iv dilaudid every three hours and 120 percocet 10/325 every month. Zofran for nausea.
