My doctor recently left the practice. He was my GP and wrote all my meds including pain meds for my spinal stenosis. The doctor he referred me to is writing them but she is reducing them and told me that the practice is trying to get patients on narcotics over to pain management doctors. I know that many pain management doctors do not write prescriptions and instead do injections, PT, etc. I have been down that road with nothing to show for it. Does anyone know of a good pain management doctor that will write pain meds but not subject you to a UA every single month or an office visit every single month? It's not that I won't pass it I just don't want another paranoid doctor that is more worried about the Fed than me. Thank you! ## That's not just something that their pra...

In Oklahoma and needing a doctor who will prescribe Xanax or alprazolam. Anyone on here know of one around Tulsa OKC area? I'll drive wherever I need to go. My dr retired, new doc won't rx.. ## Personally, I think if you suffer from anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Xanax), usually your best bet is to see a psychiatrist rather than a regular medical doctor. Reason being is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can "also" help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, as opposed to temporarily covering up the feelings/emotions with medication. Posted below are a few options I came across in the Tulsa, OK area: Peter A Rao, MD Laureate Psychiatric Clinic & Hospital 5...

need valium 10mg perscription for wife need opana 40mg prescription fof self ## Hello, James! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year by the DEA, you'll both need to see specialists to have such medications prescribed on a long-term ongoing basis, which likely means a psychiatrist for your wife and a pain management specialist for you. The FDA lists both these medications as having the potential to be habit forming and they may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and drowsiness. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly that might be able to refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way to find the help you need. Can anyone recommend good doctors in that area?

Was in a car accident with back and neck injuries. Have been given hydrocodone that doesn't touch the pain. I live in Arkansas and heard oklahoma pain clinics understand and are more compassionate. Can anyone help me and tell me what clinics I can go to to get oxicotin??? I am desperately seeking help. The Dr. I had seen before for pain is no longer in business. ## Most will not prescribe for out of state patients, and most pharmacies will not fill, unless the doctor and patient are located in the same state. It is also never a good idea to seek out one specific medication, since most doctors will see that as being drug seeking behavior. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mou...

I need a doctor in Oklahoma to prescribe me methadone for chronic pain! I have 4 discs blown n my back and both types diabetes causing severe diabetic neuropathy. They are wanting to strip veins outta of my legs! I have been on methadone for roughly 20 years as it's the only thing that maintains my pain. I have 5 kids and methadone actually gives me my quality of life back! I need an understanding doctor asap! Not one doctor will operate on me due to my diabetes and other issues, too much to mention! ## I'm looking for a methadone doctor, can anyone help me? Currently on suboxone 8 mg/2mg and it's not for chronic pain. Back to your question, doctor's are so afraid to prescribe opiates with your problem. So many suffer from chaotic pain, they need to start prescribing for...

My GP recently stopped prescribing me Soma after many years of successful treatment with no other changes in medications. I go to a pain specialist for long term injury and they do not prescribe soma. I've heard that the best bet for getting back to my previous treatment plan may be to find a new GP who would prescribe soma. Does anyone have any idea of how to find this out about the specific doctors or know of any in the Tulsa, OK area who do? Please let me know, I cannot take all of the other muscle relaxants I've been prescribed to try. ## Soma is and does many things but rest assured it does not provide "successful treatment" of any part of the body. That is why it is being slowly phased out ## I'm looking for a doctor who prescribes soma in Tulsa, OK. I have bee...

Doctors who prescribe methDone in muskogee ## Hello, Smitty! How are you? If you require it for addiction/maintenance treatment, a clinic is your only option. It is against the law for a regular doctor to prescribe it for that. If you require it for pain, then due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.

I have suffered from severe GAD most of my adult life, including panic attacks. I am between psychiatrists right now. I am completely out of Xanax 1mg and have 4 klonopin to last an unknown timeframe. I am very frightened/panicked. I am unable to even go to the grocery store. Please help- I have called lots of psychiatrists and none are taking new patients. I am at a loss. Help! ## I don't know how much you are taking but you NEED to have a plan to get you to an ER. I spent 2 weeks withdrawing at home, noting the different daily symptoms, could have written a book. I knew I was getting worse as hallucinations were setting in. I was reading old emails from my ceiling. I almost died but was clearly able to communicate with the ER Doctor. He was amazed. They kept me for a week. ## Hell...

