Hi I am 67 years, recently I had a stoke for high BP Dr. advised me with the following tablets. Can you tell me why these tablets are taken, side effects. I also want to know if i had to take this lifelong 1. Clopitab A 75/150 mg (0-1-0) 2. Olmat 40 mg (0-0-1) 3.Metpure-XL 50 mg (1-0-0-) 4.Storvas 40mg (0-0-1) ## Hello, Hasnath! How are you? I take this cobination at breakfast & whithin an Hour or so feel very very sleepy. I am diabetic for last 34 years & my age is 72. I have really no other problems of any kind Please explain. ## How long have you been taking them? It's possibly just due to a side effect of the medications. I am taking Olmat 40h + Embeta 100mg in the morning as well as Olmat 40mg in the evening + Atorva 5mg at night. My blood pressure is 140/90 in the morning and 160/90 in the evening. Would I have to take these medications for life? What are their side effects? I am 63 years old. ## You may have to take them for the rest of your life, to keep your blood pressure under control. However, if it does come down to normal levels, you may be able to reduce how many you are taking, or lower their dosages, in the future. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been using Telma...& the my doctor has changed it to Olmat H...appreciate if you can give the comparison between the two,does the change is necessary as I was comfortable with Telma. ## Hello, Sanjeev! How are you? Why did your doctor change it? Was your blood pressure still elevated? Olmat-H contains Olemsartan and Hydrochlorothiazide to try to help lower your blood pressure more. I have been taking thyronorm 25 mg for the past 3 years and now my BP is 160 -100 most of the time. I wake up in the morning with headaches and pain in my left arm. My Dr advised me taking orlistat 120 for weight management and xtem and olmator 20. I am not sure if i should start these medications, though it is two weeks now and i am taking mukta vati and medhavati. ## I am 78 years old, taking Thyrox 25 for the past one year due to high BP. Prior to this was taking Losaran 50 twice daily, but since I started thyroid medicine my BP has gone down. Sometimes it comes down to as low as 102/54. I also take 4 tablets of Tidomet plus 125. What is the reason why my BP has been going down?

Hi, my dad got his angioplasty done 2.5 months back with 2 stents. He is diabetic, has high blood pressure and operated for add closure in 1976. He was taking ramcor h and amlosafe 5 before the angioplasty. Post angioplasty his blood pressure medicine was changed to olmat 20 mg one at night and prolomet am 5/50 in the morning. His no was still high so the dosage was increased to Olmat 40 mg. But with this increased dosage he has to wake up for urinating several times at night. Also he has started getting swelling on feet. Dr said swelling is because of amlodopine in prolomet am. I spoke to the Dr and asked him to change the combination for blood pressure. nebicard sm for High BP is prescribe to me by my doctor. I was using Betablock but it was giving cough. X ray , Blood revelad nothing abnoramal. ## Doctor has prescribed Nebicard SM because I have been diagnosed with High BP. All other tests are normal. I take 1 tablet in the morning on an empty stomach. My question is: 1. Is it mandatory to take this medicine on an empty stomach? Can I not take it in two half doses morning and evening? 2. After I take this medicine the BP drops very low (like 103/65) and I feel very weak for half of the day. I am taking tablet daily morning since 2 year is there any side effect ?

I am taking supermet XL 100 and olmat-am 20, but I am getting a low pulse of 40. Kindly suggest the recommended dosage of this medicine. I am diabetic and on insulin too.
