I have been on Amlace for hypertension and my doctor changed it to Betadrop (a Beta blocker) which was causing swelling in the ankles and ED and to counteract the swelling in ankles he then prescribed Amifru 40 (1/2 tab x 2 a day). This did not reduce swelling much especially when standing or sitting for long periods. My new doctor has just now put me on OLMAX- H 20 mg 1x1 a day and stopped all previous drugs. OLMAX-H helped in passing much urine freely which was not so with the previous drugs. My new doctor says the swelling is more to do with varicose veins and not so much the previous drug. I take this cobination at breakfast & whithin an Hour or so feel very very sleepy. I am diabetic for last 34 years & my age is 72. I have really no other problems of any kind Please explain. ## How long have you been taking them? It's possibly just due to a side effect of the medications. Hi, my dad got his angioplasty done 2.5 months back with 2 stents. He is diabetic, has high blood pressure and operated for add closure in 1976. He was taking ramcor h and amlosafe 5 before the angioplasty. Post angioplasty his blood pressure medicine was changed to olmat 20 mg one at night and prolomet am 5/50 in the morning. His no was still high so the dosage was increased to Olmat 40 mg. But with this increased dosage he has to wake up for urinating several times at night. Also he has started getting swelling on feet. Dr said swelling is because of amlodopine in prolomet am. I spoke to the Dr and asked him to change the combination for blood pressure. I have been taking thyronorm 25 mg for the past 3 years and now my BP is 160 -100 most of the time. I wake up in the morning with headaches and pain in my left arm. My Dr advised me taking orlistat 120 for weight management and xtem and olmator 20. I am not sure if i should start these medications, though it is two weeks now and i am taking mukta vati and medhavati. ## I am 78 years old, taking Thyrox 25 for the past one year due to high BP. Prior to this was taking Losaran 50 twice daily, but since I started thyroid medicine my BP has gone down. Sometimes it comes down to as low as 102/54. I also take 4 tablets of Tidomet plus 125. What is the reason why my BP has been going down?
