Will someone pls tell me what nysta/hydro/banop is, im desperate. My dentist prescribed me this, im supost to swish gargle and swallow. I have no idea what this is or what it contains. Thank you ## These are regional products, which means the ingredients can vary from area to area and are based upon what the doctors there have discovered to help with certain problems, thus there is no hard and fast formula. Just making a few guesses, the Hydro could stand for Hydrocodone, it is often used to treat cough. The nysta is probably Nystatin, its an anti-fungal that's commonly used to treat oral yeast infections. I really don't have an idea for the last ingredient and, as I said, this is all speculation anyway. Have you tried asking at the pharmacy where it was dispensed? Is anyone els...

Does it help with the itching of a fungal infection? Also does it work while you are taking an antibiotic? ## Hello, PeeWee! How are you? Yes and yes! The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation and dryness. However, while you're still on the antibiotic, there is a chance that the yeast infection could recur, since it can cause it as a side effect. Is there anything else I can help with?

Dr gave me Nystatin vaginal cream to treat yeast...he told me to applay that cream into vagina for 7 days.I am pregnant six weaks...Is there any risk for baby?I told him that I am pregnant, and he know that... ## Hi Nickol, Based on my research, Nystatin is listed as a Pregnancy category C drug. This means that animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus but there are not any adequate nor well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. Since your doctor allowed you to use this medication, and he knows you are pregnant, I wouldn't worry. If you notice any side effects such as vaginal discharge, speak with your doctor. It's recommended that the medication is stored at room tem...

I have a yeast infection in my esophgus and my former Dr. did not give me this. Is this product correct ## Hi Bob, I was unable to locate specific details on the combination of these three medications, but I did look up each one individually to get an idea of what their used for: Nystatin is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, mouth, vagina, and intestinal tract. Hydrocortisone is used to relieve the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions. Diphenhydramine is used to relieve red, irritated, itchy, watery eyes; sneezing; and runny nose caused by hay fever, allergies, or the common cold. Based on the details above, it's tough for me to say whether or not this is the best prescription medication to handle the job. W...

My husband was prescribed this med after telling his oncologist that he felt like he had something in his throat that was making it hard to swallow. For the last 3 days now he has had constant hiccups. I mean constant(even while sleeping). He's about at the end of his rope. I suggested that he take a dose of the "magic mouthwash". The hiccups stopped for about 15 minutes and then came back. That 15 minutes has been his only relief for 3 days. He had chemo this week as well. I don't know if any of this is related but we HAVE to get these hiccups to stop. ## Hello, Vicki! How is your husband doing? What all medications does he take? The hiccups could be related to one of them. Are Hydrocortisone and Nystatin the only ingredients listed for the magic mouthwash? Its typical ...

I was given this med for thrush. I have been on predisone for emphesema and I developed thrush. I got a headache and dizziness. ## This is more than one medication, are you saying you were given all of these? The Nystatin is an antifungal medication, so it is appropriate for treating Thrush, since it's an oral yeast infection. The Diphenhydramine is sometimes given, if the yeast infection is causing dizziness, since is an antihistamine. However the other 2 are not normal treatments, so you would need to ask your doctor why they prescribed them. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic and that's probably what caused the headache and dizziness. And the Tetracycline is an antibiotic, these are not usually given, because they can cause, or worsen these types of infections.

My doctor prescribed nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide to be used for yeast infection in my nose. Is it safe to use the cream inside the nostrils. ## Hello, Red! How are you? You should follow your doctor's instructions. Placing a thin later of it inside the nose should allow it to work topically and not result in your actually ingesting it, unless you use far too much. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin irritation, rash, redness and dryness. Is there anything else I can help with?

Will nystatin help with my acne? I don't get it very bad. Just a couple pimples, but my chest and back are worse than my face. They get tiny white heads. Will this help or make it worse? I've been on some pills where they make it worse. Any insight you can give is awesome. Thanks. ## Hello, Kas! How are you? No, Nystatin only treats fungal infections, so it will not help with acne. Have you consulted your doctor? They should be able to find something that will help you. Another tip is to always wash those areas of your body last, when showering, that way any lingering oils from your shampoo or other products you use don't stay on the skin to worsen the breakouts.

External Genital Cream for Dryness ## I have an irritation on my bottom around my vaginal area and back onto the rectal area. I have a RX that my doctor gave me to put on my bottom a few months ago, but I'm not sure it is the same problem that I had before The RX is NYSTAT/TRIAM CREAM. Is this the right thing to put on it? ## It is really best not to use anything, without your doctor's approval. Using the wrong treatment could actually worsen some problems. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin redness, irritation, and flakiness. Carol, what was the cause of the problem last time?
