So based on these indications I don't see how either of those options would be beneficial for back pain? The other two medications however, are meant to be used for pain relief (assuming you meant to say Tizanidine, which is a muscle relaxant). Have been taking omeprazole 20 mg BID for about four months. The capsule is green on one side, blue on the other and contains 40 mgs of Omeprazole. I have been taking it for two weeks and just this weekend started experiencing back pain, groin pain and have a great deal of gas. Since I have started feeling better -- I resumed my medications today -- this afternoon the stomach pain has returned and the feeling that the diarrea is allso about to resume! ## Omeprazole can cause some stomach pain and diarrhea as side effects when you first start taking it. My mother has been taking Omeprazole for GERD for about a year, and she has been dealing with depression lately. She has always been a very upbeat person, so I do not think that any life events or other factors could be contributing to her mental health. This evening I read startling information that depression may actually be a serious side effect of Omeprazole and that she should report that to her doctor. At this point she does want to let her doctor know so that she can get off this med, but is also concerned that her pains from GERD will return.
