Hello, I am a 24 patient diagnosed with foraminal stenosis, lower lumber facet arthopathy, degenerative retrolisthesis, and neuropathy. I was put on Hydrocodone 7.5mg 4XD (120 monthly) three years ago. I had to leave my original pain management doctor after over two years because they dropped my insurance. I had to rely on my PCP to prescribe my medicine to me, but she dropped it down to 5mg - 90 a month until I get into a new pain management doctor (due to see one the 20th) despite my body having built a tolerance and being used to the higher dosage. I didn't complain, I've just dealt with more pain and have been put on sleeping medicine to try to get rest. My doctor has taken me off, put me back on, denied refills and treated me like some junkie, saying I'm too young and s...

Does anyone know a good pain doctor or clinic in columbus, ohio who isnt afraid to prescribe meds? My Doc just got his license revoked, Thanks ## Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to transfer or take a copy of all your medical records with you. Then, the best approach in my opinion, is to discuss up front and honestly what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Mos...

Have had three back surgeries and surgeon won't prescribe anymore and I'm in tremendous pain. SSI keeps denying for last 3 years so I have no insurance. Need a affordable Dr asap please if anyone can help. Thank you ## Hello, Janie! How are you? Yes, unfortunately due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, your surgeon can only prescribe for a limited period of time. If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a pain management specialist….the problem here is that they are going to be reluctant to prescribe you anything and, if they do, pharmacies won't want to fill it, since you don't have insurance. Cash payment makes it easier for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. Do you currently have a PCP that you s...

My insurance allows to change doctors as often as needed, no pcp needed, also need good pain management doctor, currently have one in a hospital, do they charge alot more than one who has their own office. I was charged $2600 for an epidural, where other places charge 200/300. I lorain, ohio area. Is this correct. Shes really a rehabilitation specialist? please help ## Hello, Dave! How are you? There is no set amount that they may or may not charge. Fees are going to depend on the doctor, their years of experience, the treatments proffered and etc. Do you have a PCP? If you do and can have them refer you to someone, that may be the easiest way to find a good pm specialist in your area. Does anyone else know of any good doctors in that area?

does anyone know of any ohio pain clinics that prescribe oxy 30's ## In what area of Ohio? Some basic information will probably help you get more responses. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Another thing to keep in mind is to not ask them to prescribe any specific medication, when you call a new doctor to set up an appointment, because most doctors will consider that to be drug seeking behavior. ## I live near Coeur d'Alene ID and the only pain management treatment available here is a gestapo clinic that gives you painful cortisone injections-they won't increase your dosages, and then if you are taking more than your prescribed dose-they cut you off! That is what we have here. i am willing to see an out of state doc if he will help. I have 2 bulged discs in my lumbar with ...

Need reference for a doctor that will prescribe Oxycodone or similiar for chronic back pain due to scoliosis fusion. New insurance, having trouble getting a Good new doctor. ## Hello, Davemb! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Unfortunately, there is no listing of doctors according to who will or will not prescribe any given medication that I can refer to for you. Technically, any doctor with a license to practice could prescribe it, but due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require some type of narcotic on a long-term ongoing basis, then you'll need to see a pain management specialist. Have you tried getting in with a PCP, yet? Doing that and then having them refer you to pain management will likely be the easiest way to find the help ...

Please let me know. Thank you. ## May I ask the name of the Dr you were seeing? I don't think I'm supposed to drop names here but I'd be happy to give you names of those located here. You can very likely do a Google search for pain managers in the area. Why not have your pcp refer you somewhere? You're going to need some kind of referral there's no question of that. They don't make appointments for new patients over the phone without a faxed referral and very likely will request the records come from the referring Dr. Why?