Are there any doctors who will prescribe XANAX at the first visit? I have medical history. ## Hello, LD! How are you? If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. A general practitioner won't be able to prescribe it. That said, there is also no guarantees that any doctor will prescribe it on any visit, since it is a controlled substance that is very commonly abused. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area? ## Aja, Your best bet is seeing a doctor. Going the illicit r...

I live in okc, plz anything will help. ## Hello, Stella! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. Additionally, due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, you'll most likely need to see 2 different specialists for such medications, one for the pain and the other for the issue requiring Xanax. Why are you no longer seeing your old doctor? ## Tulsa or Muskogee pain management drs...I've had Two neck surgeries among other health issues and moving back home. Need a doctor who will treat me for injuries from a car accident that prescribed pain meds. ## I don't need pain management today but have been in a few rear ends several years ago but mid back pain is unbearable please sooner care doctor to write pain meds asap ## Tulsa has several pain clinics. They will want your records from the last doctor who wrote your prescriptions before you are accepted as a patient. It will have to be in a bigger city. The doctors have been quitting writing narcotics due to new CDC Guidelines so you have to go to a Pain Management Clinic. ## Where can I find a doctor to prescribe pain medication in Oklahoma City or Moore, OK? How hard is it to get off Suboxone? I take 24-28 mg. Suboxone Dailey and have been for over a year now. How hard is it going to be to quit taking the Suboxone? Thank you I was addicted to opioids for over 15 years and got tired of being dependant on them but the withdrawals are so bad and hard do they ever really go away forever? ## You better make sure u take MONTHS to get off subox.....do not do it fast? I did & I suffered like a dog for weeks. Do it slow & you'll b fine guy. The withdrawals go away & you'll return to normal & even the urge goes away. NA also helped me. Good luck guy. ## The best thing to do is to consult your doctor and let them help you to set up a proper tapering schedule. Overall, most people who take Suboxone do end up being able to become...

I have been in Pain management since 2004 in California and just Moved out there to muskogee Oklahoma... unfortunately there are NO doctors here willing to treat my pain i was on a regiment of 80mg Oxycontin 2X daily 10/325mg Norcos every 4 hours and 4mg IV dilaudid as needed for breakthrough pain... i am in search of a doctor out this way who is actualluy willing to perscribe these meds... thanks ## Well, the first question I have is, how are you checking with the doctors about getting help? The reason I am asking is because if you're calling various doctor's offices and asking if they'll treat you and prescribe specific medications, then you will pretty much always get told no. When someone does that, doctor's and their staff are taught to see it as drug seeking behavi...

I work in the log woods doing hard labor. My back has been hurting me badly for about 3 months now. I need a doctor close to Oklahoma/Arkansas area that will try and get me some kind of prescription to help me through work. I tried Hydrocodone and it makes me sick. I have not tried going to the doctor because I'm young and feel they will most likely laugh in my face. So please if there is any doctor around this area that is willing to help out please contact me ASAP. ## Back problems are known to occur at any age and no doctor will laugh at you about it. The real issue is that it may be something that would be easily fixed with treatment, that you are just making worse by not going to a doctor for a proper diagnosis. i was blessed to find the st anthony's START program in okc 3 yrs ago & it literally changed my life; i've done a 180 degree turn in my life in just about every way. i went into rehab needing desperately to get off oxycontin, which i'd been on along with most other Rx pain medications since a neck injury that temporarily put me in a wheel chair in '05. i had come to believe all the oxy in the world would not allow me to function normally with any tolerable level of pain. i didn't know a thing about suboxone until that time, upon going into the START program where i found the most incredible physician, dr charles shaw. with his referral i was able to get into an okc pain mgmt office where i've been a patient since feb, '12, soon to be 3 yrs. however, thank...

I have had severe chronic back pain for over 10yrs..when I had insurance it was never a problem to get my medications (tramadol, lortab, fentanyl, muscle relaxers, ambien and trazodone). Since I lost insurance it is extremely hard to find a dr and pay for medications since I am a cash pay patient. Is there anywhere or programs that are free or will help cover me to see a dr and cost of medications? I'm in Oklahoma.
