Is there any other medication that can be used for back pain that is not addictive ## Hello, Bud! How are you? Yes, there are others that might help that aren't habit forming opioids. Some anticonvulsants, such as Gabapentin have been shown to help with some types of nerve pain. Typical side effects to them include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Several of the SSRI antidepressants have also been known to help, they carry side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, weight changes and mood swings. Another category would be the nonsteroidal ant-inflammatories, such as Meloxicam. Typical side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, stomach pain and increased risk of bleeding. However, they do not work like opiates and are not as potent. Is there...

what does an opana 60 mg look like? ## There is not a 60mg Opana available on the U.S. market. Opana is a very potent narcotic that contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is only available in a maximum of 10mgs. Was it perhaps a different medication that you were thinking of? There are tablets of both Morphine and Oxycodone that are available in 60mg dosages. ## Opana is not available in a 60mg. pill. You would need to be prescribed 1-40mg., and 1-20mg., in order to be taking 60mg. of Opana. ## Is there a red round 60 mg opana?

Do they make a 60mg opana now or do they give you two 30s at a time? Someone please bye very helpful!! ## Opana is only available in a maximum of 40mgs. And, except in extreme cases such as someone having terminal cancer pain, no a doctor would not be able to prescribe that much. Learn more Opana details here. Under the new regulations, anyone else requiring this medication for pain can only receive the maximum available dosage, the maximum number of recommended times per day…. and even if a doctor did try to write for 2 of the 30mg tablets, no pharmacy would fill it. As I said, the only exceptions to the new regulations are those in severe pain from terminal illness. I just got my monthly fill of Oxy 60 oc. But this fill I noticed the pills say 60 and on the other side it is stamped op. Is this the same meds as I have been taking? Thank you. Tom P. ## Yes, it is the same medication, this is just the new Oxycontin OP, it has been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Otherwise, it still contains Oxycodone, is supposed to work the same and has the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Do you have any other questions?

Got a prescription filled and it don't look the same.... what is it? It has 60 on one side and OP on the other, it is a redish color and is round. ## This is a new version of Oxycontin, manufactured to help prevent abuse, it is called Oxycontin OP. These new pills still indicate the dosage, this one is 60mgs, however, even if you try to abuse them by crushing, they will not release the dosage all at once, instead they retain their time release nature. Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. My Pain Dr is changing my medication from oxycontin 60 mg to opana 30 He is trying to get the pain level to a point that I can be to a point My pain is live able What is the difference I am reading its twice as strong but If your getting 1/2 your dose So Wont the pain medication still more or less be the Same? I start on Monday So any info is appreciated thank you ## SWEET: Supposedly, the Opana actually stays around for 12 hours, whereas you probably know, the Oxy does not. BUT: Opana is very expensive, and depending on where you live, it is very hard to find a pharmacy that carries it. I live in a large metropolitan area, and I found 1 pharmacy that had it, but my copay was 330.00, so I declined. Also, check with your insurance company about what drugs they will pay for in that class ...

is there injection form of this pill and what would happen if you did inject it? ## Hello, Fancy! How are you? There is a liquid that is formulated for such use. It isn't safe to do that with pills, since they contain fillers and excipients that may cause blockages. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Just switched over from oxy 30mg instant release 6x daily to oxycontin 60mg with 2 30mg IR for breakthrough. Been on this for a long time. I find that I'm very disappointed with the oxycontin 60 it seems to only last 5 hours at the most and I have many breakthrough pains during that period of time. I've heard of oxymorphone ER and want to know if this would be better for me due to opioid tolerance. If anybody can give me opinions on this please do. Thanks. ## First off, the 30mg that you're taking cannot be instant release tablets, the instant release is only available in a 5mg capsule. If you're taking 30mg tablets, then they have to be the regular release formulation, which is a generic for Roxicodone. Learn more Roxicodone details here. And the Oxycontin just doesn...

Red pill op on one side and 60 on other side ## This is a 60mg Oxycontin OP tablet, the new formulation from Purdue, the original product had an OC on it, rather than the OP. This is a potent narcotic pain reliever, it contains the active ingredient Oxycodone. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more: Are there any comments or questions? ## I have been notified by my pharmacist that the 40 Oc. will no longer be available. I was wondering if the Op's have side effects that will cause your Bp meds not to work as they should. I heard that it messes up certain meds you take cause of the plastic in the op's. I am really worried about taking something new. ## no no no not oxycodone...morphine sulfate...60mg made by same maker oxycontin

Since I started the 60mg op I have been feeling lots of discomfort in my chest, like pressure against my heart like a heart attack, but what I think is going on is it's backing up my bowels causing all this discomfort I never felt when I was just on norco. I've read here where op causes constipation, I'm wondering if this could be the reason for all the discomfort I'm in? I've noticed a change in my bowel movements, like smaller sized stools, not nearly as much is coming out like it used to do. Should I consider using a stool softener or a laxative to see if my discomfort subsides or should I head to the ER and say I'm having a heart attack only to find out I've got side effects happening related to this new drug I'm on? This feeling of constant pressure ...

i have been taking oxy oc 60mg 2aday as prescribed never abused them last month it was swiched to 60mg of the new oxy op not nearly as effective and double the cost ## Switching to the new one has nothing to do with abuse, everyone has to switch, because they are no longer making the original. Once the pharmacies run out of their current supply, they will all have the new product and can only fill prescriptions with it. There have been many complaints that it is not as effective in the new formulation and some people have mentioned having weird side effects. I suggest reporting the problem to Purdue and the FDA. I have gotten 3 refill's of the NEW OxyContin they are not the same, they do not work as the old ones did, they do not last as long, it takes longer to take ANY kind of effect, I have went to the doctor, he does not want to change any thing, I called Purdu to find out how to get the old one's back, some one said if op is on the pill instead of oc it would be equal to the old one's. I dont know ! all I know is I went from being able to thing's to sitting in a chair or laying in a bed, I can not even get out of the tub now with out help, I have 6 grandchildren that I use to be able to play with (not for a long time, but now FORGET IT.)
