Recently saw some ALL white (inside/out), CDN on one side, 80 on the other in Ontario, break up easily into powder. Has a slightly shiny coating. I believe these are China knock offs? Anyone have any ideas what is in these things? They do appear perfect...well made. The 8 is not bigger than the 0. The only thing that seems odd is there is a very small edge all the way around it...very small! Also the coating seems to have trapped some small powder dust under it...again you must look really close to notice. Looking at it in your hand...it looks identical to the green 80 CDN, only white! Any input would be appreciated...thx

this is in reply to all who are complaining to the new oxycontin 80 OP. I have been takeing them for 2 years now. My last scrip is still the OC. I pray they are pulled before we get them here. There are other meds we all can go to such as the fent. Patch which comes in a lolly pop too. I bet they will be pulled & back to the old ones before the year is out ## Pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original product, until their stocks runs out, then all will only be able to get the new Oxycontin OP. There have, however, been many complaints that they do not work as well and cause odd side effects, even though they are supposed to work the same and have the same side effects. If they are still sealed in the original factory bottle, then they are good for 3 years from the date of manufacture. However, if that bottle has been opened, so they are exposed to the elements that cause degradation, it drops to one year from then. Other odd storage conditions would hasten the degradation, for instance if you were storing them in a plastic bag in a purse or backpack, because that could allow more moisture to build up. I am 76 years old,I had a coronary - angiography with the overall conclusions as follows :Calcium Score 34.5 Coronary artery stenosis about 30% dia. My hypertension reads 145/65/73. Having taken Bactrim for about 3 weeks for a prostate infection, it now seems that the first urination after taking the pill exaggerates or possibly causes an extra burning sensation. Is this ever reported as a side effect ## Bactrim contains Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim and being that it's a sulfa drug, it's well known to cause odd side effects and weight reactions in many people that take it. is a 80mg op stronger then a 30mg perk ## The OP, as you call them are Oxycontin, which is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and, in this case, that would be an 80mg dosage. Percocet contains a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and it is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone, there is no 30mg dosage of it available. Does this thin blood like aspirin, Ibuprofen? Is it safe to take this prior to surgery to knock a sinus infection? ## Sulfamethoxazole Tmp Ds itself is not a blood thinner, although it does have a warning label stating it's interaction with other blood thinners. As far as pre-operative doses go, this is probably something that should be discussed with the surgeon, since every surgeon has their own unique pre and post operative instructions. Odds are it is probably fine, as it is an antibiotic and doesn't thin blood; but just to be sure I would double check with his personal instructions. Hi I started taking sulfamethy trimethoprim 800160 tabs yesterday eveing for a cyst in the not long before I got a real bad headache this morning I was fine but as soon as I drink it an hr or past an my headache came back ## Hi, Jane! Very sorry about the headaches. It could be from this antibiotic, since it is sulfa based, it has been known to cause some very odd side effects in some people that take it. I would like to know what would cause an overdose in a male who is 225 lbs. in weight using oxycodone. I have over 220 5 mg. tabs. ## Please correct me if I am wrong, but to my knowledge, Oxycodone doses aren't usually based on weight, but rather the severity of the pain you're dealing with. I went ahead and posted the adult dosing guidelines below...As far as ODing on oxycodone, I would guess anything over a 100mg, since you can get them in doses of as high as 80mg and oxycontin at even higher doses. For initial treatment the following dosing schedule is recommended: Immediate Release (IR): 5 mg to 15 mg orally every 4 to 6 hours Controlled Release (CR): 10 mg orally every 12 hours. Just an FYI. I woke up in the hospital on a respirator after my teenage son found me. This was not intentional. I developed pneumonia. Oh! I woke up deaf. I couldn't hear for two days. My kidneys failed and I was on dialysis for 8 weeks. My overall hospital stay was almost four weeks. My family noticed a marked difference in my personality. I am a heart patient - had CABG about 14 years ago. Medicines I am taking are : Deplatt CV 20 (1 tab daily), Monotrate OD 50 (1 tab daily), Valzaar 80 (2 tabs daily), Nebicard 10 (1 tab daily), Flavedon MR 35 mg (2 tabs daily); for prostrate problem, I am taking Urimax 0.4 (1 tab daily); for arthritis, I am taking Folitrax 7.5 (1 tab weekly). Along with these I am taking Cobadex Czs (1 tab daily) and Folvite 5 (1 tab daily). Is Folvite 5 necessary? I understand Cobadex Czs also has 'Folic acid'. Is any of these medicines superfluous? I am 64 years old.
